Abstract

An air tube assembly for ventilating a building without opening windows or doors includes a first tube that is extended through an exterior wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall. A second tube is extended through the exterior wall of the building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall. The second tube insertably receives the first tube such that each of the first tube and the second tube ventilates the building.

  • The disclosure and prior art relates to tube devices and more particularly pertains to a new tube device for ventilating a building without opening windows or doors.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first tube that is extended through an exterior wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall. A second tube is extended through the exterior wall of the building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall. The second tube insertably receives the first tube such that each of the first tube and the second tube ventilates the building.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a partially exploded perspective view of an air tube assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a partially exploded side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new tube device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the air tube assembly 10 generally comprises a first tube 12 that may be extended through an exterior wall 14 in a building 16 thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall 14. The building 16 may be a residential structure such as a house or the like. The first tube 12 has a first end 18, a second end 20 and an outer surface 22 extending therebetween. The first end 18 is positioned in an air space 24 between an inside surface 26 and an outside surface 28 of the exterior wall 14.
  • A first flange 30 is coupled to the outer surface 22 of the first tube 12 and the first flange 30 is aligned with the second end 20 of the first tube 12. The first flange 30 abuts the exterior wall 14 when the first tube 12 is extended through the exterior wall 14. Caulk or the like may be applied to between the first flange 30 and the exterior wall 14 to form a fluid impermeable seal. A first cap 32 has a first wall 34 and perimeter wall 36 extending away therefrom and the perimeter wall 36 is continuous such that the first cap 32 has a disk shape. The first cap 32 is removably positioned on the second end 20 of the first tube 12 to close the second end 20. Thus, the first cap 32 inhibits air from passing through the first tube 12.
  • A second tube 38 is provided and the second tube 38 is extended through the exterior wall 14 of the building 16 thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall 14. The second tube 38 has a first end 40, a second end 42, an outer surface 44 and an inner surface 46. The first end 40 of the second tube 38 is positioned in the air space 24 when the second tube 38 is extended through the exterior wall 14. Moreover, the first end 40 of the second tube 38 insertably receives the first end 16 of the first tube 12 and the inner surface 46 of the second tube 38 engages the outer surface 22 of the first tube 12. Each of the first 12 and second 38 tubes may be comprised of PVC or the like and each of the first 12 and second 38 tubes may be joined together with PVC glue or the like.
  • A second flange 48 is coupled to the outer surface 44 of the second tube 38 and the second flange 48 is aligned with the second end 42 of the second tube 38. The second flange 48 abuts the outside surface 28 of the exterior wall 14 when the second tube 38 is extended through the exterior wall 14. Caulk or the like may be applied between the second flange 48 and the exterior wall 14 to form a fluid impermeable seal. As shown in FIG. 4, an optional electric fan 52 may be positioned within the first tube 12 to urge air through the first 12 and second 38 tubes.
  • A second cap 54 is provided and the second cap 54 has a first wall 56 and perimeter wall 58 extending away therefrom. The perimeter wall 58 of the second cap 54 is continuous such that the second cap 54 has a disk shape. The second cap 54 is removably positioned on the second end 42 of the second tube 38 to inhibit air from passing through the second tube 38. A screen 60 is positioned in the second tube 38 to inhibit objects and animals from entering the second tube 38. The screen 60 engages the inner surface 46 of the second tube 38 and the screen 60 is positioned closer to the second end 42 of the second tube 38 than the first end 40 f the second tube 38.
  • In an alternative embodiment 62 as shown in FIG. 5, a damper 64 is pivotally coupled to the first tube 12. The damper 64 includes a shaft 66 that extends through the first tube 12 and a disk 68 that is coupled to the shaft 66. The disk 68 is positioned within the first tube 12 and the disk 68 is positionable between a closed position and an open position. The disk 68 inhibits air from passing through the first tube 12 when the disk 68 is in the closed position and allows air the pass through the first tube 12 when the disk 68 is in the open position. A motor 70 is coupled to the outer surface 22 of the first tube 12 and the motor 70 rotates the shaft 66. A receiver 72 is electrically coupled to the motor 70 and the receiver 72 is in wireless communication with an extrinsic communication network, such as a wifi internet router or the like. Thus, the motor 70 may be remotely controlled by an electronic device, such as a smart phone or the like, that has wireless communication capabilities. The motor 70 may be an electric motor and the receiver 72 may be a radio frequency receiver.
  • In use, a hole is cut through the inside surface 26 of the exterior wall 14 and the first tube 12 is extended through the hole. A hole is cut through the outside surface 28 of the exterior wall 14 and the hole in the outside surface 28 is aligned with the hole in the inside surface 26. The second tube 38 is extended through the hole in the outside surface 28 and the first end 40 of the second tube 38 insertably receives the second end 18 of the first tube 12. Thus, the building 16 may be ventilated without opening windows and doors thereby enhancing security of the building 16. Moreover, a plurality of the first 12 and second 38 tubes may be distributed around the building 16 to facilitate cross ventilation in the building 16.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims (9)

