Abstract
A smoke mouthpiece with a first, preferably flexurally rigid tube section having a first free end and a second, preferably flexurally rigid tube section having a second free end, wherein the first tube section can be connected to a smoking device and the second tube section is provided for insertion into the mouth of a smoker, and first and second tube sections being substantially straight, wherein a third, flexurally flexible tube section is provided between the tube sections, as well as a smoking device having such a smoke mouthpiece.
Description
- The invention relates to a smoking mouthpiece and a smoking device comprising such a smoking mouthpiece. The smoking mouthpiece allows the adjustment of a preferred mouthpiece position when using smoking devices, such as hookahs, electric or e-cigarettes, e-shishas or other smoke-producing devices.
- The smoking of water pipes, so-called shishas enjoys great popularity. Thereby, smoke produced in a burner is inhaled by the smoker through a vessel filled with water via a hose, at the end of which a mouthpiece is attached. Conventional hookahs usually have a rigid, straight mouthpiece with a central hole through which the smoke can be inhaled. Since hookahs are not infrequently consumed together, it is known to insert disposable smoke mouthpieces into the straight mouthpieces of hookahs to ensure a hygienic smoking experience. These smoke mouthpieces are straight tubes whose outer diameter corresponds to the inner diameter of the hole in the actual mouthpiece of the hookah or the smoke hose. Occasionally, these disposable mouthpieces may also have a conical portion that facilitates insertion into the mouthpiece hole. After the smoking process is completed, these disposable smoking mouthpieces can be removed from the mouthpiece of the hookah. The next user of the hookah inserts his own disposable smoke mouthpiece.
- The disadvantage of the known smoke mouthpieces is that they extend the actual mouthpiece of the hookah in a linear direction. This may force the smoker to adopt an uncomfortable head position when using the smoking device. It is also necessary to have enough space to hold the mouthpiece below the mouth. Especially when consuming the hookah, for example in a lying position, this proves to be uncomfortable.
- It is therefore the task of the present invention to enable an individual adjustment of a mouthpiece of a water pipe.
- This task is solved with a smoke mouthpiece according to
claim 1, as well as a smoking device according to claim 18. Advantageous further embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. - In connection with the invention, the smoke mouthpiece according to the invention is predominantly described in connection with water pipes. However, the invention is by no means limited thereto. Likewise, the smoke mouthpiece can be used with so-called electric or e-cigarettes, e-shishas, or other, also conventional smoking devices, such as pipes or the like. Electric cigarette, also e-cigarette or electronic cigarette or e-shisha, are devices that vaporize a liquid (the so-called liquid) through an electrically heated coil. The resulting wet vapor is inhaled or puffed by the consumer. Unlike a cigarette, no combustion process takes place. The invention is not limited to this type of smoking device.
- The smoking mouthpiece according to the invention is formed as a tube section having a first and a second free end. The first tube section is thereby directly or indirectly connectable to a smoking device via a smoke hose and/or a smoke pipe, while the second tube section is provided for insertion into the mouth of a smoker. The first and second tube sections are formed substantially straight and preferably flexurally rigid or substantially flexurally rigid. The invention is characterized in that a third tube section, which is flexurally flexible or flexurally elastic, is provided between the first and second tube sections. The bending flexibility or bending elasticity is realized by suitable material deformation, for example in the form of a bellows and/or by adjusting the material parameters of a preferably one-piece smoke mouthpiece in the region of the third tube section. The third tube section is preferably elastically deformable and individually adjustable in shape and bending radius. The tube section retains the deformation once it has been set, although it can be readjusted. Thus, the invention allows the position of the second tube end to be adjusted to the individual needs of the smoker. This can be done before or after inserting the first pipe section directly into the smoking device, the smoking hose or the existing, usually straight mouthpiece or smoking pipe of a water pipe or the smoke outlet hole provided there. The second tube section is thereby bent towards the mouth of the smoker. The invention thus has the advantage that a mouthpiece position can be personalized in a simple manner.
