Abstract

A disk-shaped upper body exercise device includes: a disk-shaped body; a drag provision part groove implemented in a circular loop form having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on a top of the disk-shaped body; at least one sensor installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body; a processor installed inside the disk-shaped body, and configured to check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on measurement information measured by the at least one sensor, and to generate upper body exercise information; a display installed on a side surface of the disk-shaped body, and configured to provide the upper body exercise information to the user; and a grip portion provided on a bottom of the disk-shaped body, and implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention relates to an upper body exercise device provided to enable a user to do upper body exercise by placing it on his or her hand and moving it back and forth around the body (particularly, the head).
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • Plate turning is a joint exercise that rotates the six major joints of our body. In particular, plate turning rotates the fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulder joints of a person who does a plate-turning exercise, thereby providing the effect of promoting blood circulation by increasing the body temperature of the muscles and ligaments around the joints and widening the range of motion of the joints.
  • In addition, plate turning is a full-body exercise that uses the whole body unlike general bare-handed gymnastics because it stimulates the wrists, the elbows, the shoulders, the pelvis, the knees, and the ankles, and provides the effect of improving the user's joint flexibility due to the rotation of the joints and releasing the muscles that were tight due to the whole body stretching.
  • In addition, plate turning increases the body temperature by about 1-2 degrees immediately after exercise, thereby providing the effect of strengthening the immunity of a user who does exercise.
  • However, the plate used for the plate-turning exercise has a high risk of damage if it falls on the floor during exercise. Furthermore, if an exerciser misses the plate, there is a problem in that other people may be injured.
  • Therefore, there is a need for an exercise device capable of reducing the risk during exercise while providing the effect of a plate-turning exercise.
  • DISCLOSURE Technical Problem
  • In order to overcome the above problems, the present invention intends to provide a disk-shaped upper body exercise device that can reduce the risk during exercise while providing the effect of a plate-turning exercise.
  • Technical Solution
  • According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a disk-shaped upper body exercise device including: a disk-shaped body; a drag provision part groove implemented in a circular loop form having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on a top of the disk-shaped body; at least one sensor installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body; a processor installed inside the disk-shaped body, and configured to check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on measurement information measured by the at least one sensor, and to generate upper body exercise information, to be provided to a user, based on results of the checking; a display installed on a side surface of the disk-shaped body, and configured to provide the upper body exercise information to the user under the control of the processor; and a grip portion provided on a bottom of the disk-shaped body, and implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.
  • According to an embodiment, the disk-shaped upper body exercise device may further include a drag provision part attached to the drag provision part groove and configured to provide drag to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device.
  • According to an embodiment, the at least one sensor may include at least one of an ultrasonic sensor, an acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyro sensor, a photo sensor, a picking sensor, a thru-beam sensor, and a waterproof ultrasonic sensor.
  • According to an embodiment, the disk-shaped upper body exercise device may further include a speaker installed on a bottom of the disk-shaped body and configured to provide at least one of the upper body exercise information and preset sound information to the user under the control of the processor.
  • According to an embodiment, the processor may perform control to select one of a plurality of exercise programs provided by the disk-shaped upper body exercise device in response to a user input, to generate a message, providing notification that at least one of the upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time of the user needs to be changed, based on the selected exercise program and the measurement information, and to provide the message to the user using at least one of the display and the speaker.
  • According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an exercise system for providing upper body exercise information to a user, the exercise system including: a disk-shaped upper body exercise device; and an electronic device configured such that an application for receiving upper body exercise information from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device and recording and analyzing the upper body exercise information is installed thereon; wherein the disk-shaped upper body exercise device including: a disk-shaped body; a drag provision part groove implemented in a circular loop form having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on a top of the disk-shaped body; at least one sensor installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body; a processor installed inside the disk-shaped body, and configured to check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on measurement information measured by the at least one sensor, and to generate upper body exercise information, to be provided to a user, based on results of the checking; a display installed on a side surface of the disk-shaped body, and configured to provide the upper body exercise information to the user under the control of the processor; and a grip portion provided on a bottom of the disk-shaped body, and implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.
