- The disclosure relates to test tube devices and more particularly pertains to a new test tube device for storing test tubes and gauze pads for a phlebotomist. The device includes a wrist band that can be worn on a user's wrist and a plurality of test tube holders that are attached to the wrist band for storing test tubes. The device includes an elastomeric strap that is attached to the wrist band for storing gauze pads. In this way the test tubes and the gauze pads are continually available while the user is collecting blood samples.
- The prior art relates to test tube devices including a ratcheting wrist strap for holding an intravenous line. The prior art discloses a game call holder which comprises a wrist strap, a pair of loops attached to the wrist strap and a pair of lanyards attached to the wrist strap. The prior art discloses a blood flow device that includes a wrist strap and a multi-port valve attached to the wrist strap. The prior art discloses an arm band device that includes an arm band and a strap attached to the arm band beneath which intravenous tubes can be secured. The prior art discloses an intravenous cuff that includes an adhesive pad upon which an intravenous line can be adhered for securing the intravenous line. The prior art discloses an arm band that has a channel for receiving an intravenous line and a flap that is extendable over the channel.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a wrist band that is wearable around a user's wrist. The wrist band is matable to itself thereby forming a closed loop of an adjustable diameter thereby facilitating the wrist band to accommodate a variety of sizes of user's wrists. A plurality of test tube holders is each disposed on the wrist band thereby facilitating each of the test tube holders to insertably receive a respective one of a plurality of test tubes for temporarily storing the test tubes. An elastomeric strap is coupled to the wrist band thereby facilitating the elastomeric strap to be stretched over gauze pads for temporarily storing the gauze pads.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a test tube holder assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a bottom perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a top perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new test tube device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the testtube holder assembly 10 generally comprises awrist band 12 that is wearable around a user'swrist 14. Thewrist band 12 is matable to itself thereby forming a closed loop of an adjustable diameter thereby facilitating thewrist band 12 to accommodate a variety of sizes of user'swrists 14. Afirst mating member 16 is coupled to atop surface 18 of thewrist band 12 and thefirst mating member 16 is positioned adjacent to afirst end 20 of thewrist band 12. Asecond mating member 22 is coupled to abottom surface 24 of thewrist band 12 and thesecond mating member 22 is positioned adjacent to asecond end 26 of thewrist band 12. Additionally, thefirst mating member 16 releasably engages thesecond mating member 22 when thewrist band 12 is formed into the closed loop. A plurality oftest tube holders 28 is provided and each of thetest tube holders 28 is disposed on thewrist band 12 thereby facilitating each of thetest tube holders 28 to insertably receive a respective one of a plurality oftest tubes 30 for temporarily storing thetest tubes 30. Thetest tubes 30 may be blood sample tubes, for example, and the user may be a phlebotomist that is collecting blood samples. - The plurality of
test tube holders 28 comprise anelastomeric band 32 that has aprimary end 34 andsecondary end 36 which are each coupled to thetop surface 18 of thewrist band 12. Theelastomeric band 32 is oriented to extend substantially between thefirst end 20 and thesecond end 26 of thewrist band 12. Theelastomeric band 32 is attached to thewrist band 12 at a plurality ofconnection points 38 that are spaced apart from each other and are distributed between theprimary end 34 and thesecondary end 36. Theelastomeric band 32 curves upwardly from thewrist band 12 between a respective pair of theconnection points 38 to define each of thetest tube holders 28 that are positioned between each of the respective pair ofconnection points 38. - An
elastomeric strap 40 is coupled to thewrist band 12 thereby facilitating theelastomeric strap 40 to be stretched overgauze pads 42 for temporarily storing thegauze pads 42. In this way thegauze pads 42 are constantly available to the phlebotomist while the phlebotomist is collecting the blood samples. Theelastomeric strap 40 is positioned on thetop surface 18 of thewrist band 12 and theelastomeric strap 40 is positioned between thesecondary end 36 of theelastomeric band 32 and thesecond end 26 of thewrist band 12. Theelastomeric strap 40 is oriented to extend along a line that is perpendicularly oriented with the axis extending between thefirst end 20 and thesecond end 26 of thewrist band 12. - In use, the
wrist band 12 is wrapped around the user'swrist 14 such that thefirst mating member 16 engages thesecond mating member 22. Each of thetest tubes 30 is inserted into a respective one of thetest tube holders 28 and thegauze pads 42 are positioned beneath theelastomeric strap 40. In this way thetest tubes 30 and thegauze pads 42 are continually available during the collection of blood samples. Additionally, thetest tubes 30 andgauze pads 42 are stored in a hands-manner to facilitate the user to efficiently perform their tasks. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
