Abstract
A storage assembly for storing and protecting wigs includes a cabinet and a plurality of forms. The cabinet has a front, which is open. A door hingedly engaged to the cabinet is positioned to selectively close the front. A set of shelves is engaged to and positioned within the cabinet. Each form is engaged to a respective shelf or a bottom of the cabinet can have a respective wig positioned thereupon so that the respective wig is engaged thereto.

- The disclosure relates to storage assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new storage assembly for storing and protecting wigs. The present invention discloses a storage assembly for wigs comprising a cabinet configured for positioning of wigs therein, such that the cabinet shields the wigs from the environment.
- The prior art relates to storage assemblies for wigs. Such art storage assemblies may comprise stands upon which multiple wigs can be positioned. The stands are open and the wigs are exposed to the environment in which the stand is positioned. What is lacking in the prior art is a storage assembly for wigs comprising a cabinet configured for positioning of wigs therein, such that the cabinet shields the wigs from the environment.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cabinet and a plurality of forms. The cabinet has a front, which is open. A door hingedly engaged to the cabinet is positioned to selectively close the front. A set of shelves is engaged to and positioned within the cabinet. Each form is engaged to a respective shelf or a bottom of the cabinet and is configured to have positioned thereupon a respective wig so that the respective wig is engaged thereto.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new storage assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , thestorage assembly 10 generally comprises acabinet 12 and a plurality offorms 14. Thecabinet 12 has afront 16, which is open. Thecabinet 12 has a back 18, which also may be open, as shown inFIG. 3 . Adoor 20 hingedly engaged to thecabinet 12 is positioned to selectively close thefront 16. Thedoor 20 may be one of a pair ofdoors 20, as shown inFIG. 2 . Eachdoor 20 is hingedly engaged to a respectiveopposed side 22 of thecabinet 12. With the back 18 being open, the present invention also anticipates another door 20 (not shown) being engaged to thecabinet 12 for closing the back 18. - A set of
castors 24 is rotationally engaged to abottom 26 of thecabinet 12. Thecastors 24 are configured to allow locomotion of thecabinet 12 upon a surface. The set ofcastors 24 comprises fourcastors 24 positioned singly proximate tocorners 28 of thebottom 26. Thecastors 24 positioned proximate to thefront 16 of thecabinet 12 are selectively lockable so that thecastors 24 are prevented from rotating. - A
first connector 30 is engaged to onedoor 20 of the pair ofdoors 20. Asecond connector 32 is engaged to theother door 20 of the pair ofdoors 20. Thesecond connector 32 is complementary to thefirst connector 30. Thesecond connector 32 is positioned to selectively engage thefirst connector 30 to secure the pair ofdoors 20 across thefront 16 of thecabinet 12. Thesecond connector 32 may comprise alatch 34 and thefirst connector 30 may comprise astriker 36, as shown inFIG. 2 . The present invention anticipates thesecond connector 32 and thefirst connector 30 comprising other closing means, such as, but not limited to, cabin hooks, magnetic closures, and the like. - Each of a pair of
knobs 38 is engaged to arespective door 20 of the pair ofdoors 20. Theknob 38 is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user so that the user is positioned to pull on theknob 38 to open therespective door 20. Arespective knob 38 is engaged to thelatch 34 and is rotatable relative to thedoor 20 to which therespective knob 38 is engaged. Therespective knob 38 is configured to be turned to selectively engage thelatch 34 to thestriker 36. - A set of
shelves 40 is engaged to and positioned within thecabinet 12. Eachshelf 40 extends between theopposed sides 22 of thecabinet 12. Eachshelf 40 is positioned substantially equally distant from thefront 16 and the back 18 of thecabinet 12. Eachshelf 40 has adepth 42, which is less than aseparation 44 between thefront 16 and the back 18 of thecabinet 12. Theshelf 40 thus is separated by afirst gap 46 from the back 18 and by asecond gap 48 from thefront 16. - The set of
shelves 40 and thecabinet 12 define a plurality ofchambers 50. Eachchamber 50 has arespective height 52 so that the plurality ofchambers 50 compriseschambers 50 having a variety ofheights 52. The plurality ofchambers 50 may comprise anupper compartment 54, amedial compartment 56, and alower compartment 58, as shown inFIG. 2 . Theupper compartment 54 has aheight 52 greater than that of themedial compartment 56, and themedial compartment 56 has aheight 52 greater than that of thelower compartment 58. - Each
form 14 is engaged to arespective shelf 40 or thebottom 26 of thecabinet 12 and is configured to have positioned thereupon a respective wig so that the respective wig is engaged thereto. The plurality offorms 14 may comprise nineforms 14 positioned three apiece in each of theupper compartment 54, themedial compartment 56, and thelower compartment 58, as shown inFIG. 2 . The present invention also anticipates the plurality offorms 14 comprising more or less than nineforms 14, such as, but not limited to, fourforms 14, sixforms 14, and twelveforms 14. - Each
