Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (1) Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to cleaning devices and more particularly pertains to a new dishwashing mitten for cleaning dishes.
  • (2) Background of Invention
  • Although Many if not Most of the homes are equipped with dishwashing machines, the washing of dishes by hand is still commonly done. In-such homes that do not include a dishwasher, the entire dishwashing process is performed by hand; in these homes that do include a dishwasher, the initial washing operation is also still often performed by hand usually to remove the more difficult to remove food particles, before the prewashed dish is placed in the dishwasher. On occasion, the item being washed, such as a large pot or frying pan, may be too large to conveniently fit in the dishwashing machine, and thus must be completely washed by hand.
  • Since many of the dishwashing soaps include caustic chemicals that may irritate and chafe the user's hands, it is by now a common practice for the individual who is washing dishes to wear a glove, typically one made of rubber, to protect his or her hands from the dishwashing soap while he or she is washing dishes. It is also common and also often necessary for the person who is washing dishes to employ additional implements to facilitate and speed up the dishwashing procedure. One commonly used dishwashing implement is a sponge that absorbs a relatively large amount of the dishwashing soap; another is an abrasive material, such as a pad of steel wool, which is used to remove food particles that cling to the dish, pot or pan being washed.
  • The typical home-keeper must thus purchase and maintain separate supplies of rubber gloves, soap sponges and abrasive pads and must keep them readily available near the sink so that they are all readily accessible when he or she is washing dishes. However, it is often the case that the homeowner runs out of a usable sponge or abrasive pad with the washing detergents or bars and learns of this fact while he or she has need for its use while washing dishes. On other occasions, it is difficult to find a usable sponge or abrasive pad with the washing detergents or bars, and on yet other occasions the handling of a sponge or abrasive pad, washing detergents or bars by an individual wearing soapy or wet dishwashing gloves is cumbersome and frustrating to the user.
  • There thus exists a need for a dishwashing implement that is more convenient in use and which does away with the above-described difficulties associated with the use of a conventional dishwashing glove.
  • As such, it may be appreciated that there continues to be a need for a new and improved dishwashing mitten as set forth by the instant invention which addresses the problems of ease of use as well as effectiveness in construction in providing the dishwashing mitten for use in cleaning dishes and in this respect, the present invention substantially fulfills this need.

  • Accordingly, it is a primary aspect of the present invention to provide a dishwashing mitten, which comprises the dishwashing detergent in form of get pod or bar for effective cleaning.
  • In another aspect, the present invention provides a dishwashing mitten which is waterproof to protect the hand of a person using the mitten from the dishwashing detergents and the like.
  • It is yet another aspect of the present invention where the dishwashing mitten eliminates the need for user to stop washing dishes to reach for separate abrasive pad and liquid detergent.
  • Additionally, the dishwashing mitten allows the user to scrub even tough burned on food particles from pots and dishes in one quick step, providing more scrubbing power by allowing use of the entire hand.
  • Further aspect of the present invention provides a reusable, disposable dishwashing mitten that is simple and convenient to use.
  • A still further aspect is to provide a dishwashing mitten which is susceptible of a low cost of manufacture with regard to both materials and labor, and which accordingly is then susceptible of low prices of sale to the consuming public, thereby making such cleaning glove economically available to the buying public.
  • It is still another aspect of the present invention to provide a new and improved dishwashing mitten which may be easily and efficiently manufactured and marketed.
  • It is a further aspect of the present invention to provide a new and improved dishwashing mitten which is of a durable and reliable construction.
  • Other aspects of the present invention will become apparent from time to time throughout the specification as hereinafter related.