- In a further embodiment of the invention considered advantageous, it is provided that the first tube section is configured to be longer when viewed relative to the second tube section. This configuration allows the length of the protruding portion of the smoke mouthpiece to be adjusted relative to the mouthpiece or the smoke hose of the smoking device. This allows the mouthpiece position to be further adjusted. Also, the extended tube section can serve as a handle. The reverse case is of course also conceivable. The smoking mouthpiece then has an extended second tube section.
- It is considered advantageous if the flexible tube section is designed as a bellows or is essentially bellows-like. All bellows configurations are conceivable here, for example as corrugated bellows or gangway bellows. The bellows-like configuration is molded in when the flexible tube section or the entire smoke mouthpiece is manufactured. Depending on the type of bellows and the materials used, the flexurally flexible section can be placed in a position and remain there. Alternatively, of course, it is also possible for the bend-flexible part to remain flexible throughout the use of the smoke mouthpiece, thus allowing permanent continuous readjustment. The bend in the smoke mouthpiece also improves the draw of the smoking device due to turbulence in the smoke mouthpiece, or this can be influenced and improves the smoking experience.
- The insertion of the smoke mouthpiece into the smoke hose of a smoking device is simplified by the fact that the first tube section is designed to be tapered towards its free end. In contrast, the second tube section, which serves as the smoke outlet opening and is inserted into the smoker's mouth, can optionally also be of tapered design. This results in a different forwarding of the exiting smoke and the smoking experience can thus be improved.
- The smoke mouthpiece according to the invention is provided for inserting the first tube section into one end of a smoke conduit, in particular a smoke pipe or smoke hose, or into the existing mouthpiece or handle of a smoking device, preferably a water pipe. Of course, in a further development, it is possible for the first and second pipe sections to be of the same design and thus no specifications are made with regard to the part of the smoke mouthpiece to be connected to the end of the smoke conduit.
- The connection of the smoke mouthpiece and the smoking device or end of the smoke hose is improved in that, as provided in a preferred embodiment, rings or nubs applied to an outer surface, a lamellar structure or a thread are provided, for example molded in, on the first and/or second tube section, preferably in the region of the first and/or second free end. These structures on the first tube section enable a force-fit connection, in particular insertion or screwing of the smoke mouthpiece into the smoking device or the end of the smoke conduit. This improves the connection between the smoke mouthpiece and the smoking device or smoke conduit. A better hold of the mouthpiece, for example between the smokers teeth or lips, can also be achieved at the second tube section, which is inserted into the smoker's mouth, by means of rings, knobs or lamellar structure. A marking of the mouthpieces can also be made via the surface structure.
- It is considered advantageous if the tube sections have the same or variable wall thicknesses. This increases the stability of the smoke mouthpiece. At the same time, the different wall thicknesses also allow the flexible section to be formed during production of the smoke mouth piece. Preferably, the bendable tube section has the smallest wall thickness, which makes it easier to change the position, i.e. to bend the third tube section. By selecting wall thicknesses that are variable over the length of the smoke mouthpiece, the draw behavior of the smoking device can be influenced and improved. The inhaled smoke is thus concentrated and the smoke flow is made more uniform.
- In the smoke mouthpiece according to the invention, in one embodiment, the tube sections have the same or different diameters, in addition or alternatively to the different wall thickness. In addition to being adaptable to the diameter of the smoke hose or smoke pipe or smoke outlet opening, it is thus possible to respond to different requirements on the part of the smoker. The draw behavior of the smoking device can also be influenced and improved by selecting diameters that are variable over the length of the smoke mouthpiece. The inhaled smoke is thus bundled and the smoke flow is made more uniform.
- It is considered favorable if the smoke mouthpiece is formed in one piece and can thus be manufactured in a standardized manufacturing process, for example an injection molding process. In a preferred embodiment, the smoke mouthpiece is preferably designed as an injection-molded part. This allows the smoke mouthpiece to be manufactured easily and inexpensively in large numbers.
