- Watercrafts are used various recreational activities such as sailing, fishing and general leisure. Maintenance of watercraft is imperative and users must insure that deck area remains clean free of debris and sand. Boaters normally deck their boat so that passengers embark and disembark from the boat. The foot traffic can typically cause the accumulation of sand, dirt and other debris on the deck. Many times individuals may carry equipment or may have fish that have been caught while boating. As a result, the deck may become dirty due to the heavy foot traffic. It's imperative to keep the deck surface clear and clean to avoid slip or falls and to avoid any type of accumulated debris. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a system developed that provide an automated system to clear the deck surface of a watercraft.

Abstract
A system for cleaning a deck that includes: a water supply; a bilge pump connected to the water supply; piping extending from the bilge pump under the deck; and a plurality of water streams emitting from the piping, where the plurality of water streams release over the top surface of the deck. The piping includes a plurality of holes and each hole enables emission of a water stream.
Description
- The present invention relates to a system to maintain a clean deck of a watercraft.
- Watercrafts are used various recreational activities such as sailing, fishing and general leisure. Maintenance of watercraft is imperative and users must insure that deck area remains clean free of debris and sand. Boaters normally deck their boat so that passengers embark and disembark from the boat. The foot traffic can typically cause the accumulation of sand, dirt and other debris on the deck. Many times individuals may carry equipment or may have fish that have been caught while boating. As a result, the deck may become dirty due to the heavy foot traffic. It's imperative to keep the deck surface clear and clean to avoid slip or falls and to avoid any type of accumulated debris. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a system developed that provide an automated system to clear the deck surface of a watercraft.
- The present invention relates a system for cleaning a watercraft deck that includes: a water supply; a bilge pump connected to the water supply; piping attached to one side of the watercraft; and a plurality of water streams emitting from the piping, where the plurality of water streams release over the top surface of the deck. The piping includes a plurality of holes and each hole enables emission of a water stream to wash the deck surface and provides passengers with a means wash their feet and shoes prior to entering the watercraft.

FIG. 1 depicts a perspective view of a deck cleaning system according to the present invention. - The deck cleaning system according to the present invention provides piping adjacent to a deck that releases streams of water. These streams of water transfer over to the top surface of the deck and cleans the surface to keep it clear for foot traffic. Water is pumped to the piping by a bilge pump and water is supplied to the pump through a regular water supply such as a water hose. Further passengers may use the water streams to clean their feet and shoes prior to embarking onto the watercraft.

FIG. 1 depicts adeck cleaning system 100 according to the present invention. Thecleaning system 100 includes abilge pump 15. Thisbilge pump 15 receives water through awater hose 10 connected to thebilge pump 15. The underlying body of water is used as the water source for thedeck cleaning system 100. The output of thebilge pump 15 is transferred to apipe 20 as shown. Thispipe 20 is connected to the undersurface of adeck 35 and releases water onto the top surface of thedeck 35. Thepipe 20 includes a plurality ofholes 22 that emit streams ofwater 30 over thedeck 35. Thedeck 35 is therefore cleaned and maintained by this periodic water stream. The streams ofwater 30 are released at a sufficient pressure to allow for water flow on the top surface of thedeck 35. This cleaning system may be activated by the user as needed to clean the surface of thedeck 35. - The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
Claims (2)
1. A system for cleaning a deck comprising:
a water supply
a bilge pump connected to the water supply;
piping extending from the bilge pump under the deck; and
a plurality of water streams emitting from the piping, where the plurality of water streams release over the top surface of the deck.
2. The system according to claim 1 , where the piping includes a plurality of holes and each hole enables emission of a water stream.
