  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The following description of the preferred embodiments of the invention is intended to enable someone skilled in the prior art to make and use this invention, but is not intended to limit the invention to these preferred embodiments.
  • 1. First Preferred Embodiment
  • As shown in FIG. 1, the system of the preferred embodiments is a facial hair coloring device 1 including: a container 2 including at least two compartments 3, where one compartment 3 contains at least one of a coloring agent and a bleaching agent, and where the other compartment 3 contains at least one of a developer, an activator, and a chemical reagent designed to have a chemical reaction with the at least one of a coloring agent and a bleaching agent; a breakable seal 4 separating the at least two compartments 3; an applicator tool 5 adapted to fit into the at least two compartments 3, where the applicator tool 5 is further adapted to break the breakable seal 4 between the at least two compartments 3, where the applicator tool 5 is further adapted to assist the user in mixing the contents of the at least two compartments 3, where the applicator tool 5 is further designed to apply the mixed contents of the at least two compartments 3 to facial hair. The facial hair coloring device 1 of the first preferred embodiments is preferably designed to provide a compact system with a pre-measured amount of at least one of a two part liquid coloring system and a two part paste coloring system, where the system includes an applicator and contains everything in an easy-to-use package that promotes easy and complete mixing and allows coloring areas of facial hair that are smaller than are generally addressed by hair coloring systems, while preferably being a single use, disposable, low-mess system. The system of the preferred embodiments may, however, be used for any suitable purpose.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, the facial hair coloring device 1 includes a container 2 separated into at least two compartments 3 by a breakable seal 4. In a preferred embodiment, the container 2 is an elongated outer container 6 and the at least two compartments 3 are axially separated inside the elongated outer container 6 by at least one breakable seal 4. In this preferred variation, as shown in FIG. 3, the user may insert the applicator tool 5 through the first compartment 3 and push it through the breakable seal 4 into the at least one additional compartment 7; as shown in FIG. 4, in a preferred variation the user may then use at least one of a reciprocating motion and a rotary motion with the applicator tool 5 to help mix the contents of the at least two compartments 3 for use. In a preferred variation, the elongated outer container 6 is made of a flexible material and the user may squeeze the walls of the elongated outer container 6. In this variation, squeezing the container 2 may help the user get all of the contents of the container 2 out of the container 2 for use. In a variation of this variation, the flexible material is at least one of a flexible polymer and a metal foil at least one of laminated and coated with a polymer. The container 2 may, however, have any suitable design and layout. The at least two compartments 3 may, however, be arranged in any suitable layout. The container 2 may, however, be made of any suitable material with any suitable characteristics. The user may, however, mix the contents of the at least two compartments 3 in any suitable manner.
  • In a preferred variation, the breakable seal 4 is made of a metal foil at least one of laminated and covered with a polymer. In another preferred variation, the breakable seal 4 is made of a polymer material. The breakable seal 4 may, however, be made of any suitable material.
  • The contents of the at least two compartments 3 preferably form a multi-component chemical system for at least one of dyeing hair and bleaching hair. When the contents of the at least two compartments 3 are mixed, they preferably undergo a chemical reaction which activates them for use in at least one of dyeing and bleaching human hair. At least one compartment 3 preferably contains at least one of a coloring agent and a bleaching agent. The at least one additional compartment 7 preferably contains at least one of a developer, an activator, and a chemical reagent adapted to have a chemical reaction with the at least one of a coloring agent and a bleaching agent. It is common for two part dyeing mixtures to be used in coloring human hair. It is also common for two part bleaching mixtures to be used in coloring human hair, and in a variation these bleaching mixtures often contain peroxides and ammonia compounds. The contents of the at least two compartments 3 may, however, have any suitable composition for forming a multi-part system for at least one of coloring and bleaching human hair.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, an applicator tool 5 having an elongated shaft is included with the facial hair coloring device 1. In a preferred variation, the elongated shaft is preferably made from polymer. As shown in FIG. 1, in a preferred variation the applicator tool 5 includes at least one of brush bristles 8, a sponge, a comb, radial protrusions, a spoon-like end, and a flattened spade-like end. In this preferred variation, the at least one of brush bristles 8, a sponge, a comb, radial protrusions, a spoon-like end, and a flattened spade-like end help in at least one of 1) mixing the contents of the at least two compartments 3, and 2) applying the mixed contents to facial hair. As shown in FIG. 1, in a preferred variation the applicator tool 5 is attached to the lid of the container 2. As shown in FIG. 2, in another preferred variation the applicator tool 5 is inserted through a hole in the lid with the end of the applicator tool 5 in the first compartment 3, and a handle is attached to the distal end of the applicator tool 5 elongated shaft outside of the container 2, and this is how the facial hair coloring device 1 is packaged; the applicator tool 5 can be pushed through the breakable seal 4 and then used to mix and apply the contents of the compartments 3. In another preferred variation, the applicator tool 5 elongated shaft can be removably attached to an adapter in the container 2 lid, where the container 2 lid is removed and the shaft is fitted to the adapter attached to the lid so that the lid acts as a handle for the applicator tool 5, but the system can be packaged in a more compact package.
  • As shown in FIG. 5, the facial hair coloring device 1 is preferably used to apply the mixed contents of the at least two compartments 3 to facial hair, where facial hair includes at least one of eyebrow 9 9 s, mustaches, beards, and sideburns. Prior art devices do not provide a mess free, all-in-one, small, single use device and packaging for applying amounts of coloring mixture suitable for single use on facial hair, while also providing a way to properly mix the contents of the compartments 3 in a thorough fashion and without making a mess. At least one prior art system involves squeezing the contents of the coloring system, which would result in no substantial mixing of the contents, unless they were mixed outside of the device which would negate avoiding creating a mess.
  • As shown in FIG. 6, in one preferred embodiment a conical wipe 10 is included at the entrance of at least one compartment, where it may help keep the application process clean.
  • As a person skilled in the art will recognize from the previous detailed description and from the figures and claims, modifications and changes can be made to the preferred embodiments of the invention without departing from the scope of this invention defined in the following claims.