- The smoke mouthpiece is preferably designed as a disposable or reusable article. If multiple use is intended, the smoke mouthpiece can be made of a material that is resistant to temperature and dishwashing detergents or is dishwasher-safe. It is considered advantageous if the smoke mouthpiece is made of a food-grade plastic material, metal, glass, or combinations thereof. For example, first and second tube sections can be made of metal and the connecting flexible tube section can be made of plastic. Of course, all other flexurally flexible or elastic materials are conceivable, such as textile materials, leather, plastic, metal tubes or the like. In an advantageous further development of the invention, the first and second tube sections are each formed from metal, glass or plastic and are connected via the flexurally flexible tube section formed from plastic or metal.
- Preferably, the flexible tube section is designed as a molded tube section, gangway bellows or corrugated or bellows section or bending tube section. In the design of the tube section, the flexible tube section can also be made of a metal tube or a metal mesh tube. This is particularly advantageous for smoke mouthpieces intended for multiple use.
- It is considered advantageous if the bending radius of the flexible tube section is freely adjustable. This allows particularly simple and individual adjustment of the smoke mouthpiece according to the smoker's preference.
- In a further development considered favorable, the smoke mouthpiece is characterized in that an additional, removable tube section is provided. This additional tube section preferably has a chamber through which smoke flows, in particular a chamber that can be cooled. The additional, fourth tube section is assigned in particular to the first or second tube section and is preferably designed as a chamber. The fourth tube section is arranged, for example, between the first or second tube section and the third, flexible tube section. The fourth pipe section can also be designed to be removable so that, for example, cooling of the chamber can take place after removal. Before the hookah is actually consumed, the cooled chamber section is then inserted into the mouthpiece and cools the inhaled smoke. This further enhances the smoking experience. Of course, the entire smoke mouthpiece, including the chamber, may also be cooled. In a further development of the invention, the chamber can also be designed as a ring which can be placed on the smoke mouthpiece or as a chamber which encloses the smoke mouthpiece in sections. In this case, the ring or the chamber contains a coolant. The chamber or ring is cooled before use and is not applied to the smoke mouthpiece until the smoking device is put into operation. The cooling improves the smoking experience, as the aromas in the smoke are better accentuated. The chamber or ring can have a wide variety of geometric shapes, for example as a rectangular cuboid or elongated sleeve with a round or square outer geometry. The chamber can completely or partially enclose the smoke mouthpiece. In addition to being pushed onto the mouthpiece, the ring or chamber can also be fitted or clipped on.
- The smoking mouthpiece according to the invention can be connected directly or indirectly to a smoking device. This is in particular a water pipe or a so-called e-cigarette or e-shisha. The smoking mouthpiece designed as a disposable or reusable article thus allows several smokers to use the smoking device simultaneously by changing the smoking mouthpiece.
- The smoking device according to the invention preferably comprises a smoke conduit, such as a smoke pipe or a smoke hose. The smoke mouthpiece according to the invention is conveniently inserted into the end of the smoke conduit or smoke pipe, in particular inserted or screwed in. Preferably, the smoke mouthpiece is designed as a disposable or reusable article and allows the simultaneous use of the smoking device or the smoke hoses or smoke pipes by different persons.
