Abstract
An article of manufacture for providing bathroom sanitary aids, and more specifically, an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield is disclosed. The toilet wall and vanity shield includes a rear wall shield component having aa left edge, a right edge, a rear wall lip extending along a bottom edge, a pair of stud legs coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip, one about each outer end of the real wall fluid retaining lip, a pair of side wall shield component each having an inner edge, an outer edge, and a side wall lip extending along a bottom edge from the inner edge to the outer edge of each side wall shield component, and side wall stud leg coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip on each of the pair of side wall shield components. Each of the side wall stud let located one about each outer edge of the side wall fluid retaining lips. The inner edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component, and the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
Description
- This application relates in general to an article of manufacture for providing bathroom sanitary aids, and more specifically, to an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield.
- Young boys and older men are notorious for having poor aim at the center of a toilet while standing. As such, urine may be found splashed about all sides of the walls and items near the toilet, as well as dripping onto the floor as it dries. This problem creates a mess as well as an unsanitary condition about a toilet for other users.
- Therefore, a need exists for an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield. The present invention attempts to address the limitations and deficiencies in prior solutions according to the principles and example embodiments disclosed herein.
- In accordance with the present invention, the above and other problems are solved by providing an article of manufacture for a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the principles and example embodiments disclosed herein.
- In one embodiment, the present invention is an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield. The toilet wall and vanity shield includes a rear wall shield component having aa left edge, a right edge, a rear wall lip extending along a bottom edge, a pair of stud legs coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip, one about each outer end of the real wall fluid retaining lip, a pair of side wall shield component each having an inner edge, an outer edge, and a side wall lip extending along a bottom edge from the inner edge to the outer edge of each side wall shield component, and side wall stud leg coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip on each of the pair of side wall shield components. Each of the side wall stud let located one about each outer edge of the side wall fluid retaining lips. The inner edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component, and the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a carrying handle about a top edge of the rear wall shield component.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a toilet plumbing opening.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, the toilet plumbing opening being located about a bottom edge of the rear wall shield component extending through the rear wall lip.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, a sealing cap being coupled to each open end of the rear wall fluid retaining lip and the side wall lips to retain any liquid and other material.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, the rear wall shield component and both of the side wall shield components are made of a material comprising plastic, metal, aluminum, and metal.
- In another aspect of the present disclosure, the outer edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component, and the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
- The foregoing has outlined rather broadly the features and technical advantages of the present invention in order that the detailed description of the invention that follows may be better understood. Additional features and advantages of the invention will be described hereinafter that form the subject of the claims of the invention.
- It should be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the conception and specific embodiment disclosed may be readily utilized as a basis for modifying or designing other structures for carrying out the same purposes of the present invention. It should also be realized by those skilled in the art that such equivalent constructions do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims. The novel features that are believed to be characteristic of the invention, both as to its organization and method of operation, together with further objects and advantages will be better understood from the following description when considered in connection with the accompanying figures. It is to be expressly understood, however, that each of the figures is provided for the purpose of illustration and description only and is not intended as a definition of the limits of the present invention.

FIGS. 2a-b illustrate other views of an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the present invention. - This application relates in general to a system and method for providing bathroom sanitary aids, and more specifically, to an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the present invention.
- Various embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals represent like parts and assemblies throughout the several views. Reference to various embodiments does not limit the scope of the invention, which is limited only by the scope of the claims attached hereto. Additionally, any examples set forth in this specification are not intended to be limiting and merely set forth some of the many possible embodiments for the claimed invention.
- In describing embodiments of the present invention, the following terminology will be used. The singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” include plural referents unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Thus, for example, reference to “a needle” includes reference to one or more of such needles and “etching” includes one or more of such steps. As used herein, a plurality of items, structural elements, compositional elements, and/or materials may be presented in a common list for convenience. However, these lists should be construed as though each member of the list is individually identified as a separate and unique member. Thus, no individual member of such list should be construed as a de facto equivalent of any other member of the same list solely based on their presentation in a common group without indications to the contrary. As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
- It further will be understood that the terms “comprises,” “comprising,” “includes,” and “including” specify the presence of stated features, steps or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, steps or components. It also should be noted that in some alternative implementations, the functions and acts noted may occur out of the order noted in the figures. For example, two figures shown in succession may in fact be executed substantially concurrently or may sometimes be executed in the reverse order, depending upon the functionality and acts involved.
- The terms “man,” and “user” refer to an entity, e.g. a human, using the toilet wall and vanity shield associated with the invention. The term user herein refers to one or more users.
- The term “invention” or “present invention” refers to the invention being applied for via the patent application with the title “Toilet Wall Shield.” Invention may be used interchangeably with shield.