I claim:
1. An air tube assembly is configured to be extended through a wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the wall for ventilation, the assembly comprising:
a first tube is configured to be extended through an exterior wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall; and
a second tube is configured to be extended through the exterior wall of the building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall, the second tube insertably receiving the first tube wherein each of the first tube and the second tube is configured to ventilate the building.
2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein the first tube has a first end, a second end and an outer surface extending therebetween, the first end is configured to be positioned in an air space between an inside surface of the exterior wall and an outside surface of the exterior wall of the building.
3. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a first flange is coupled to the outer surface of the first tube, the first flange is aligned with the second end of the first tube, the first flange is configured to abut the inside surface of the exterior wall wherein the first tube is extended through the exterior wall.
4. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a first cap having a first wall and perimeter wall extending away therefrom, the perimeter wall is continuous such that the first cap has a disk shape, the first cap is removably positioned on the second end of the first tube to close the second end wherein the first cap is configured to inhibit air from passing through the first tube.
5. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein the second tube has a first end, a second end, an outer surface and an inner surface, the first end of the second tube is configured to be positioned in the air space, the first end of the second tube insertably receiving the first end of the first tube having the inner surface of the second tube engaging the outer surface of the first tube.
6. The assembly according to claim 5, further comprising:
a first flange; and
a second flange is coupled to the outer surface of the second tube, the second flange is aligned with the second end of the second tube, the second flange is configured to abut the outside surface of the exterior wall wherein the second tube is extended through the exterior wall.
7. The assembly according to claim 5, further comprising:
a first cap; and
a second cap having a first wall and perimeter wall extending away therefrom, the perimeter wall of the second cap is continuous such that the second cap has a disk shape, the second cap is removably positioned on the second end of the second tube to close the second end of the second tube wherein the second cap is configured to inhibit air from passing through the second tube.
8. The assembly according to claim 5, further comprising a screen is positioned in the second tube wherein the screen is configured to inhibit objects and animals from entering the second tube, the screen engaging the inner surface of the second tube, the screen is positioned closer to the second end of the second tube than the first end of the second tube.
9. An air tube assembly is configured to be extended through a wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the wall for ventilation, the assembly comprising:
a first tube is configured to be extended through an exterior wall in a building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall, the first tube having a first end, a second end and an outer surface extending therebetween, the first end is configured to be positioned in an air space between an inside surface and an outside surface of the exterior wall;
a first flange is coupled to the outer surface of the first tube, the first flange is aligned with the second end of the first tube, the first flange is configured to abut the inside surface of the exterior wall wherein the first tube is extended through the exterior wall;
a first cap having a first wall and perimeter wall extending away therefrom, the perimeter wall is continuous such that the first cap has a disk shape, the first cap is removably positioned on the second end of the first tube to close the second end wherein the first cap is configured to inhibit air from passing through the first tube;
a second tube is configured to be extended through an exterior wall of the building thereby facilitating air to pass through the exterior wall, the second tube having a first end, a second end, an outer surface and an inner surface, the first end of the second tube is configured to be positioned in the air space, the first end of the second tube insertably receiving the first end of the first tube having the inner surface of the second tube engaging the outer surface of the first tube;
a second flange is coupled to the outer surface of the second tube, the second flange is aligned with the second end of the second tube, the second flange is configured to abut the outside surface of the exterior wall when the second tube is extended through the exterior wall;
a second cap having a first wall and perimeter wall extending away therefrom, the perimeter wall of the second cap is continuous such that the second cap has a disk shape, the second cap is removably positioned on the second end of the second tube to close the second end of the second tube wherein the second cap is configured to inhibit air from passing through the second tube; and
a screen is positioned in the second tube wherein the screen is configured to inhibit objects and animals from entering the second tube, the screen engaging the inner surface of the second tube, the screen is positioned closer to the second end of the second tube than the first end of the second tube.