- The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings. These show preferred embodiments of the smoking mouthpiece or smoking device according to the invention. Thus shows:
-
FIG. 1a the smoke mouthpiece according to the invention in side view, -
FIG. 1b the smoke mouthpiece according to the invention in top view, -
FIG. 2a an embodiment of the smoking device according to the invention, -
FIG. 2b a representation of a detail of the smoking device ofFIG. 2 a, -
FIG. 3 a further representation of the smoking device ofFIG. 2 a, -
FIG. 4 a further embodiment of the smoking device according to the invention, and -
FIG. 5 a further embodiment of the smoking mouth piece according to the invention. -
FIG. 1a shows a side view of thesmoke mouthpiece 1 according to the invention. Thesmoke mouthpiece 1 has a first andsecond tube section 3 a 3 b. A third, flexible orelastic tube section 3 c is provided between thetube sections 3 a, 3 b. Via the bend-flexible tube section 3 c, the second tube section 3 b can be bent relative to thefirst tube section 3 a. This allows an individual position of the second tube section 3 b to be set. In the embodiment example, thethird pipe section 3 c is formed in the manner of a bellows 5. Theentire smoke mouthpiece 1 shown here is manufactured in one piece as an injection-molded part. Of course, it is also possible for the threetube sections 3 a, b, c to be provided as individual parts and connected to one another, for example by plugging or gluing, to form thesmoke mouthpiece 1. It is also conceivable that, in the one-piece smoke mouthpiece 1, the material properties in the region of thethird tube section 3 c are set in such a way that this remains flexurally flexible or elastic, while the other twotube sections 3 a, 3 b are flexurally rigid. This configuration can of course also be achieved by varying the wall thickness w.FIG. 1a shows that thepipe sections 3 a, 3 b can have different wall thicknesses w. Through this, the flow rate and flow velocity of the smoke through thesmoke mouthpiece 1 can be influenced. Also, the thickening of the wall thickness w influences the stability of thesmoke mouthpiece 1. - First and
second pipe sections 3 a, 3 b each have a 2 a, 2 b. Thefree end free end 2 a of thefirst pipe section 3 a is inserted into the end 11 of asmoke conduit 10 of asmoking device 4, for example the end of asmoke pipe 6 or asmoke hose 7, and is held there in a form-fitting manner. In order to further improve the connection between thesmoke conduit 10 and thesmoke mouthpiece 1, thesmoke mouthpiece 1 can have additional structures in the region of thefree end 2 a of thefirst pipe section 3 a, forexample knobs 9 or longitudinal strips 13 (cf.FIG. 5 ), which project with respect to theouter surface 8 of thesmoke mouthpiece 1. This improves the form fit betweensmoke mouthpiece 1 andsmoke conduit 10 and prevents smoke from escaping there. - The diameter d is also variable when viewed over the length of the
smoke mouthpiece 1. By cleverly combining wall thickness w and diameter d, the flow properties of the smoke can be influenced and improved by thesmoke mouthpiece 1. For example, concentration of the smoke prior to inhalation can occur here, which significantly improves the smoking experience. -
FIG. 1b shows thesmoke mouthpiece 1 fromFIG. 1a in a further illustration. It can be seen here that thefree end 2 b of the second section 3 b is formed in such a way that this corresponds substantially to the smoke passage opening of asmoke conduit 10. The user of thesmoking device 4 thus experiences no difference between inhaling directly from thesmoke conduit 10 and inhaling with thesmoke mouthpiece 1 inserted. However, the position of thefree end 2 b of the second tube section 3 b can be adapted to the needs of the smoker by means of thethird tube section 3 c formed as abellows 5 in the embodiment exampleFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 2a shows a preferred embodiment of asmoking device 4, in the embodiment example of a water pipe. The description of the individual components of the water pipe will be omitted here, since these are generally known. Shown in the embodiment example is asmoke conduit 10 formed as asmoke hose 7. On the end 11 of thesmoke hose 7, in the embodiment example, a rigid, straight smoke pipe 6 is attached, which extends the smoke hose. Thissmoke pipe 6 serves as a handle and, as a rule, also as a mouthpiece. Shown in the embodiment example is thesmoke mouthpiece 1 according to the invention inserted into thesmoke pipe 6. Thefirst tube section 3 a is inserted into the end 11 of thesmoke hose 7, while the second tube section 3 b is bent relative to the first. This allows the position of the smoke outlet from thesmoke pipe 6 to be adjusted to the smoker. -
