Abstract

The present invention discloses a drop-cut one piece jumpsuit that provides easy removal function at the back side without using snaps, zippers or buttons for the purpose of going to the bathroom. The components are a polyester-nylon thread that does not “snap” or tear and a strong elastic that withstand lifetime usage of the jumpsuit for various activities from exercising to basic fashionable function. The elastic is sewn within the fabric and stitching is done with durability in mind for repetitious usage and laundering. The jumpsuit is provided with a drop-cut along the waist region of the back that enables the women to reach to the backside of the jumpsuit with both hands, ensuring a reach to the elastic trim of the jumpsuit that is just along the drop-cut bottom order of the rear side of the jumpsuit just above the buttocks at the waist region of the back. The women can use the thumbs on both hands, tuck each thumb just under the drop-cut and finally drop the back of the jumpsuit underneath the bottom of the butt, as you squat down to use the restroom.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of jumpsuits. More particularly, the present invention is a drop cut one-piece jumpsuit.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A jumpsuit is a one-piece garment with sleeves and legs and typically without integral coverings for feet, hand or head. Jumpsuits are, without a doubt, a statement style. The head-to-toe, all-in-one garment creates a striking look that moves beyond a simple dress or pants and top combo, and into more fashionable territories. Jumpsuits are generally regarded as a garment of convenience, as they are simpler to wear. They are more of a put on and remove garment than an ensemble outfit. However, unless the jumpsuit has an opening on the rear (a “drop seat”), it is necessary to remove it entirely for bathroom use.
The jumpsuit made its first appearance in Vogue in Sep. 1964. Photographed by Irving Penn, the brown wool-jersey one-piece by Guy Laroche was paired with a sealskin jacket. It made a bold fashion statement and a few months later it had become a trend, with two “moon shot”-style jumpsuits in white jersey featuring as Vogue patterns in Jan. 1965.
By 1980, the jumpsuit had become so popular that the American designer Geoffrey Beene declared it “the ballgown of the next century”. But the style may have reached saturation as it fell out of favour until the early 2000s. Then in 2002, Nicolas Ghesquiere, who was at Balenciaga at the time, began experimenting with fabrics and patterns, sending an updated jumpsuit down the runway. And thus, the style was relaunched. Easy to wear, versatile and a little bit feisty, the jumpsuit has become a modern wardrobe staple.
Several prior attempts to deal with such problems have been utilized as set forth below.
United States Patent Publication No. US6944883B1 to Cuaz et. al. relates to a jumpsuit for meeting the needs of a woman. The jumpsuit has a circumferential fastener which when closed fully connects upper and lower portions of the suit. When the fastener is fully opened, the lower portion is partially separated from the upper portion. When the woman then squats, the lower portion may be pulled down the thighs away from the crotch.
United States Patent Publication No. US8898813B2 to Davis et. al. relates to a one-piece garments employing a drop seat panel configured or modified to permit the wearer to have restroom breaks or attend to other individual needs without being required to partially or fully remove the garment is disclosed. The garment has a horizontal separation at the back waistband that goes from side seam to side seam; vertical separation of the front of the garment from the back of the garment at the waistband and running down both side seams to the desired length.
However, the jumpsuits presently available do not provide easy removal function on the back side or either they deploy snaps, zippers or buttons for the purpose. Most jumpsuits require full removal from top to bottom, but the optimal point to the drop-cut jumpsuit disclosed here is the functionality of easy access to the personal region that makes restroom activity much more accessible and there is no removal required of the top part of the jumpsuit for these personal activities.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a drop-cut design one-piece jumpsuit for women for fitness and fashion that has the function of easy removal of the back side with no snaps, zippers or buttons, for the purpose of going to the bathroom.
Most jumpsuits require full removal from top (neckline of jumpsuit) to bottom however the present invention aims to solve the problem by providing functionality of easy access to the personal region making restroom activity more accessible and there is no removal required at the top part of the jumpsuit for these personal activities.
The jumpsuit can be made of variety of fabric combinations including but not limited to polyester, nylon, supplex, spandex, satin, rayon, silk, cotton, hemp, and other similar materials. The jumpsuit is stitched with polyester-nylon thread that does not snap or tear and has a durable elastic that lasts long with use or laundering. The pieces are sewn together with a special cut in scoop-line along the small of the back, just above the buttocks to assure easy removal and re-use.
In an embodiment of the present invention, when the user needs access to the personal region, the person wearing the jumpsuit simply needs to reach to the backside of the jumpsuit with both hands, ensuring a reach to the elastic trim of the jumpsuit that is just along the drop-cut bottom order of the rear side of the jumpsuit underneath the bottom of the butt, as you squat down to use the restroom. It is easier.
It is an objective of the present invention to provide a jumpsuit with a drop-cut along the waist region such that it allows women to use the restroom, groom or caretake without removal of the entire jumpsuit, with no added zippers, buttons, hooks, flaps or snaps.
As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention are not included to limit the scope of the present invention.

