- The disclosure and prior art relates to pillowcase devices and more particularly pertains to a new pillowcase device having integrated pouches for storing and concealing objects.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pillowcase for containing a pillow. The pillowcase has a cut therein to access an interior of the pillowcase. A flap is coupled to the pillowcase, the flap is aligned with and is coextensive with the cut, and the flap hangs downwardly over the cut to conceal the cut. A zipper is coupled to the pillowcase and the zipper is aligned with the cut such that the zipper opens and closes the cut when the zipper is manipulated. The flap lies over the zipper to conceal the zipper. A plurality of pouches is each positioned within the pillowcase. each of the pouches insertably receiving an object for storage wherein the pillow case is configured to conceal the object.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a back phantom view of a concealing pillowcase assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure showing a cut being opened. -
FIG. 4 is a right side phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken along line 5-5 ofFIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 6 is an alternative view of a cross section taken along line 5-5 ofFIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new pillowcase device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 6 , theconcealing pillowcase assembly 10 generally comprises apillowcase 12 for containing a pillow. Thepillowcase 12 has anouter wall 14, theouter wall 14 has acut 16 therein to access an interior of thepillowcase 12, and theouter wall 14 has aninner surface 18 and anouter surface 20. Aflap 22 is coupled to theouter surface 20 of theouter wall 14 of thepillowcase 12 and theflap 22 is aligned with and is coextensive with thecut 16 in theouter wall 14 of thepillowcase 12. Moreover, theflap 22 hangs downwardly over thecut 16 to conceal thecut 16. - A
zipper 24 is coupled to theouter surface 20 of theouter wall 14 of thepillowcase 12. Thezipper 24 is aligned with thecut 16 such that thezipper 24 opens and closes thecut 16 when thezipper 24 is manipulated. Theflap 22 lies over thezipper 24 to conceal thezipper 24. Alternatively, theouter surface 20 of theouter wall 14 of thepillowcase 12 has a recess therein and the recess is aligned with thecut 16. Thezipper 24 is positioned in the recess thereby facilitating the recess to close over thezipper 24 to conceal thezipper 24. - A
panel 26 is coupled to thepillowcase 12 and thepanel 26 is positioned within thepillowcase 12 such that thepillowcase 12 conceals thepanel 26. Thepanel 26 has afirst surface 28 and asecond surface 30, and thefirst surface 28 is coupled to theinner surface 18 of theouter wall 14 of thepillowcase 12. Moreover, thepanel 26 is aligned with and is positioned below thecut 16. Thepanel 26 may be comprised of a deformable material similar to that of thepillowcase 12. - A plurality of
pouches 32 is each coupled to thepanel 26 such that each of thepouches 32 is positioned within thepillowcase 12. In this way thepillowcase 12 conceals the object, especially when the pillow is positioned in thepillowcase 12. Each of thepouches 32 has aperipheral edge 34 and theperipheral edge 34 of each of thepouches 32 is coupled to thesecond surface 30 of thepanel 26. Theperipheral edge 34 of each of thepouches 32 has atop side 36 and thetop side 36 of theperipheral edge 34 of each of thepouches 32 is open. - A plurality of
closures 38 is each coupled to a respective one of thepouches 32. Each of theclosures 38 is aligned with thetop side 36 of therespective pouch 32 for opening and closing thetop side 36 of therespective pouch 32. Theclosures 38 may be zippers or any other type of releasable closure. - In use, the objects are positioned in
selected pouches 32 for concealed storage. The objects can be positioned in thepouches 32 while the pillow is in thepillowcase 12 or while the pillow is not in thepillowcase 12. Theclosure 38 on each of thepouches 32 is manipulated to close thepouches 32 and thezipper 24 is manipulated to close thecut 16 in thepillowcase 12. Thezipper 24 is concealed beneath theflap 22 or concealed within the recess. Thepillowcase 12 is laid on a bed, article of furniture, or otherwise positioned for display having thepillowcase 12 lying on thezipper 24. In this way the objects are concealed in thepillowcase 12. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
