  • The disclosure and prior art relates to seat devices and more particularly pertains to a new seat device for enhancing comfort of a toilet seat.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a toilet seat that is hingedly coupled to a toilet. A cover is removably positioned to cover the toilet seat such that the cover is sat on. Moreover, the cover is comprised of a thermally insulating material to inhibit thermal communication between a user and the toilet seat. In this way the cover enhances comfort for the user with respect to sitting on a cold toilet seat.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective in-use view of a toilet seat assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a bottom view of a cover of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of a cover of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new seat device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the toilet seat assembly 10 generally comprises a toilet seat 12 that is hingedly coupled to a toilet 14. The toilet 14 may be a plumbing fixture of any conventional design that conforms to residential, commercial and industrial building codes. The toilet seat 12 has an upper surface 16, a lower surface 18 and a perimeter surface 20 extending therebetween. The perimeter surface 20 has an interior facing side 22 and an exterior facing side 24. Moreover, each of the interior facing side 22 and the exterior facing side 24 is continuous such that the toilet seat 12 forms a closed loop.
  • A cover 26 is provided and the cover 26 is removably positioned to cover the toilet seat 12 thereby facilitating the cover 26 to be sat on. The cover 26 is comprised of a thermally insulating material, such as cotton or the like, to inhibit thermal communication between a user and the toilet seat 12. In this way the cover 26 enhances comfort for the user with respect to sitting on a cold toilet seat 12. The cover 26 has a top surface 28, a bottom surface 30 and a peripheral edge 32 extending therebetween. the peripheral edge 32 has an inwardly facing side 34 and an outwardly facing side 36. Each of the inwardly 34 and outwardly 36 facing sides is continuous such that the cover 26 forms a closed loop and the inwardly facing side 34 is concentric with the outwardly facing side 36.
  • The bottom surface 30 abuts the upper surface 16 of the toilet seat 12 and is coextensive with the upper surface 16 when the cover 26 is positioned on the toilet seat 12. The cover 26 extends downwardly along each of the interior facing side 22 and the exterior facing side 24 of the toilet seat 12. Additionally, the cover 26 wraps under the toilet seat 12 such that each of the inwardly 34 and the outwardly 36 facing sides are positioned on the bottom surface 30 of the toilet seat 12.
  • A first elastic member 38 is coupled to the bottom surface 30 of the cover 26 and the first elastic member 38 is aligned with and is coextensive with the inwardly facing side 34. The first elastic member 38 biases the inwardly facing side 34 to frictionally engage the bottom surface 30 of the toilet seat 12 and releasably retain the cover 26 on the toilet seat 12. A second elastic member 40 is coupled to the bottom surface 30 of the cover 26. The second elastic member 40 is aligned with and is coextensive with the outwardly facing side 36. Additionally, the second elastic member 40 biases the outwardly facing side 36 to frictionally engage the bottom surface 30 of the toilet seat 12 and releasably retain the cover 26 on the toilet seat 12.
  • In use, the cover 26 is positioned on the top surface 28 of the toilet seat 12 such that the cover 26 wraps around onto the bottom surface 30 of the toilet seat 12. Each of the first 38 and second 40 elastic members retains the cover 26 on the toilet seat 12. The cover 26 insulates the user from the toilet seat 12 when the user sits on the toilet seat 12. Additionally, the cover 26 inhibits the transmission of bacteria between the user and the toilet seat 12. The cover 26 is additionally taken along during hotel stays to place on a toilet seat 12 in the hotel.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