- In general, the present disclosure relates to an article of manufacture for providing bathroom sanitary aids. To better understand the present invention,
FIG. 1 illustrates an example embodiment of an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the present invention. Thetoilet wall shield 100 comprises a larger rearwall shield component 101 and a pair of side wall shield components 102 a-b. Each of the components has afluid retaining lip 103, 104 a-b along their respective lower edges to prevent any fluid that comes in contact with theshields 101, 102 a-b from reaching the floor about atoilet 150. - The rear
wall shield component 101 is wide enough to cover the entire wall space behind a toilet and some additional space on either side of the toilet. The rearwall shield component 101 extends upward from the floor to a point above the top of a water tank of the toilet. Thefluid retaining lip 103 of the rearwall shield component 101 extends along the entire length of the rearwall shield component 101. - Each of the side wall shield components 102 a-b covers a portion of a wall or vanity that is located on either side of the toilet. The side wall shield components 102 a-b typically extend upward from the floor for a distance that covers most of the side of a vanity. The side wall shield components 102 a-b should extend outward from the real wall a distance of either the typical width of the vanity or to about a front edge of the toilet. The fluid retaining lips 104 a-b of the side wall shields 102 a-b also extend the width of the shield with an inner edge that engages the
lower lip 103 of the realwall shield component 101 in a manner that ensures that any fluid caught by these lips does not leak onto the floor. Each of the fluid retaining lips 104 a-n of the side wall shield components 104 a-b are enclosed with a cap attached to an outer end of each fluid retaining lips 104 a-b. - The rear
wall shield component 101 and the side wall shield components 102 a-b typically are easily installed and removed for cleaning. Theseshield wall components 101, 102 a-n are typically made of plastic or similar synthetic material that is lightweight and durable. Theshield wall components 101, 102 a-b also may be made of metal, aluminum or similar material. These components are typically 2″ thick. -
FIGS. 2a-b illustrate other views of an article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield according to the present invention. Theshield 100 is a free-standing apparatus having thereal wall component 101 and a pair of side wall components 102 a-b, both of which are on a set of stud legs 106 a-b. Two of thestud legs 106 b-c are coupled to a bottom surface of therear wall component 101. The remaining twostud legs 106 a, d are each coupled to a bottom surface of one of the two side wall components 102 a-b. - A carrying
handle 201 is coupled to the rearwall shield component 101 about a top edge. The carryinghandle 201 may be a through hole in the rearwall shield component 101. In other embodiments, the carryinghandle 201 may be an attached handle extended from the rearwall shield component 101. - A
toilet plumbing opening 202 is located within the rearwall shield component 101 from a bottom edge of the rear wall shield component oriented upward to permit theshield 100 to be positioned behind thetoilet 150. Thetoilet plumbing opening 202 extends through thelip 103 to the rearwall shield component 101 in order to allow water source plumbing (not shown to pass from the wall to thetoilet 150. - Even though particular combinations of features are recited in the present application, these combinations are not intended to limit the disclosure of the invention. In fact, many of these features may be combined in ways not specifically recited in this application. In other words, any of the features mentioned in this application may be included to this new invention in any combination or combinations to allow the functionality required for the desired operations.
- No element, act, or instruction used in the present application should be construed as critical or essential to the invention unless explicitly described as such. Further, the phrase “based on” is intended to mean “based, at least in part, on” unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Claims (7)
1. An article of manufacture for providing a toilet wall and vanity shield, the toilet wall and vanity shield comprises:
a rear wall shield component having aa left edge, a right edge, a rear wall lip extending along a bottom edge;
a pair of stud legs coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip, one about each outer end of the real wall fluid retaining lip;
a pair of side wall shield component each having an inner edge, an outer edge, and a side wall lip extending along a bottom edge from the inner edge to the outer edge of each side wall shield component; and
side wall stud leg coupled to a bottom surface of the rear wall lip on each of the pair of side wall shield components, each of the side wall stud let located one about each outer edge of the side wall fluid retaining lips;
wherein the inner edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component; and
the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
2. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 1 , wherein the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a carrying handle about a top edge of the rear wall shield component.
3. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 2 , wherein the toilet wall and vanity shield further comprises a toilet plumbing opening.
4. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 3 , wherein the toilet plumbing opening being located about a bottom edge of the rear wall shield component extending through the rear wall lip.
5. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 3 , wherein a sealing cap being coupled to each open end of the rear wall fluid retaining lip and the side wall lips to retain any liquid and other material.
6. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 3 , wherein the rear wall shield component and both of the side wall shield components are made of a material comprising plastic, metal, aluminum, and metal.
7. The toilet wall and vanity shield according to claim 1 , wherein
the outer edge a first side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the right edge of a rear wall shield component; and
the inner edge a second side wall component of the pair of side wall shield components being coupled to the left edge of a rear wall shield component.
