Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to personal protective equipment (PPE). More particularly, it relates to a cover device form of PPE for protecting against virus and disease.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed to have reached the United States in Jan. 2020. The first confirmed case of local transmission was recorded in January, while the first known deaths happened in February. By the end of March, cases had occurred in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and all inhabited U.S. territories except American Samoa. As of Jun. 24, 2020, the U.S. had the most confirmed active cases and deaths in the world. As of Jul. 16, 2020, its death rate was 419 per million people, the seventh-highest rate globally.
  • The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a recommendation to the US population for prevention of contracting COVID 19 as well as other infectious diseases. Those recommendations are: 1) wash hands often; 2) avoid close contact (social distancing); 3) cover mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others; 4) cover cough or sneezes; 5) clean and disinfect; and 6) monitor your health daily.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE such as a face mask or face shield, aims to protect the wearer's entire face (or part of it) from hazards such as flying objects and road debris, chemical splashes (in laboratories or in industry), or potentially infectious materials (in medical and laboratory environments). With the recent CDC guidelines for COVID-19 pandemic, many have turned to shields that cover at least a part of their face, in particular their nose and mouth.
  • Recent events in our history remind us how susceptible humans are to contaminants in the air we breathe and the bacteria, disease and/or virus that another person may knowingly or unknowingly carry with them. The is currently no PPE available that is available that can allow one with a need or desire to hug another. While PPE is still being developed, it leaves a basic human need for being facilitated.
  • Accordingly, and in light of the foregoing, there exists a need for a device in a person can be protected from bacteria, virus and other contaminants while hugging another person.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1A and FIG. 1B are illustrated views of an exemplary body protective cover device.
  • FIG. 2 is an illustrated use of the body protective cover device shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B.

In alternate embodiments, additional devices, or combinations of illustrated devices, may be added to, or combined, without limiting the scope to the embodiments disclosed herein.
  • Referring to FIG. 1A and FIG. 1B, illustrative views of an exemplary body protective cover device 100 for protecting people while hugging from transfer of an infectious disease is presented. The body protective cover device 100 is useful for preventing transfer of an infectious disease such as COVID-19. Also, the body protective cover device 100 is cost effective, easy to use and disposable.
  • The body protective cover device 100 is made of a clear polyethylene material, however other materials are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, plastic, vinyl, etc. The body protective cover device 100 preferably comes in three (3) sizes, large, medium and small, however any other number of sizes are hereby contemplated.
  • The large sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a width of six (6) feet, however other widths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, six (6) feet, seven (7) feet, etc. The medium sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a width of four and one-half (4.5) feet, however other widths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, three and one-half (3.5) feet, five (5) feet, etc. The small sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a width of three (3) feet, however other widths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, three and one-fourth (3.25) feet, two (2) feet, etc.
  • The large sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a length of five (5) feet, however other lengths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, four and one-half (4.5) feet, six (6) feet, etc. The medium sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a length of three (3) feet, however other lengths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, two and three-fourth (2.75) feet, four (4) feet, etc. The small sized body protective cover device 100 preferably has a length of two (2) feet, however other lengths are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, one (1) foot, two and one-fourth (2.25) feet, etc.
  • The body protective cover device 100 has front 200 (FIG. 1A), a back 300 (FIG. 1B), an inside 400, a bottom 500 and a seam 600. The seam 600 is configured at a first side 101, a second side 102 and a top 103 of the body protective cover device 100. The seam 600 is configured to prevent an opening which would allow bacteria or virus of an infectious disease.
  • In FIG. 1A, the front 200 has a middle portion 201 and a print area 202. The print area 202 is configured to be in the middle portion 201 of the front 200.
  • In FIG. 1B, the back 300 has a middle portion 301 and a plurality of holes 302. The plurality of holes 302 of the back 300 allow for air to flow in and out of the body protective cover device 100 and also to dissipate heat of a person wearing the body protective cover device 100. The plurality of holes 302 are configured to be in the middle portion 301 of the back 300 of the body protective cover 100.
  • The bottom 500 has an opening 501. The opening 501 of the bottom 500 of the body protective cover device 100 is configured to provide access to the inside 400 of the body protective cover device 100 when the person is putting the body protective cover device 100 on.
  • Moving now to FIG. 2, an illustrated use of a person 900 wearing the body protective cover device 100 is presented. The person 900 has a head 901, a pair of shoulders 902, 903, a pair of arms 904, 905 and a torso 906.
  • The body protective cover device 100 is taken out of storage. The body protective device 100 is moved over the head 901 of the person 900, where the arms 904, 905 are placed through the opening 501 of the bottom 500 and inside 400 of the body protective cover device 100.
  • The arms 904, 905 are used to open the inside 400 of the body protective cover device 100 to allow for the head 901, shoulders 902, 903, arms 904, 905 and torso 906 of the person to be on the inside 400 of the body protective cover device 100. Once in place, the person 900 can enjoy a protective hug where they don't have to worry about being contaminated with a virus, bacteria or infectious disease.