  • Advantageous Effects
  • The disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention is implemented to enable a user to do upper body exercise by placing it on the user's hand and moving it back and forth around the body (particularly, the head), thereby providing the effect of promoting blood circulation by increasing the body temperature of the muscles and ligaments around the user's joints and widening the range of motion of the joints.
  • Furthermore, the disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention is implemented to enable a user to do upper body exercise by placing it on the user's hand and moving it back and forth around the body (particularly, the head), thereby providing the effect of improving the user's joint flexibility and releasing the muscles that were tight due to the whole body stretching.
  • Furthermore, the disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention may include the device capable of providing drag, and the device capable of providing drag provides the effect of enabling the disk-shaped upper body exercise device to float and fly in the air when a user does Frisbee exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device.
  • Moreover, the disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention may include the device capable of providing drag, and the device capable of providing drag provides the effect of increasing the exercise effect via air resistance when a user does plate-turning exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device.

  • The present invention proposes an upper body exercise device in the form of a dish-shaped disk that can be placed on a user's hand and moved (in an elliptical shape) to back and forth around the body (particularly, the head) to exercise the upper body.
  • In addition, the present invention proposes an upper body exercise device in the form of a dish-shaped disk that enables a user to do an exchange exercise with other users.
  • The upper body exercise device proposed in the present invention is made of plastic material and high-elasticity material is used in necessary parts, so that damage can be prevented even in the event of a fall.
  • FIG. 1 is a view showing a disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention when viewed from the top, and FIG. 2 is a view showing a drag provision part provided in a disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 , a disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may include a disk-shaped body 105 and a drag provision part groove 110. The drag provision part groove 110 is provided in the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 so that a drag provision part 120 can be coupled to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • The drag provision part groove 110 may be implemented in the form of a circular loop having a diameter smaller than that of the disk-shaped body 105 in the top of the disk-shaped body 105.
  • The diameter of the disk-shaped body 105 may be implemented as “a” (e.g., about 20 cm), the width of the drag provision part groove 110 may be implemented as “b” (e.g., 2 to 3 mm), and the width from the drag provision part groove 110 to the edge of the disk-shaped body 105 may be implemented as “c” (e.g., 1 to 2 mm).
  • In the drag provision part 120, the width of the part coupled to the drag provision part groove 110 may be implemented as “b1” (e.g., 2 to 3 mm), the height of the drag provision part 120 may be implemented as “d” (e.g., 2 to 3 cm), and the maximum width of the drag provision portion of the drag provision part 120 may be implemented as “a1” (e.g., about 20 cm).
  • When the drag provision part 120 is coupled to the drag provision part groove 110, the drag provision part 120 provides drag to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 during a Frisbee exercise (a game in which a person throws or receives a round piece of plastic to and from another person outside) using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 so that the upper body exercise device 100 can float and fly in the air.
  • In addition, when the drag provision part 120 is coupled to the drag provision part groove 110, the drag provision part 120 may play a role of enhancing an exercise effect during a plate-turning exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • According to an embodiment, when a user does an upper body exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 alone, the drag provision part 120 may not be coupled to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • According to an embodiment, when the drag provision part 120 is not coupled to the disk-shaped upper body exercise machine 100, the edge of the disk-shaped upper body exercise machine 100 may be implemented in a comb pattern.
  • FIG. 3 is a side view of a disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention when viewed from a side.
  • Referring to FIG. 3 , the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may include a processor 130, a battery 135, a display 140, and LED lights 145.
  • The processor 130 may control the overall operation of the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100, and the battery 135 may provide power to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • The processor 130 may check the user's upper body exercise movement/exercise number/exercise time, and/or the like using at least one sensor provided in the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100, and may provide information using at least one of the display 140, the LED lights 145, and the speaker 180 when information necessary for a user is generated based on the results of the checking.
  • According to an embodiment, the processor 130 may measure the number of rotations/the amount of exercise/the degree of inclination during upper body exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 by using an optical sensor provided in the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • According to another embodiment, the processor 130 may measure the number of rotations/the amount of exercise/the degree of inclination during upper body exercise using the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 by using a combination of various sensors such as an acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyro sensor, and the like provided in the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • The display 140 may display information and numerical values related to the user's upper body exercise in numbers, letters, etc., and the LED lights 145 may provide a visual effect that allows the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 to be easily identified outdoors.
