Abstract
A snapback adornment system is provided. The snapback system enables users to interchangeably and selectively adorn the snapback strap of a snapback cap with at least one stylized ornaments. The snapback adornment system includes ornaments having an ornamental body permanently joined to a detachable fastener. The detachable fastener can be removably connected to any of the spaced apart holes provided by the snapback strap, so as to prominently display at least one desired ornamental body on the snapback cap.
Description
- The present invention relates to decoration systems and, more particularly, to a snapback adornment system for interchangeably adorning the snapback strap of a snapback cap with stylized ornaments.
- It is popular for individuals to wear baseball caps with snapback straps providing spaced apart holes for adjusting the circumferential hat size. As a result, there is empty real estate along the snapback strap providing the holes that isn't being utilized in a fashionable manner.
- Considering that currently snapback hats are a trendy fashion statement, the opportunity cost of leaving this portion of the snapback hat unadorned is steep, in a fashion sense, and otherwise boring.
- As can be seen, there is a need for a snapback adornment system for interchangeably adorning the snapback strap of a snapback cap with stylized ornaments.
- In one aspect of the present invention, a snapback adoration system includes a snapback headwear having a female band providing a plurality of spaced apart holes; and at least one ornament independent of the snapback headwear, each ornament providing an ornamental body; and a detachable fastener joined to the ornamental body, wherein the detachable fastener is dimensioned to removably connect to any hole of the plurality of spaced apart holes.
- In another aspect of the present invention, the snapback adoration system includes a snapback headwear having a female band providing a plurality of spaced apart holes; and at least one ornament independent of the snapback headwear, each ornament providing an ornamental body; and a detachable fastener joined to a center of gravity of the ornamental body, the detachable fastener including a stem interconnecting the ornamental body and a bulbous head; and the bulbous head having an arcuate top portion and a substantially flat bottom portion perpendicularly connected to the stem, wherein the bottom portion provides a rounded periphery, and wherein the arcuate top portion and the rounded periphery are dimensioned to removably connect to any hole of the plurality of spaced apart holes.
- In yet another aspect of the present invention, a method of adorning a snapback headwear providing a female band providing a plurality of spaced apart holes includes the steps of; providing a plurality of ornaments disclosed above; and removably connecting the detachable fastener of one ornament of the plurality of ornaments of claim 1 to any desired hole of the plurality of spaced apart holes.
- These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, shown in use -
FIG. 2 is a front perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a rear perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a section view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, taken along line 4-4 ofFIG. 1 ; -
FIG. 5 is an elevational view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 6 is an elevational view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 7 is an elevational view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 8 is an elevational view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. - The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
- Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a snapback adornment system for interchangeably and selectively adorning the snapback strap of a snapback cap with at least one stylized ornaments. The snapback adornment system includes ornaments having an ornamental body permanently joined to a detachable fastener. The detachable fastener can be removably connected to any of the spaced apart holes provided by the snapback strap, thereby providing the selectivity and interchangeability of the present invention.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 through 8 , the present invention may include a snapback adornment system for interchangeably adorning the snapback strap of a snapback cap with stylized ornaments. - The
snapback adornment system 100 may includesnapback headwear 20 and at least one cap-snap ornament 50. Thesnapback headwear 20 may provide amale strap 14 and an opposingfemale strap 16, whereby adjustably connecting the male andfemale straps 16 enables a user to selective define the hat size of thesnapback headwear 20. Thefemale strap 16 provides a plurality of spaced apartholes 18, as illustrated inFIG. 1 . - Each cap-
snap ornament 50 provides adetachable fastener 12 permanently connected to a 10, 22, 24, 26 or 28, wherein thebody detachable fastener 12 is adapted to selectively interlock with any one of the plurality ofholes 18 in a locked engagement, as illustrated inFIG. 4 ., thereby decorating thesnapback headwear 20. Once thedetachable fastener 12 is disengaged, the cap-snap ornament 50 is wholly disconnected from thesnapback headwear 20, thus permitting thesnapback headwear 20 to be interchangeably adorned with at least one, though possibly a plurality of, cap-snap ornaments 50 along different portions of thefemale straps 16, thereby affecting different ornamental styles and appearances. An important aspect of the invention is that the applicability of thedetachable fastener 12 makes it unnecessary for the user to permanently determine the aesthetically pleasing location of theornament 50. - The
detachable fastener 12 may be defined as mushroom shaped in three dimensions, and therefore having a bulbous “mushroom”cap 13 with an arcuate or curvedtop portion 15 and a substantially flat, but peripherallyrounded bottom portion 17, extending and perpendicular to a “mushroom”stem 11. The mushroom cap is dimensioned and adapted to penetrate ahole 18 so as to fully protrude from the other side of thefemale strap 16, as illustrated inFIG. 4 . Therounded bottom portion 17 enables a user to urge the removal of thedetachable fastener 12 from thehole 18, thereby detachably connecting theornament 50 to thesnapback headwear 20. The bulbous “mushroom”cap 13 may be made of deformable material enabling it to elastically deform so as to facilitate the detachable connection. - The
detachable fastener 12 may be connected to theornament 50 at or above the center of gravity of the 10, 22, 24, 26 or 28, thereby preventing thebody 10, 22, 24, 26 or 28 from tipping under the force of gravity (and thus obscuring its aesthetics) when being worn. As well as avoiding the creation of a moment force at the juncture of thebody detachable fastener 12 and thehole 18, which may lead to unintentional detachment of theornament 50. - The
10, 22, 24, 26 or 28 may include or be configured in the shape of a replica, such as that of an anchor, body symbols 22, icons from 24 and 26,popular culture sports teams 28 or the like. - A method of using the present invention may include the following. The
snapback adornment system 100 disclosed above may be provided. A user may selectively choose at least oneornament 50 having a 10, 22, 24, 26 or 28, and by detachably connecting thedesire body configuration detachable fastener 12 to arespective hole 18 of thefemale strap 16, thereby stylishly adorning asnapback cap 20. - It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
