Abstract

This product is a set of decals designed to transform a light source into a set of navigation lights. This allows water craft to travel safely after dark. It is good for emergency replacement of existing navigation lighting. It can also be used to add navigation lights to craft with no power source.

Claims (1)

1. Watercraft reflective side marker decals can be used on all watercraft. It does not matter if you have a canoe, a jet ski, a speed boat, a tug, a barge, or even a ship if you own watercraft and you want an extra degree of safety, this is the product for you. When you are on the water after dark every opportunity you have to be seen or to see another vessel reduces the chance of an accident, the results of which could be catastrophic. Considering navigation lights are required, and should be enough, watercraft reflective side marker decals improve the ability to see another vessel in your searchlight or to be seen by theirs. The flash of reflective in the color of side marker that corresponds to the navigation light could possibly be the warning necessary to arrive back to land safely and avoiding property damage, injury, delays, and possibly death. The fact that side marker decals are available for trailers used on public roads testifies to the fact that boats should have this option considering the fact that boats don't follow a rigid course that is literally set in stone, side markers are a smart choice. Any place there is water of sufficient depth there could be a boat. Two boats in the same place could become a very bad situation quickly. I am not saying they prevent all accidents, but I am certain any extra effort should be appreciated.