  • The height of the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may be implemented as “e” (e.g., 2 cm), and the deviation “f” (e.g., 1 to 2 cm) may be implemented in order to form an oval shape such that a user can easily hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 by hand.
  • FIG. 4 is a view showing a state in which a disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention is viewed from the bottom.
  • Referring to FIG. 4 , the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may include an ultrasonic sensor 150, a sound effect selection button 160, an automatic button 165, manual buttons 170 and 175, a speaker 180, and a protrusion portion 190.
  • The ultrasonic sensor 150 may sense the movement of the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 when a user does his or her upper body exercise by placing the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 on his or her hand and moving it back and forth around the body (particularly, the head).
  • The ultrasonic sensor 150 may measure a movement distance (usually about 3 m) when a user places the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 on the right or left hand in a room and moves it back and forth around the body, and may check whether those of a preset exercise program match the user's movement/exercise number/exercise time.
  • When those of the preset exercise program do not match the user's movement/exercise number/exercise time, the processor 130 provides the user with information indicating that the user's movement/exercise number/exercise time needs to be changed/added by using at least one of the display 140, the LED lights 145, and the speaker 180.
  • When those of the preset exercise program match the user's movement/exercise number/exercise time, the processor 130 provides the user with information indicating that the user's movement/exercise number/exercise time are appropriate by using at least one of the display 140, the LED lights 145, and the speaker 180.
  • For example, the ultrasonic sensor 150 may sense the movement of the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 when the upper body exercise device 100 moves about 3 m back and forth (1.5 m back and 1.5 m forth) around a specific point at a height of 1.5 m to 2 m above the ground.
  • Although the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 includes only the ultrasonic sensor 150 in FIG. 4 , the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may include various sensors according to an implementation.
  • The disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may further include a photo sensor, a picking sensor, a thru-beam sensor, a waterproof ultrasonic sensor, etc.
  • When a user presses the sound effect selection button 160 for a preset time (e.g., 1 to 2 seconds), it may be turned on and provide various sound effects.
  • The sound effect selection button 160 may provide various sounds, such as various natural sounds (e.g., water droplet sounds, natural wind sounds, brook sounds, birdsongs, etc.), various musical instrument sounds (e.g., piano key sounds, violin sounds, etc.), other sounds (e.g., bicycle sounds, whistle sounds, space sounds, etc.), according to a user's preference.
  • When the user presses the automatic button 165, whether the user's movement is appropriate may be determined based on a preset action pattern by the processor 130 when the user puts the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 on the right or left hand indoors and moves it back and forth around the body.
  • In this case, the preset action pattern may include a movement in which the user moves back and forth about 3 m, a movement in which the user moves forth by 1.5 m, and a movement in which the user moves back by 1.5 m.
  • When the user's movement is determined to be appropriate by the processor 130, the user may be notified of this by using at least one of the display 140, the LED lights 145, and the speaker 180 according to the number of exercises.
  • For example, when the user presses the automatic button 165 and the processor 130 determines that the user's moving exercise is appropriate, the processor 130 may perform control so that when the user succeeds in 10 exercises, the LED lights 145 are turned on, the number of exercises are shown on the display 140, and audio information about 10 successful exercises is output through the speaker 180. Thereafter, the processor 130 may perform control so that when the user succeeds in 20 exercises, the LED lights 145 are turned on, the number of exercises is shown on the display 140, and audio information regarding 20 successful exercises is output through the speaker 180.
  • The manual buttons 170 and 175 may be implemented as two on the left and right sides of the lower part of the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 so that the user can hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 by using the left or right palm.
  • The manual buttons 170 and 175 have recessed shapes so that the user can hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 with his or her hand, and may also be called grip portions installed on the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100.
  • When the user presses the manual buttons 170 and 175 for a long time (e.g., about 1 to 2 seconds), the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 is turned on. In contrast, when the user presses the manual buttons 170 and 175 again for a long time (e.g., about 1 to 2 seconds), the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 may be turned off.
