Abstract
A Table Tennis weighted training system consisting of a weighted clip. The weighted stainless steel clips adds, when clipped on properly, weight to the table tennis paddle. This allows the table tennis player to strengthen his/her table tennis skills and muscles with the weighted training system.
Description
- The present invention relates to the field of human body athletic training. It also, more specifically, relates to a weighted Table Tennis paddle.
- Table Tennis is a sport that uses many muscles in the human body. There are many forms of weighted training for athletes, but those training systems are general muscle training. Table Tennis athletes need a way of training that can help their specific muscles needed for Table Tennis. Furthermore, general workouts do not help the specific muscles needed for table tennis. These factors limit the potential of a professional Table Tennis player. The solution is a training system that puts weight on the Table Tennis paddle, enabling training that trains the muscles specifically needed for Table Tennis.
- Weighted training has been around for many years. However, these systems allow only for general muscle training. Simple lifting weights or doing bicep workouts only allows for general exercise. However, with a weighted Table Tennis paddle you are able to play Table Tennis along with weight on your paddle that will train your muscles while playing Table Tennis. This training method will better prepare the Table Tennis player's muscles that are specific to Table Tennis. According to Pongworld, it is beneficial to do daily exercises. For example, Bicycling, swimming, and cross country skiing are all great ways to train. Later on in the article they state, “You should also train those muscles used in Table Tennis.” This establishes the need for a Table Tennis muscle training system. Although general workout and muscle training is good and helpful, training the specific muscles needed for Table Tennis is more beneficial.

FIG. 3 is a side view of the weighted clip attached to a Table Tennis paddle. -
FIG. 1 shows the front of the weighted training clip clipped on to the front of the ping pong paddle. Thefastening cord 102 fastens theweights 101. Eachweight 101 is designed to be exactly 0.2 pounds. The full clip is only designed to be 1 inch wide and 3/4 of an inch long. Thefastening cord 102 is penetrating all the way through theweights 101. The location that the clip is clipped onto does not matter. If placed somewhere else on the paddle the invention will not be used to its full capability. The user may clip the weight on wherever preferred. However, when clipped on to the edge of the paddle the user is allowed to play the game of Table Tennis and have the clip not interfere with the game. By clipping theweight 101 on the edge the user can play Table Tennis and improve their Table Tennis muscles at the same time. -
FIG. 2 shows the side view of the weighted clip. The space in between the twoweights 101 is half an inch, and thefastening cord 102 is 1¾ inches long. The fastening cord runs through both of theweights 101 as well as leaving some room for pulling purposes. When the fastening cord is pulled 102, and there is some extra sticking out; there is amagnet 104 near the edge that will stick to theweights 101. -
FIG. 3 depicts what all of the parts of the weighted training system look all together. TheTable Tennis Paddle 103 fits inside the ½ inch space in between bothweights 101. Fastening the weights on properly is crucial is the user is to use this system properly to enhance the training of the athlete. The user is to put the paddle in between the twoweights 101. Then, the user is to pull the fasteningcord 102 to tighten the two weights onto the paddle. Thefastening cord 102 pulls the twoweights 101. With the excess fastening cord now on top of theweight 101 it can now stick to the top of the weight. Themagnet 104 on the fastening cord can now stick to theweight 101. After all of these steps have been carried out, the user can fully use the weighted training system.
Claims (3)
1. A weighted training system that contains two 0.2 pound weights, a fastening cord made of polyurethane foam, and a magnet on the tip of the fastening cord. The weighted training system can be mounted onto the Table Tennis paddle by the fastening cord made of polyurethane foam to tighten the two 0.2 pound weights. The magnetic tip on the fastening cord will attach to the metal weights to keep the weights from coming apart.
2. The fastening device of claim 1 ,
Wherein the fastening cord is made of polyurethane foam to assure minimal Table Tennis paddle damage and minimal Table Tennis ball damage.
3. The clip will only be only 1 inch 2.54 centimeters long, 1.905 centimeters ¾ of an inch wide, and it will only be attached to the paddle ¼ of an inch 0.635 centimeters in the space of the paddle.
