Abstract

The invention (hereby known as Tee Buddy) is a t-post puller that removes t-posts for barb wire fences and other fence applications. The Tee Buddy attaches to the front bucket of a tractor using the chain and hook. The Tee Buddy is positioned over the t-post until the lever locks over one of the ridges of the t-post. Once the Tee Buddy is secured over the t-post and the chain is attached to the front bucket of the tractor, the operator lifts the t-post out of the ground. After the t-post is removed from the ground the operator manually operates the lever to allow the t-post to drop out of the Tee Buddy.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention (hereby known as Tee Buddy) is a t-post puller to aid in the safe and efficient removal of t-posts for barb wire fences and other fence applications.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART
  • Currently one must attach a chain to the T-post and pull up with the front or rear hydraulics of a tractor. This is unsafe and limiting to ranchers, farmers, and landowners.
  • SUMMARY
  • The objective of the Tee Buddy is to 1) allow for ease of t-post removal and 2) remove a t-post safely and efficiently without potential injury of the operator(s).
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1 shows the isometric view of the Tee Buddy along with identifying part numbers and illustrates how each part is assembled with respect to other parts.
  • FIG. 2 shows the parts list table that correspond to the identifying part numbers
  • FIG. 3 shows the placement dimensions of two internal parts, 5 & 8 as well as placement of other parts that can be identified from FIG. 1 .
  • FIG. 4 shows fabrication data for parts 1 and 3.
  • FIG. 5 shows fabrication data for parts 4, 5, and 6.
  • FIG. 6 shows fabrication data for parts 7 and 8.
  • FIG. 7 shows fabrication data for parts 9 and 11.
  • FIG. 8 shows fabrication data for parts 14.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • FIG. 1 shows the Tee Buddy as a piece of metal tubing (1) with a spring loaded handle (6) attached to a locking plate (3) and a chain on one end (12).
  • The Tee Buddy is made by welding two ¾″ plates inside the length of a square metal tube. The two inside plates will slide over t-post. A catch plate or locking mechanism (3) with handle (6) attached is mounted in a slotted hole in the square metal tube such that the catch plate will hold and lock on one of the many extrusions on the T-posts.
  • The metal tubing fits over a T-post and catches and locks on one of the many protrusions on the post. The chain is attached to the front bucket (or other implement) of the tractor and using the hydraulics of the tractor the T-post is pulled out of the ground quickly and safely.

Claims (1)

1. A t-post removal system, comprising:
a) a square metal tube that mounts over a standard t-post
b) a latching system that allows the tube to lock on to t-post
c) a mounting system to a tractor bucket that allows the hydraulic forces of the tractor to transfer through the removal system and pull a t-post out of the ground.
In conclusion the Tee Buddy is a device adapted for attachment to a tractor that will allow for the safe and efficient removal of metal t-posts.