  • When the user presses the manual buttons 170 and 175 once during upper body exercise, a number may be shown on the display 140, the LED lights 145 may be lit up, or the number (e.g., one, two, three, etc.) may be output through the speaker 180.
  • The manual buttons 170 and 175 are formed in recessed shapes, so that the user's hand can be guided to be positioned on the manual buttons 170 and 175.
  • The speaker 180 may provide sounds selected by the sound effect selection button 160 or preset sounds under the control of the processor 130.
  • The protrusion portion 190 refers to a portion provided in the form of a protrusion so that the user can enhance the feeling of grip when holding the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 100 by hand.
  • FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating an exercise system including a disk-shaped upper body exercise device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Referring to FIG. 5 , the exercise system includes a disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200 and an electronic device 210 that communicates with the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200 and records and analyzes the upper body exercise information of a user according to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200.
  • The disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200 may include a disk-shaped body 201, a drag provision part groove 202, a drag providing part 203, a processor 204, at least one sensor 205, a display 206, a grip portion 207, a speaker 208, and a communication unit 209.
  • The drag provision part groove 202 is implemented in the form of a circular loop having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on the top of the disk-shaped body 201, and the drag provision part 203 may be attached to the drag provision part groove 202 and provide drag to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200.
  • The processor 204 may be installed inside the disk-shaped body 201, may check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on the measurement information measured by the at least one sensor 205, and may generate upper body exercise information, to be provided to the user, based on the results of the checking.
  • According to an embodiment, the processor 204 may perform control to select one of a plurality of exercise programs provided by the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200 in response to a user input, to generate a message, providing notification that at least one of the upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time of the user needs to be changed, based on the selected exercise program and the measurement information, and to provide the message to the user using at least one of the display 206 and the speaker 208.
  • The at least one sensor 205 is installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body 201. According to an embodiment, the at least one sensor 205 may include at least one of an ultrasonic sensor, an acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyro sensor, a photo sensor, a picking sensor, a thru-beam sensor, and a waterproof ultrasonic sensor.
  • The display 206 is installed on the side surface of the disk-shaped body 201, and may provide the upper body exercise information to the user under the control of the processor 204.
  • The grip portion 207 is provided on the lower part of the disk-shaped body 201, and may be implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.
  • The speaker 208 is installed on the bottom 201 of the disk-shaped body, and may provide at least one of upper body exercise information and preset sound information to the user under the control of the processor 204.
  • The communication unit 209 may transmit at least one of the measurement information measured by at least the one sensor 205 and the upper body exercise information generated by the processor 204 to the electronic device 210 under the control of the processor 204.
  • The electronic device 210 receives at least one of measurement information and upper body exercise information from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200, and an application 214 configured to record and analyze at least one of the measurement information and the upper body exercise information may be installed in the electronic device 210.
  • The electronic device 210 may be a mobile terminal such as a smartphone, a cellular phone, a personal communications services phone (PCS phone), a synchronous/asynchronous International Mobile Telecommunication-2000 (IMT-2000) terminal, or/and the like. In addition, it may be implemented as a tablet PC, a personal computer (PC), a notebook, a personal digital assistant (PDA), and/or the like.
  • The electronic device 210 includes a control unit 211, a communication unit 212, a database 213, and an application 214.
  • The control unit 211 may control the operations of the communication unit 212, the database 213, and the application 214. The communication unit 212 may receive information from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200, and may transmit a command of the electronic device 210 to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200.
  • According to an embodiment, the electronic device 210 may transmit information about a recommended exercise program to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200 based on the user's accumulated upper body exercise information.
  • The database 213 may store information received from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200, and may store information processed based on the information received from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device 200.
  • The method according to the above embodiments may be written as a program that can be executed on a computer, and can be implemented in a general-purpose digital computer that operates the program using a computer-readable storage medium. In addition, data structures, program instructions, or data files that can be used in the above-described embodiments of the present invention can be recorded on computer-readable storage media through various means. The computer-readable storage media may include all types of storage devices in which data readable by a computer system is stored.
