- The disclosure and prior art relates to seat devices and more particularly pertains to a new seat device for enhancing comfort of a toilet seat.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a toilet seat that is hingedly coupled to a toilet. A cover is removably positioned to cover the toilet seat such that the cover is sat on. Moreover, the cover is comprised of a thermally insulating material to inhibit thermal communication between a user and the toilet seat. In this way the cover enhances comfort for the user with respect to sitting on a cold toilet seat.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective in-use view of a toilet seat assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of a cover of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of a cover of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken along line 5-5 ofFIG. 4 of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new seat device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , thetoilet seat assembly 10 generally comprises atoilet seat 12 that is hingedly coupled to a toilet 14. The toilet 14 may be a plumbing fixture of any conventional design that conforms to residential, commercial and industrial building codes. Thetoilet seat 12 has anupper surface 16, alower surface 18 and aperimeter surface 20 extending therebetween. Theperimeter surface 20 has an interior facingside 22 and anexterior facing side 24. Moreover, each of theinterior facing side 22 and theexterior facing side 24 is continuous such that thetoilet seat 12 forms a closed loop. - A
cover 26 is provided and thecover 26 is removably positioned to cover thetoilet seat 12 thereby facilitating thecover 26 to be sat on. Thecover 26 is comprised of a thermally insulating material, such as cotton or the like, to inhibit thermal communication between a user and thetoilet seat 12. In this way thecover 26 enhances comfort for the user with respect to sitting on acold toilet seat 12. Thecover 26 has atop surface 28, abottom surface 30 and aperipheral edge 32 extending therebetween. theperipheral edge 32 has an inwardly facingside 34 and an outwardly facingside 36. Each of the inwardly 34 and outwardly 36 facing sides is continuous such that thecover 26 forms a closed loop and the inwardly facingside 34 is concentric with the outwardly facingside 36. - The
bottom surface 30 abuts theupper surface 16 of thetoilet seat 12 and is coextensive with theupper surface 16 when thecover 26 is positioned on thetoilet seat 12. Thecover 26 extends downwardly along each of theinterior facing side 22 and theexterior facing side 24 of thetoilet seat 12. Additionally, thecover 26 wraps under thetoilet seat 12 such that each of the inwardly 34 and the outwardly 36 facing sides are positioned on thebottom surface 30 of thetoilet seat 12. - A first
elastic member 38 is coupled to thebottom surface 30 of thecover 26 and the firstelastic member 38 is aligned with and is coextensive with the inwardly facingside 34. The firstelastic member 38 biases the inwardly facingside 34 to frictionally engage thebottom surface 30 of thetoilet seat 12 and releasably retain thecover 26 on thetoilet seat 12. A secondelastic member 40 is coupled to thebottom surface 30 of thecover 26. The secondelastic member 40 is aligned with and is coextensive with the outwardly facingside 36. Additionally, the secondelastic member 40 biases the outwardly facingside 36 to frictionally engage thebottom surface 30 of thetoilet seat 12 and releasably retain thecover 26 on thetoilet seat 12. - In use, the
cover 26 is positioned on thetop surface 28 of thetoilet seat 12 such that thecover 26 wraps around onto thebottom surface 30 of thetoilet seat 12. Each of the first 38 and second 40 elastic members retains thecover 26 on thetoilet seat 12. Thecover 26 insulates the user from thetoilet seat 12 when the user sits on thetoilet seat 12. Additionally, thecover 26 inhibits the transmission of bacteria between the user and thetoilet seat 12. Thecover 26 is additionally taken along during hotel stays to place on atoilet seat 12 in the hotel. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