form 14 comprises apost 60 and ablock 62, with theblock 62 being engaged to thepost 60 distal from an associatedshelf 40 or the bottom 26 of thecabinet 12. Theblock 62 is substantially spherically shaped and thus is complementary to a foundation of a wig. Eachpost 60 has arespective length 64 so that the plurality offorms 14 comprisesforms 14 havingposts 60 of a variety oflengths 64. Theforms 14 positioned in theupper compartment 54 haveposts 60 ofgreater length 64 than theforms 14 positioned in themedial compartment 56. Theforms 14 positioned in themedial compartment 56 haveposts 60 ofgreater length 64 than theforms 14 positioned in thelower compartment 58. Theforms 14 positioned in theupper compartment 54, themedial compartment 56, and thelower compartment 58 are configured to have long wigs, medium wigs, and short wigs positioned thereupon, respectively. - The
cabinet 12 may be one of a pair ofcabinets 12, as shown inFIG. 5 . The pair ofcabinets 12 comprises anupper cabinet 66, which has alower end 68 that is configured to selectively engage a top 70 of alower cabinet 72. Theupper cabinet 66 thus is selectively stackable upon and engageable to thelower cabinet 72. - The top 70 of the
lower cabinet 72 has a set ofpegs 74 extending therefrom. Thelower end 68 of theupper cabinet 66 has a set ofholes 76 extending thereinto. Eachpeg 74 is selectively insertable into arespective hole 76 to selectively engage theupper cabinet 66 to thelower cabinet 72. The set ofpegs 74 comprises fourpegs 74 positioned singly proximate to eachcorner 78 of the top 70. - In use, the
cabinet 12 is positioned in a desired location by rolling it upon thecastors 24. Thedoors 20 can be opened, to allow a user to position wigs upon theforms 14, and then closed. Longer wigs positioned onforms 14 in theupper compartment 54 can hang through thesecond gap 48 into themedial compartment 56. Medium wigs positioned onforms 14 in themedial compartment 56 can hang through thesecond gap 48 into thelower compartment 58. Short wigs can be positioned onforms 14 in thelower compartment 58. The wigs thus stored are not subject to matting and are protected from the environment in which thecabinet 12 is positioned. Thedoors 20 can be reopened when access to the wigs is required. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (20)
1. A storage assembly comprising:
a cabinet, the cabinet having a front, the front being open;
a door hingedly engaged to the cabinet, such that the door is positioned for selectively closing the front;
a set of shelves engaged to and positioned within the cabinet, wherein the set of shelves and the cabinet define a plurality of chambers, each chamber having a respective height such that the plurality of chambers comprises chambers having a variety of heights;
a plurality of forms, each form being engaged to a respective shelf or a bottom of the cabinet and being configured for positioning of a respective wig thereupon, such that the respective wig is engaged thereto; and
wherein each form comprises a post and a block, the block being engaged to the post distal from an associated shelf, the block being substantially spherically shaped, such that the block is complementary to a foundation of a wig, each post having a respective length, such that the plurality of forms comprises forms having posts of a variety of lengths, the forms positioned in the upper compartment having posts of greater length than the forms positioned in the medial compartment, the forms positioned in the medial compartment having posts of greater length than the forms positioned in the lower compartment, wherein the forms positioned in the upper compartment, the medial compartment, and the lower compartment are configured for having long wigs, medium wigs and short wigs positioned thereupon, respectively.
2. The storage assembly of claim 1 , further including a set of castors rotationally engaged to the bottom of the cabinet, wherein the castors are configured for locomoting the cabinet upon a surface.
3. The storage assembly of claim 2 , wherein the set of castors comprises four castors positioned singly proximate to corners of the bottom of the cabinet.
4. The storage assembly of claim 3 , wherein the castors positioned proximate to the front of the cabinet are selectively lockable, such that the castors are prevented from rotating.
5. The storage assembly of claim 1 , wherein the door is one of a pair of doors, each door being hingedly engaged to a respective opposed side of the cabinet.
6. The storage assembly of claim 5 , further including:
a first connector engaged to one door of the pair of doors; and
a second connector engaged to the other door of the pair of doors, the second connector being complementary to the first connector, such that the second connector is positioned for selectively engaging the first connector for securing the pair of doors across the front of the cabinet.
7. The storage assembly of claim 6 , wherein the second connector comprises a latch and the first connector a striker.
8. The storage assembly of claim 5 , further including a pair of knobs, each knob being engaged to a respective door of the pair of doors, wherein the knob is configured for grasping in a hand of a user, positioning the user for pulling on the knob for opening the respective door.
9. The storage assembly of claim 7 , further including:
a pair of knobs, each knob being engaged to a respective door of the pair of doors, wherein the knob is configured for grasping in a hand of a user, positioning the user for pulling on the knob for opening the respective door; and
a respective knob being engaged to the latch and rotatable relative to the door to which the respective knob is engaged, wherein the respective knob is configured for turning for selectively engaging the latch to the striker.