  • Examples of the computer-readable storage media may include magnetic media such as hard disks, floppy disks and magnetic tapes, optical media such as CD-ROMs and DVDs, magneto-optical media such as floptical disks, and hardware devices specially configured to store and execute program instructions, such as ROM, RAM, flash memory, etc. Furthermore, the computer-readable storage media may be transmission media that transmit signals adapted to designate program instructions, data structures, and the like. Examples of the program instructions may include not only machine language codes generated by a compiler but also high-level language codes that can be executed by a computer using an interpreter or the like.
  • The embodiments disclosed in the present specification and the accompanying drawings are only presented as specific examples to easily describe and help to understand the content of the present disclosure, and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Therefore, the scope of the present disclosure should be construed as including all changes or modified forms derived based on the technical spirit of the present disclosure in addition to the embodiments disclosed herein.
  • INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
  • The present invention can be utilized in various exercise equipment and device technical fields.

Claims (10)

1. A disk-shaped upper body exercise device comprising:
a disk-shaped body;
a drag provision part groove implemented in a circular loop form having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on a top of the disk-shaped body;
at least one sensor installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body;
a processor installed inside the disk-shaped body, and configured to check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on measurement information measured by the at least one sensor, and to generate upper body exercise information, to be provided to a user, based on results of the checking;
a display installed on a side surface of the disk-shaped body, and configured to provide the upper body exercise information to the user under the control of the processor; and
a grip portion provided on a bottom of the disk-shaped body, and implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.
2. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 1, further comprising a drag provision part attached to the drag provision part groove and configured to provide drag to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device.
3. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor comprises at least one of an ultrasonic sensor, an acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyro sensor, a photo sensor, a picking sensor, a thru-beam sensor, and a waterproof ultrasonic sensor.
4. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 1, further comprising a speaker installed on a bottom of the disk-shaped body and configured to provide at least one of the upper body exercise information and preset sound information to the user under the control of the processor.
5. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 4, wherein the processor performs control to select one of a plurality of exercise programs provided by the disk-shaped upper body exercise device in response to a user input, to generate a message, providing notification that at least one of the upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time of the user needs to be changed, based on the selected exercise program and the measurement information, and to provide the message to the user using at least one of the display and the speaker.
6. An exercise system for providing upper body exercise information to a user, the exercise system comprising:
a disk-shaped upper body exercise device; and
an electronic device configured such that an application for receiving upper body exercise information from the disk-shaped upper body exercise device and recording and analyzing the upper body exercise information is installed thereon;
wherein the disk-shaped upper body exercise device comprising:
a disk-shaped body;
a drag provision part groove implemented in a circular loop form having a smaller diameter than the disk-shaped body on a top of the disk-shaped body;
at least one sensor installed inside or outside the disk-shaped body;
a processor installed inside the disk-shaped body, and configured to check at least one of the user's upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time based on measurement information measured by the at least one sensor, and to generate upper body exercise information, to be provided to a user, based on results of the checking;
a display installed on a side surface of the disk-shaped body, and configured to provide the upper body exercise information to the user under the control of the processor; and
a grip portion provided on a bottom of the disk-shaped body, and implemented to enable the user to hold the disk-shaped upper body exercise device with his or her hand.
7. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 6, further comprising a drag provision part attached to the drag provision part groove and configured to provide drag to the disk-shaped upper body exercise device.
8. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 6, wherein the at least one sensor comprises at least one of an ultrasonic sensor, an acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyro sensor, a photo sensor, a picking sensor, a thru-beam sensor, and a waterproof ultrasonic sensor.
9. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 6, further comprising a speaker installed on a bottom of the disk-shaped body and configured to provide at least one of the upper body exercise information and preset sound information to the user under the control of the processor.
10. The disk-shaped upper body exercise device of claim 9, wherein the processor performs control to select one of a plurality of exercise programs provided by the disk-shaped upper body exercise device in response to a user input, to generate a message, providing notification that at least one of the upper body exercise movement, exercise number, and exercise time of the user needs to be changed, based on the selected exercise program and the measurement information, and to provide the message to the user using at least one of the display and the speaker.
