  • The disclosure and prior art relates to pillowcase devices and more particularly pertains to a new pillowcase device having integrated pouches for storing and concealing objects.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pillowcase for containing a pillow. The pillowcase has a cut therein to access an interior of the pillowcase. A flap is coupled to the pillowcase, the flap is aligned with and is coextensive with the cut, and the flap hangs downwardly over the cut to conceal the cut. A zipper is coupled to the pillowcase and the zipper is aligned with the cut such that the zipper opens and closes the cut when the zipper is manipulated. The flap lies over the zipper to conceal the zipper. A plurality of pouches is each positioned within the pillowcase. each of the pouches insertably receiving an object for storage wherein the pillow case is configured to conceal the object.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a back phantom view of a concealing pillowcase assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure showing a cut being opened.
  • FIG. 4 is a right side phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 6 is an alternative view of a cross section taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new pillowcase device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the concealing pillowcase assembly 10 generally comprises a pillowcase 12 for containing a pillow. The pillowcase 12 has an outer wall 14, the outer wall 14 has a cut 16 therein to access an interior of the pillowcase 12, and the outer wall 14 has an inner surface 18 and an outer surface 20. A flap 22 is coupled to the outer surface 20 of the outer wall 14 of the pillowcase 12 and the flap 22 is aligned with and is coextensive with the cut 16 in the outer wall 14 of the pillowcase 12. Moreover, the flap 22 hangs downwardly over the cut 16 to conceal the cut 16.
  • A zipper 24 is coupled to the outer surface 20 of the outer wall 14 of the pillowcase 12. The zipper 24 is aligned with the cut 16 such that the zipper 24 opens and closes the cut 16 when the zipper 24 is manipulated. The flap 22 lies over the zipper 24 to conceal the zipper 24. Alternatively, the outer surface 20 of the outer wall 14 of the pillowcase 12 has a recess therein and the recess is aligned with the cut 16. The zipper 24 is positioned in the recess thereby facilitating the recess to close over the zipper 24 to conceal the zipper 24.
  • A panel 26 is coupled to the pillowcase 12 and the panel 26 is positioned within the pillowcase 12 such that the pillowcase 12 conceals the panel 26. The panel 26 has a first surface 28 and a second surface 30, and the first surface 28 is coupled to the inner surface 18 of the outer wall 14 of the pillowcase 12. Moreover, the panel 26 is aligned with and is positioned below the cut 16. The panel 26 may be comprised of a deformable material similar to that of the pillowcase 12.
  • A plurality of pouches 32 is each coupled to the panel 26 such that each of the pouches 32 is positioned within the pillowcase 12. In this way the pillowcase 12 conceals the object, especially when the pillow is positioned in the pillowcase 12. Each of the pouches 32 has a peripheral edge 34 and the peripheral edge 34 of each of the pouches 32 is coupled to the second surface 30 of the panel 26. The peripheral edge 34 of each of the pouches 32 has a top side 36 and the top side 36 of the peripheral edge 34 of each of the pouches 32 is open.
  • A plurality of closures 38 is each coupled to a respective one of the pouches 32. Each of the closures 38 is aligned with the top side 36 of the respective pouch 32 for opening and closing the top side 36 of the respective pouch 32. The closures 38 may be zippers or any other type of releasable closure.
  • In use, the objects are positioned in selected pouches 32 for concealed storage. The objects can be positioned in the pouches 32 while the pillow is in the pillowcase 12 or while the pillow is not in the pillowcase 12. The closure 38 on each of the pouches 32 is manipulated to close the pouches 32 and the zipper 24 is manipulated to close the cut 16 in the pillowcase 12. The zipper 24 is concealed beneath the flap 22 or concealed within the recess. The pillowcase 12 is laid on a bed, article of furniture, or otherwise positioned for display having the pillowcase 12 lying on the zipper 24. In this way the objects are concealed in the pillowcase 12.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
