Abstract
A dust capturing system for capturing airborne dust when a fan is turned on includes a fan that is coupled to a ceiling. The fan has a plurality of blades and the fan rotates the blades when the fan is turned on. A plurality of socks is provided and each of the socks is positioned around one of the blades. Thus, each of the socks may capture dust when the fan is turned on.
Description
- The disclosure relates to capturing devices and more particularly pertains to a new capturing device for capturing airborne dust when a fan is turned on.
- SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a fan that is coupled to a ceiling. The fan has a plurality of blades and the fan rotates the blades when the fan is turned on. A plurality of socks is provided and each of the socks is positioned around one of the blades. Thus, each of the socks may capture dust when the fan is turned on.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a dust capturing system according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line 4-4 ofFIG. 3 of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new capturing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the dust capturingsystem 10 generally comprises afan 12 that is coupled to a ceiling 14. Thefan 12 has a plurality ofblades 16 and each of theblades 16 has adistal end 18 with respect to thefan 12. Thefan 12 rotates theblades 16 when thefan 12 is turned on. Thefan 12 may comprise an electrical ceiling fan or the like. - A plurality of
socks 20 is provided and each of thesocks 20 is positioned around one of theblades 16. Thus, each of thesocks 20 may captureairborne dust 22 when thefan 12 is turned on. Each of thesocks 20 has afirst end 24, asecond end 26 and anouter wall 28 extending between thefirst end 24 and thesecond end 26. Thefirst end 24 of each of thesocks 20 is open and thefirst end 24 of each of thesocks 20 insertably receives thedistal end 18 of an associated one of theblades 16. Each of thesocks 20 is positioned to substantially cover the associatedblade 16. Each of thesocks 20 may be comprised of a resiliently stretchable material such as nylon or the like such the each of thesocks 20 frictionally engages the associatedblade 16. - A plurality of
elastic members 30 is provided. Each of theelastic members 30 is coupled to an associated one of thesocks 20 and each of theelastic members 30 is coextensive with thefirst end 24 of the associatedsock 20. Each of theelastic members 30 urges thefirst end 24 to frictionally engage the associatedblade 16 thereby retaining each of thesocks 20 on the associatedblade 16. - In use, the
socks 20 are positioned on the associatedblade 16. Thefan 12 is turned on to rotate theblades 16. Thesocks 20 capture theairborne dust 22 as theblades 16 are rotated. Thesocks 20 are removed from theblades 16 when thesocks 20 become covered withairborne dust 22. Each of thesocks 20 is cleaned and each of thesocks 20 is positioned on the associatedblade 16. Thesocks 20 inhibit theblades 16 from becoming covered withairborne dust 22 while thefan 12 is operated. Additionally, thesocks 20 reduce an amount ofairborne dust 22 by collecting theairborne dust 22 when thefan 12 is operated. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
