  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention
  • The disclosure relates to retaining devices and more particularly pertains to a new retaining device for fastening a vaporizer to a user. The present invention discloses a retaining device for a vaporizer comprising a line, which can be hung around a neck of a user, and to which a resilient band is engaged. The resilient band secures a vaporizer to the line.
  • (2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98
  • The prior art relates to retaining devices. Prior art retaining devices for vaporizers may comprise holed cradles, clamps, or sleeves engaged to lanyards. What is lacking in the prior art is a retaining device for a vaporizer comprising a line, which can be hung around a neck of a user, and to which a resilient band is engaged. The resilient band secures a vaporizer to the line.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a line and a band. The line has opposed ends, which are mutually engaged so that the line defines a loop. The loop is configured for insertion of a head of a user so that the line is positioned around a neck of the user. The band, which is resiliently stretchable, is engaged to the line. The band is configured to be selectively stretched to position it around a vaporizer. The band is configured to rebound to removably engage the vaporizer so that the vaporizer is removably engaged to the line.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a kit view of a vaporizer retaining device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 6 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new retaining device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6 , the vaporizer retaining device 10 generally comprises a line 12 and a band 14. The line 12 has opposed ends 16, which are mutually engaged so that the line 12 defines a loop 18. The loop 18 is configured for insertion of a head of a user so that the line 12 is positioned around a neck of the user. The line 12 may comprise strings, wires, chains, straps, and the like. The present invention also anticipates a pair of first rings 20 and a second ring 22. The first rings 20 are engaged singly to the opposed ends 16 of the line 12. The second ring 22 is loopedly engaged to the pair of first rings 20 so that the line 12 defines the loop 18.
  • The band 14, which comprises rubber, silicone, or elastomer, is resiliently stretchable and is engaged to the line 12. The band 14 is configured to be selectively stretched to position it around a vaporizer 24. The band 14 is configured to rebound to removably engage the vaporizer 24 so that the vaporizer 24 is removably engaged to the line 12.
  • The vaporizer retaining device 10 also may comprise a fastener 26, which is selectively engageable to the band 14 so that the band 14 defines a pair of subloops 28, as shown in FIG. 2 . The fastener 26 is selectively positionable on the band 14 so that the subloops 28 are selectively sizeable. Thus, a respective subloop 28 is sizeable to a selected vaporizer 24, as shown in FIG. 3 . The fastener 26 may comprise a cinch bead 30, or other fastening means, such as, but not limited to, cinch sleeves, clips, and the like.
  • The vaporizer retaining device 10 also may comprise a connector 32, which is engaged to the line 12 and is selectively engageable to the band 14. As shown in FIG. 1 , the connector 32 is engaged to the second ring 22 so that the connector 32 is engaged to the line 12. The connector 32 may comprise a lobster clasp 34, or other connecting means, such as, but not limited to, clips, clamps, and the like. Some vaporizers 24 are equipped with an integral ring (not shown) to which the lobster clasp 34 can be engaged.
  • The vaporizer retaining device 10 also may comprise a split ring 36, which is engaged to the band 14 and is selectively engageable to the connector 32. The vaporizer retaining device 10 also may comprise a plurality of beads 38, which is engaged to the line 12 as shown in FIG. 1 .
  • The band 14 may be one of a plurality of bands 14, with each band 14 having a respective circumference 40 so that the plurality of bands 14 comprises bands 14 having a variety of circumferences 40. Vaporizers 24 are available in a variety of configurations. Having a plurality of bands 14 with a variety of circumferences 40 renders the vaporizer retaining device 10 compatible with a variety of vaporizers 24. A respective band 14 having a circumference 40 complementary to a selected vaporizer 24 is configured to be selectively stretched to position it around the selected vaporizer 24. The respective band 14 is configured to rebound to removably engage it to the selected vaporizer 24 so that the selected vaporizer 24 is removably engaged to the line 12.
  • The present invention anticipates the line 12 and the plurality of bands 14 being configured as a kit 42. A pair of first rings 20 engaged singly to the opposed ends 16 of the line 12 of the kit 42. A second ring 22 is loopedly engaged to the pair of first rings 20 so that the line 12 defines the loop 18. A lobster clasp 34 is engaged to the second ring 22. Each of a plurality of split rings 36 is engaged to a respective band 14. The kit 42 also may comprise a fastener 26, such as a cinch bead 30.
  • In use, a respective band 14 having a circumference 40 complementary to a selected vaporizer 24 is selected from the plurality of bands 14. The respective band 14 is stretched to position it around the selected vaporizer 24 and is allowed to rebound to removably engage the respective band 14 to the selected vaporizer 24. The user then engages the lobster clasp 34 to the split ring 36, which is engaged to the respective band 14, so that the vaporizer 24 is engaged to the line 12.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