FIG. 2b shows a section of thesmoke pipe 6 with insertedsmoke mouthpiece 1. Thesmoke mouthpiece 1 can be designed as a reusable or disposable part. The connection betweensmoke mouthpiece 1 andsmoke pipe 6 is made by positive locking. The free end of the first tube section has a conical area, which simplifies and improves the insertion and fixing of thesmoke mouthpiece 1 in thesmoke pipe 6. Of course, in all smoking devices, it is also possible to permanently fix thesmoke mouthpiece 1, i.e. the end of thesmoke conduit 10 is configured according to thesmoke mouthpiece 1 according to the invention and can be adjusted accordingly. -
FIG. 3 shows the components of thesmoke conduit 10 in a separated state. Clearly visible is thesmoke hose 7, into the end 11 of which thesmoke pipe 6, a rigid tube section, can be inserted or fitted or molded in. Thesmoke mouthpiece 1 according to the invention can then be inserted into the front end of thesmoke pipe 6 when thesmoking device 4 is in use, and the position of the smoke outlet can be adjusted via the flexurally flexible section. Generally, the smoke pipe and smoke hose are fixedly or detachably connected to each other. -
FIG. 4 shows a further embodiment of thesmoking device 4. This also has asmoke conduit 10, which is designed as asmoke hose 7. In contrast to the embodiment according toFIG. 3 , however, thesmoke pipe 6 is missing here. Thesmoke mouthpiece 1 according to the invention is therefore inserted directly into the end 11 of thesmoke hose 7. Thesmoke mouthpiece 1 thus not only has the function of extending the line but also serves as a handle at the same time. Nevertheless, the position of the smoke outlet is adjusted via the bendingflexible tube section 3 c and adapted to the smoker. Provided that thesmoke mouthpiece 1 is suitably designed, it can additionally serve as a cooling section for the smoke. For this purpose, thesmoke mouthpiece 1, which is of double-walled design, for example, can be filled with a cooling liquid which additionally extracts heat from the smoke supplied via thesmoke conduit 10. -
FIG. 5a shows a further embodiment of thesmoke mouthpiece 1, which has afourth tube section 3 d, which in the embodiment example is designed as aremovable chamber 12. Thischamber 12 contains a coolant and can be cooled after removal from thesmoke mouthpiece 1. Prior to actual consumption, for example of the water pipe, the cooledchamber 12 is then inserted into or pushed or slipped onto thesmoke mouthpiece 1 and cools the smoke flowing through to be inhaled. This further enhances the smoking experience. Of course, thechamber 12 can also be integrated into thesmoke mouthpiece 1, for example molded in or inserted between the 3 a, 3 b, 3 c, or thetube sections entire smoke mouthpiece 1, including thechamber 12, can also be cooled. In a further development of the invention, thechamber 12 can also be formed as a ring or sleeve that can be plugged onto thesmoke mouthpiece 1 or as achamber 12 that completely or partially encloses the first and/orsecond tube sections 3 a, 3 b longitudinally. In this case, the ring orchamber 12 contains a coolant. Thechamber 12 or the ring or theentire smoking mouthpiece 1 is cooled prior to use and is not attached to thesmoking device 4 until thesmoking device 4 is put into operation. Cooling enhances the smoking experience by allowing flavors in the smoke to be more prominent. In addition to the more or less round design shown here, cubic or cuboid as well as individual shapes can of course also be realized. - In the embodiment example of
FIG. 5 , the connection betweensmoke mouthpiece 1 andsmoking device 4 or end ofsmoke hose 7 is improved by the fact that raisedlongitudinal strips 13 are provided on thefirst tube section 3 a, preferably in the area of the firstfree end 2 a on an outer surface. These structures on thefirst tube section 3 a enable a force-locking connection, in particular insertion of thesmoke mouthpiece 1 into thesmoking device 4 or the end of thesmoke conduit 10. The connection between thesmoke mouthpiece 1 and thesmoking device 4 orsmoke conduit 10 is thus improved. In the embodiment example, the second tube section 3 b, which is inserted into the smoker's mouth, also hasknobs 9. This enables a better hold of the mouthpiece, for example between the teeth or lips of the smoker. Also, a marking of the mouthpieces can be made via the surface structure. - The last described modification of first and
second tube sections 3 a, 3 b is not limited to the last described embodiment of thesmoking mouthpiece 1 but can be used in all previously described embodiments. Also, the modification may be limited to first orsecond tube section 3 a, 3 b. Furthermore, the surface structure can optionally be formed as a corrugated, lamellar or strip structure in addition to those shown here. -
