In no instance does the prior art disclose a wringer device that has a foot pedal and a handle which includes a pair of legs.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a mop bucket and a wringer that is positioned on the mop bucket. A handle is included that has a pair of legs each extending between a grip such that the handle has a U-shape. The handle is movably integrated into the wringer for wringing the mop. A foot pedal is movably disposed on the mop bucket and the foot pedal can be stepped upon. Additionally, the foot pedal is in mechanical communication with the wringer. The foot pedal urges the wringer into the compressed condition when the foot pedal is stepped upon to wring the mop.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a double action wringer assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a left side view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new wringer device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the doubleaction wringer assembly 10 generally comprises amop bucket 12 that has abottom wall 14 and anouter wall 16 extending upwardly from thebottom wall 14. Themop bucket 12 may be a commercial mop bucket of any conventional design. Awringer 18 is positioned on themop bucket 12 which can have a mop positioned therein for squeezing water from the mop. Thewringer 18 may be a commercial mop wringer of any conventional design. Thewringer 18 has a firstlateral wall 20 and a secondlateral wall 22, and thewringer 18 includes apanel 24 that is pivotally disposed in thewringer 18. - A
handle 26 is provided and thehandle 26 has a pair oflegs 28 each extending between agrip 30 such that thehandle 26 has a U-shape. Thehandle 26 is movably integrated into thewringer 18 and thehandle 26 can be gripped for wringing the mop. Thehandle 26 urges thewringer 18 into a compressed condition and thewringer 18 is biased into a released condition. Each of thelegs 28 has afoot 32 extending away from theleg 28, and thefoot 32 on each of thelegs 28 is directed toward each other. Thefoot 32 on each of thelegs 28 rotatably engages a respective one of the firstlateral wall 20 and the secondlateral wall 22 of thewringer 18. Additionally, thefoot 32 on each of thelegs 28 is coupled to respectivelateral edges 34 of thepanel 24 that is disposed in thewringer 18. Each of thelegs 28 is vertically oriented when thewringer 18 is in the released condition and thegrip 30 extends along a horizontal axis for gripping. - A
linkage 36 is coupled to and extends downwardly from thewringer 18. Thelinkage 36 has anupper end 38 and alower end 40, and theupper end 38 is coupled to thepanel 24. Thelinkage 36 extends downwardly along aback side 42 of theouter wall 16 of themop bucket 12, thelower end 40 has anotch 44 extending upwardly in thelower end 40. - A
foot pedal 46 is movably disposed on themop bucket 12 such that thefoot pedal 46 can be stepped upon. Thefoot pedal 46 is in mechanical communication with thewringer 18 and thefoot pedal 46 urges thewringer 18 into the compressed condition when thefoot pedal 46 is stepped upon. In this way thefoot pedal 46 can wring the mop in lieu of thehandle 26. Thefoot pedal 46 has afront end 48 and aback end 50, and thefoot pedal 46 is elongated between thefront end 48 and theback end 50. Thefoot pedal 46 extends along thebottom wall 14 of themop bucket 12 such that thefront end 48 is spaced in front of afront side 52 of theouter wall 16 of themop bucket 12. - The
back end 50 of thefoot pedal 46 has atab 54 extending away from theback end 50, and thetab 54 is positioned in thenotch 44 in thelower end 40 of thelinkage 36. A pair ofpivots 56 is each coupled to theback side 42 of theouter wall 16 of themop bucket 12. Thelower end 40 of thelinkage 36 and thetab 54 on theback end 50 of thefoot pedal 46 is positioned between thepivots 56. Each of thelower end 40 and thetab 54 on theback end 50 of thefoot pedal 46 is pivotally coupled to thepivots 56. - In use, the pair of
legs 28 in thehandle 26 facilitates thehandle 26 to be manipulated from either the left side or the right side of thewringer 18. In this way thehandle 26 improves the function of thewringer 18. Thefoot pedal 46 can be stepped upon to urge the wringer 18 into the compressed position. In this way the wringer 18 can be actuated in a hands-free manner to wring the mop. Thus, the structure of thehandle 26 and thefoot pedal 46 improve the function of the wringer 18 compared to a traditional mop wringer. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