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIG. 1 to FIG. 6 thereof, drop-cut design one piece jumpsuit embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention is described.
Reference is made now to FIG. 1, illustrating a front view embodiment 100 of the present invention of the drop-cut one piece jumpsuit. The components used in drop-cut jump suit are polyester-nylon thread that does not “snap” or tear, lifetime guaranteed elastic that doesn't wear out with use or laundering, and a poly/supplex/spandex/nylon blend. The pieces are sewn together with a special cut in the scoop-line to assure easy removal and re-use, for around 5-10 years of usage of the jumpsuit for various activities from exercise activities to simple fashionable function. The elastic is sewn within the fabric and stitching is done with durability in mind for repetitious usage and laundering.
Reference is made now to FIG. 2, illustrating a rear-view embodiment 200 of the drop-cut one piece jumpsuit. The jumpsuit has cut at depth and angle with the intention of removal and replacement of garment during restrooms usage.
Reference is made now to FIG. 3, illustrating a side view embodiment 300 of the drop-cut one piece jumpsuit. A drop-cut 301 is made along the waist region of the back that allows women to tuck each thumb under the drop-cut and drop the back of the jumpsuit underneath the bottom of the butt, as the she squats down to use the restroom.
Reference is made now to FIG. 4, illustrating an enlarged embodiment 400 of the edge of the fabric wherein the fabric is folded twice 402 to stitch. The elastic is sewn within the fabric and stitching is done with durability in mind for repetitious usage and laundering.
For the front side construction, the fabric is double folded by a quarter inch at the edge with a 5/16 elastic band inside and overstitched on the inside and outside edge of the front top panel. The one-inch width dart detail on the center of the bust panel folded towards outside. The elastic 401 is slightly pulled and stretched before stitched on to the fabrics inner fold so it doesn't lie loosely around the bobbin, but don't pull it too much or it will be overstretched. All edges are sewed with elastic band inside. A quarter inch of flat fell seam is stitched on under bust panel overlapping the both bust panel and a quarter inch of fell seam needle top stitch is done overlapping the top waist panel. An overlock stitching is done on the crotch line connecting to both leg panel and also on the inseam connecting leg panel. A quarter inch single fold needle bottom cover stitch is done on the leg opening.
For the side construction a quarter inch bartack from the edge of the under bust connecting the opposite side of the strap end.
For back side construction right strap is made to overlap the left strap. A quarter inch double fold is made on the edge of the fabric with a 5/16 elastic band inside and overstitch on the edge of the waist panel continuing to the back of both leg panel and ending on the other side of the waist panel. The stitch is overlocked on the back leg seam connecting both leg panels.
Reference is made now to FIG. 5, illustrating another side view embodiment 500 of the drop-cut one piece jumpsuit depicting the cut and sewn edges 501 for easy pull down. All edges are sewed with elastic inside which enables easy pull down and snapping right back up into place on the back with elasticized cut. The jumpsuit is cut at depth and angle with the intention of removal and replacement of garment during restroom usage.
Reference is made now to FIG. 6, illustrating an exemplary embodiment 600 of the present invention describing how the drop-cut is used when needing access to the personal region. The person wearing the jumpsuit simply needs to reach to the backside of the jumpsuit with both hands, ensuring a reach to the elastic trim of the jumpsuit that is just along the “drop-cut” bottom border 601 of the rear side of the jumpsuit just above the buttocks at the lower waist region. Then using both the hands, tuck each thumb just under the “drop-cut” and finally, “drop” the back of the jumpsuit underneath the bottom of the butt, as user squat down to use the restroom. Drop-cut provides a mechanism of removal than even a pair of pants for accessing the personal area in the thigh and gluteus region.
By virtue of implementing the above embodiments, the invention provides a drop-cut one piece jumpsuit. Specific advantages of the jumpsuit with drop-cut include—personal uses related to grooming, care taking of the personal region for medications, toiletries, cleansing, or monthly needed maintenance.
While the exemplary embodiments of the present invention are described and illustrated herein, it will be appreciated that they are merely illustrative. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various modifications in form and detail may be made therein without departing from or offending the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims. Additionally, the invention illustratively disclosed herein suitably may be practiced in the absence of any element which is not specifically disclosed herein—and in particular embodiment specifically contemplated, is intended to be practiced in the absence of any element which is not specifically disclosed herein.

Claims

1. A drop-cut one piece jumpsuit comprising:

a drop-cut along a waist region of a back formed using an elastic

stitched using polyester-nylon thread such that pieces are sewn

together with a special cut and elasticized bordering in the scoop-line to

assure easy removal and re-use.

The drop-cut one piece jumpsuit according to claim 1, wherein a front side construction comprises of a fabric double folded by a quarter inch at an edge with an elastic band inside and overstitched on an inside and an outside edge of a front panel and one inch width dart detail on a center of a bust panel folded towards outside.

4. The drop-cut one piece jumpsuit according to claim 1, wherein all edges are sewed with elastic band inside.

5. The drop-cut one piece jumpsuit according to claim 1, wherein a quarter inch of flat fell seam is stitched on under bust panel overlapping the both bust panel and a quarter inch of fell seam needle top stitch is done overlapping the top waist panel.

6. The drop-cut one piece jumpsuit according to claim 1, wherein the side construction comprises of a quarter inch bartack from the edge of the under bus connecting the opposite side of the strap end.

The drop-cut one piece jumpsuit according to claim 1, wherein the back side construction comprises of an open back sewn with an elasticized border, wherein a quarter inch double fold made on the edge of the fabric with elastic band inside overstitched on the edge of the waist panel continuing to the back of both leg panel and ending on the other side of the waist panel.
