  • The disclosure and prior art relates to retention devices and more particularly pertains to a new retention device for reducing movement of garments on a user.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising first and second tabs, which are flexible. A first fastener is coupled to a first face of the first tab. A second fastener is coupled to a first side of the second tab. The first fastener is positioned on the first tab such that the first tab is configured to couple to an inside of an outer garment, such as a skirt or a dress. The second fastener is positioned on the second tab such that the second tab is configured to couple to a surface, such as an inner garment or the skin of a user, adjacent to the first tab. The first tab is positioned to contact the second tab such that the first tab and the outer garment are retained in a substantially fixed position relative to the second tab.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is an isometric perspective view of an apparel retention device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is an isometric perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new retention device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the apparel retention device 10 generally comprises a first tab 12 and a second tab 14. The first tab 12 and the second tab 14 are flexible. In one embodiment, the first tab 12 is substantially rectangularly shaped. In another embodiment, the first tab 12 is substantially ovally shaped. In yet another embodiment, the first tab 12 is curved such that a second face 16 of the first tab 12 is convexly shaped. The second tab 14 is shaped and sized substantially complementarily to the first tab 12.
  • In one embodiment, the first tab 12 and the second tab 14 comprise rubber. In another embodiment, the first tab 12 and the second tab 14 comprise silicone.
  • A first fastener 18 is coupled to a first face 20 of the first tab 12. A second fastener 22 is coupled to a first side 24 of the second tab 14. The first fastener 18 and the second fastener 22 comprise adhesive.
  • A first cover 26 is reversibly couplable to the first fastener 18. The first cover 26 is positioned to couple to the first fastener 18 such that the first fastener 18 is shielded until the first cover 26 is decoupled from the first fastener 18. A second cover 28 is reversibly couplable to the second fastener 22. The second cover 28 is positioned to couple to the second fastener 22 such that the second fastener 22 is shielded until the second cover 28 is decoupled from the second fastener 22.
  • In one embodiment, a first coupler 30 is coupled to the second face 16 of the first tab 12. A second coupler 32 is coupled to a second side 34 of the second tab 14. The second coupler 32 is complementary to the first coupler 30. The second coupler 32 is positioned to couple to the first coupler 30 such that the first tab 12 is coupled to the second tab 14. In another embodiment, the first coupler 30 and the second coupler 32 comprise a nylon hook and loop fastener 36.
  • In use, the first fastener 18 is positioned on the first tab 12 such that the first tab 12 is configured to couple to an inside of an outer garment, such as a skirt or a dress. The second fastener 22 is positioned on the second tab 14 such that the second tab 14 is configured to couple to a surface, such as an inner garment or the skin of a user, adjacent to the first tab 12. The first tab 12 is positioned to contact the second tab 14 such that the first tab 12 and the outer garment are retained in a substantially fixed position relative to the second tab 14.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
