Description
- 1. Fields of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a cordless curtain, and more particularly, to a cordless curtain operated by equal-shaped magnets attached to the fabric.
- 2. Descriptions of Related Art
- One of the conventional cordless curtain is disclosed in applicant's former U.S. Pat. No. 7,150,304 which discloses multiple magnets connected to the fabric so that when the curtain is folded, the user folds the bottom end of the fabric upward to attract the magnets consecutively. When expanding the fabric, the user pulls the bottom end of the fabric to detach the magnets one by one. No cord needed.
- However, the magnets have to be connected to the fabric one by one by either melting art or sewing art. This takes a lot of time and the magnets may shift by impact.
- An operation rod can be used to fold the fabric, the operation rod is an individual part and can easily get lost.
- U.S. Pub. No. 2012/0234502 A1 discloses a rod or a tube to be transversely connected to the fabric, and the magnets are connected to the rod or received in the tube.
- Nevertheless, the problems of the positioning of the rod and the tube, and the positioning of the magnets are not improved.
- The present invention intends to provide a cordless curtain with a magnetic operation system to eliminate the shortcomings mentioned above.
- The present invention relates to a cordless curtain and comprises a fabric having a top end and a bottom end. Multiple magnet units are connected to the fabric. Each magnet unit has a box, multiple magnets and a decoration piece. The box is a metal box with a bottom wall and multiple sidewalls extend from the multiple sides of the bottom wall. An open side defined between the bottom wall and the multiple sidewalls. The magnets are magnetically attracted to the bottom wall. The decoration piece is connected to the fabric so as to form a passage between the decoration piece and the fabric. The box is received in the passage. An operation unit is connected to the fabric and has a head and a rod. The head is fixed to the lowest box of the fabric. The head has a slot defined in the underside thereof. The rod has a connection end which is securely inserted into the slot. The rod folds the fabric to attract the magnet units one by one.
- Preferably, the slot of the head is defined between a front part and a rear part. The connection end is a flat end which is located in the slot. The rear part is attached to the outside of the decorative piece. A bolt extends through the rear part and the decorative piece, and is fixed to the bottom wall of the box to connect the head to the fabric. The bolt is connected to the bottom wall and located between any two of the magnets.
- Preferably, the rod does not extend beyond the bottom end of the fabric.
- Preferably, the top end is connected to a top rail which has multiple grooves defined in the underside thereof. Each groove is connected with a fabric. Each fabric has a connection member connected to the top end thereof. The connection member is connected with a seat which is connected with a wheel which is movable in the groove corresponding thereto.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide a cordless curtain wherein the magnets are received in the box and the box is inserted into the passage so that the magnet units are quickly installed and the magnets do not lost.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a cordless curtain wherein the magnets are attracted to the bottom wall of each of the boxes, and the bottom wall of each of the boxes faces toward the outside of the fabric so that the magnets are efficiently attracted to each other when folding the fabric.
- Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a cordless curtain wherein the operation unit is directly connected to the fabric and provides convenience to the users. The rod of the operation unit does not lost.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
