Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention seeks to provide improved backpack/bookbag features, equipment, and assemblies.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • A Backpack/bookbag that converts into a workstation/desk via A SINGLE telescopic leg housed on the REAR FACE of the backpack/bookbag. All other patents using a telescopic leg have two or more legs, most commonly, four legs. My advanced backpack/bookbag only has one telescopic (extendable and retractable) leg that can be extended out to reach over three feet in height, complete with a chair for sitting and other features.
  • Travelers and commuters have long used backpacks/bookbags to carry various items. Students use backpack/bookbags to carry their school books and supplies, while hikers utilize backpacks/bookbags for housing their hiking supplies. However, backpack/bookbags have been limited in their usage to simply being a carrying case and housing unit. All this will change as the advanced backpack/bookbag can transform into a workable desk where students can now do their school assignments on their front steps, back porch, at a park sitting, on the subway, or at a coffee shop with a chair for sitting. Hikers can use their advanced backpack/bookbag to set up a dining table with a chair on a mountain top. NO OTHER backpack/bookbag has either Single telescopic leg support or a chair, whereas our advanced backpack/bookbag features both.
  • The advanced backpack/bookbag also has two USB ports where users can charge their phones and other electronic devices simultaneously. The advanced “smart” backpack/bookbag features a rechargeable battery to power the USB port, a cup holder for beverages, a voice-activated-digital assistant application, a phone holder for hand-free working, a portable chair for sitting, a desktop surface that can extend out to create a larger desktop surface, a Bluetooth speaker mounted on the telescopic leg to play music and for phone calls, wheels on the base of the telescopic leg for easy transportation while using the backpack/bookbag as a desk, wheels on the bottom of the backpack/bookbag for easy traveling and a tablet computer for video conference, watching movies and any other usage of a Tablet computer all of which, including a backpack/bookbag having a SINGLE telescopic leg, is not readily available on conventional backpack/bookbags. The use of combination backpack/bookbags and a hard surface work table/desk with a SINGLE telescopic leg is not known in the other patents, specifically, combination backpack/bookbag and desktop with a single telescopic leg.
  • The use of combination backpack/bookbag and workstation/desk is known in the other patents. More specifically, combination backpack/bookbag and work table heretofore devised and utilized are known to consist basically of familiar, expected, and apparent structural configuration, notwithstanding the myriad of designs encompassed by the prior art developed for the fulfillment of countless objectives and requirements.
  • Known prior arts includes U.S. Pat. No. 7,593,222B2; U.S. Pat. Nos. 4,856,627; 6,068,355; 4,790,416; 5,242,218; 4,244,632; U.S. Pat. No. Des. 394,954; U.S. Pat. No. 6,811,006B1; U.S. Pat. No. 2010/0124013 A1; U.S. Pat. No. 2002/0057552 A1; and U.S. patent Ser. No. 00/759,3222B2.
  • While these devices fulfill their respective particular objective and requirements, the patents mentioned above do not disclose a new backpack/bookbag with a SINGLE telescopic leg, a portable chair, Bluetooth speakers, and a Tablet computer, amongst other things. Prior art stopped solely as a housing unit for books and supplies. At the same time, mine advanced it by becoming a combination backpack/bookbag and workstation/desk via a single telescopic leg.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A convertible backpack/bookbag, which has a first operative orientation in which it functions as a backpack/bookbag, and a second operative orientation in which it functions as a SINGLE leg supported workstation/desk. In a carrying, or backpack/bookbag, operative orientation, a Base Portion of the backpack/bookbag is disposed substantially parallel to a Front Portion of the backpack/bookbag, and the Base Portion can detach from the Front Portion. In this operative orientation, singular telescopic leg support structures are housed within a lower compartment of the backpack/bookbag. The Base Portion is partially or fully detached from the Front Portion in a converted, workstation operative orientation. The single telescopic extendable and retractable leg support structures are in an extended mode perpendicularly away from the backpack/bookbag to support the backpack/bookbag on a support surface, such as a floor or any other base surface.
  • The disclosed technology generally relates to convertible backpack/bookbags and, more specifically, to a backpack/bookbag, which may be converted into a portable workstation/desk via a single leg support suitable for completing an assignment at any locations indoors or outdoors, complete with a sitting chair for a total workstation environment. All other patents using a telescopic leg have four legs, whereas my advances the convertible backpack/bookbag with a single telescopic (extendable and retractable) leg. The single extendable and retractable telescopic leg on the Backpack/bookbag's REAR FACE will be adjustable to reach different heights to suit each customer comfortably. The REAR FACE of the backpack/bookbag can be defined as the portion of the backpack/bookbag that rests on the consumers' back. The base of the telescopic leg will have a secure circular base to ensure sturdiness and stability on all surfaces and has four retractable wheels on the bottom (base) of the leg for easy transportation while used as a desk. The advanced portable workstation/desk backpack/bookbag will also have a retractable desktop surface extending out on the left and the right sidewalls to create a larger desktop surface to suit customers' needs and comfort. The advanced portable workstation/desk backpack/bookbag will have two blue tooth speakers on the single telescopic leg located on the backpack/bookbag's rear face so the customer can listen to music while completing their work. The advanced portable workstation/desk backpack/bookbag will also have a rechargeable battery to power the two PORTABLE USB charging ports so customers can charge their cell phones and other electrical dives as well as a cup holder for hold consumer's beverages, a housing unit for the telescopic leg, a voice-activated-digital assistant application like Siri and Alexa manufactured by Apple and Amazon respectively where users can ask questions and receive answers to their inquiries, a portable chair located in the backpack/bookbag's Rear Face so the backpack/bookbag's desk can be utilized at any location while sitting down, a phone holder for hands-free talking, a pencil holder and a tablet computer on the FRONT PORTION of the backpack/bookbag for internet usage, video conference call, to watch movies and other tablet computer usage. A first pair of extendable and retractable desktop sidewalls and a second pair of extendable and retractable desktop sidewalls being connected to the Backpack/Bookbag body on the base portion. The backpack/bookbag's arm/shoulder straps are detachable, whereas the straps won't interfere with desktop usage, a rear wall; when unzipped exposes the single telescopic leg, a single telescopic leg having a locking mechanism able to lock the telescopic leg at heights over 3 feet, and a telescopic (extendable and retractable) leg can be extended out to reach over three feet in height.
  • The Portable Desk Backpack/bookbag has five compartments and a desktop base portion. Compartment #1 is the smallest compartment made of the material used to house pens, pencils, small note pads, make-up, and a calculator. Compartment #2 is a medium-sized compartment made of waterproof material to house the charging station and the charging port. It can house small items such as cell phones and keys. Compartment #3 is a larger compartment of the backpack/bookbag that can house notebook pads and folders.
  • Compartment #4 is a larger and wider compartment than compartment #3, which can house several large books. Compartment #5 has a 360-degree zipper so it can completely detach itself from the base. Once detached from the base, Compartment #5 allows the customer to separate the backpack/bookbag from the desk/table for easier comfort when working on the work desk. But the customer doesn't have to completely detach Compartment #4 from the base to utilize the desktop.
  • The desktop base portion—The base portion is the compartment that rests on the customers back and will have the arm/shoulder straps and where the adjustable table leg is housed. This compartment will be made of material on the outside but standard hard “Desktop” material on the inside. This compartment will house the retractable tabletop for the expansion of the Portable Desk workstation.