10. The storage assembly of claim 1 , wherein each shelf extends between opposed sides of the cabinet, each shelf being positioned substantially equally distant from the front and a back of the cabinet, each shelf having a depth less than a separation between the front and the back of the cabinet, such that the shelf is separated by a first gap from the back and by a second gap from the front.

12. The storage assembly of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of chambers comprising an upper compartment, a medial compartment, and a lower compartment.
13. The storage assembly of claim 12 , wherein the upper compartment has a height greater than the medial compartment, the medial compartment having a height greater than the lower compartment.
14. The storage assembly of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of forms comprising nine forms positioned three apiece in each of the upper compartment, the medial compartment, and the lower compartment.
15. The storage assembly of claim 1 , wherein each form comprises a post and a block, the block being engaged to the post distal from an associated shelf or the bottom of the cabinet, the block being substantially spherically shaped, such that the block is complementary to a foundation of a wig.

The storage assembly of claim 1 , further including the cabinet being one of a pair of cabinets, the pair of cabinets comprising an upper cabinet having a lower end configured for selectively engaging a top of a lower cabinet, such that the upper cabinet is selectively stackable upon and engageable to the lower cabinet.
18. The storage assembly of claim 17 , wherein:
the top of the lower cabinet has set of pegs extending therefrom; and
the lower end of the upper cabinet has a set of holes extending thereinto, such that each peg is selectively insertable into a respective hole for selectively engaging the upper cabinet to the lower cabinet, the set of pegs comprising four pegs positioned singly proximate to each corner of the top.
19. The storage assembly of claim 1 , wherein a back of the cabinet is open.
20. A storage assembly comprising:
a cabinet, the cabinet having a front and a back, the front and the back being open;
a set of castors rotationally engaged to a bottom of the cabinet, wherein the castors are configured for locomoting the cabinet upon a surface, the set of castors comprising four castors positioned singly proximate to corners of the bottom, the castors positioned proximate to the front of the cabinet being selectively lockable, such that the castors are prevented from rotating;
a door hingedly engaged to the cabinet, such that the door is positioned for selectively closing the front, the door being one of a pair of doors, each door being hingedly engaged to a respective opposed side of the cabinet;
a first connector engaged to one door of the pair of doors;
a second connector engaged to the other door of the pair of doors, the second connector being complementary to the first connector, such that the second connector is positioned for selectively engaging the first connector for securing the pair of doors across the front of the cabinet, the second connector comprising a latch and the first connector a striker;
a pair of knobs, each knob being engaged to a respective door of the pair of doors, wherein the knob is configured for grasping in a hand of a user, positioning the user for pulling on the knob for opening the respective door, a respective knob being engaged to the latch and rotatable relative to the door to which the respective knob is engaged, wherein the respective knob is configured for turning for selectively engaging the latch to the striker;
a set of shelves engaged to and positioned within the cabinet, each shelf extending between opposed sides of the cabinet, each shelf being positioned substantially equally distant from the front and the back of the cabinet, each shelf having a depth less than a separation between the front and the back of the cabinet, such that the shelf is separated by a first gap from the back and by a second gap from the front, the set of shelves and the cabinet defining a plurality of chambers, each chamber having a respective height such that the plurality of chambers comprises chambers having a variety of heights, the plurality of chambers comprising an upper compartment, a medial compartment, and a lower compartment, the upper compartment having a height greater than the medial compartment, the medial compartment having a height greater than the lower compartment;
a plurality of forms, each form being engaged to a respective shelf or the bottom of the cabinet and being configured for positioning of a respective wig thereupon, such that the respective wig is engaged thereto, the plurality of forms comprising nine forms positioned three apiece in each of the upper compartment, the medial compartment, and the lower compartment, each form comprising a post and a block, the block being engaged to the post distal from an associated shelf or the bottom of the cabinet, the block being substantially spherically shaped, such that the block is complementary to a foundation of a wig, each post having a respective length, such that the plurality of forms comprises forms having posts of a variety of lengths, the forms positioned in the upper compartment having posts of greater length than the forms positioned in the medial compartment, the forms positioned in the medial compartment having posts of greater length than the forms positioned in the lower compartment, wherein the forms positioned in the upper compartment, the medial compartment, and the lower compartment are configured for having long wigs, medium wigs, and short wigs positioned thereupon, respectively; and
the cabinet being one of a pair of cabinets, the pair of cabinets comprising an upper cabinet having a lower end configured for selectively engaging a top of a lower cabinet, such that the upper cabinet is selectively stackable upon and engageable to the lower cabinet, the top of the lower cabinet having set of pegs extending therefrom, the lower end of the upper cabinet having a set of holes extending thereinto, such that each peg is selectively insertable into a respective hole for selectively engaging the upper cabinet to the lower cabinet, the set of pegs comprising four pegs positioned singly proximate to each corner of the top.
