Abstract
An electric plating hanging rod assembly for supporting a work piece to be plated, comprises a hanging rod having an upper retaining bar and a lower retaining bar; a distal end of the upper retaining bar far away from the hanging rod being pointed upwards; and a distal end of the lower retaining bar far away from the hanging rod being pointed downwards. The hanging rod extended with at least one upper supporting rod and at least one lower supporting rod which are alternatively arranged; at a distal end of the upper supporting rod far away from the hanging rod is fixed with an upper retaining bar and at a distal end of the lower supporting rod far away from the hanging rod is fixed with a lower retaining bar. A distal end of each of the upper and lower retaining is formed as a tapered reduced end.
Description
- The present invention relates to a plating tool and the way for performing the plating by the tool, and in particular to an electric plating hanging rod and a method for using the same.
- In electrically plating, it is often seen that the work piece to be plated is very large and thus a plating frame is used, as illustrated in
FIG. 7 . In plating, ahanging rod 4 is extended with a supportingrod 41 which is installed with a combiningstud 411 at a distal end thereof. In use, the combiningstud 411 passes through anupper hole 51 of thework piece 5. Then anut 412 serves to lock the combiningstud 411 to the work piece. - The
nut 412 covers an area on the outer surface of thework piece 5. In plating, thehanging rod 4 with thework piece 5 is sunk into a plating tank (not shown), while the area covered by thenut 412 cannot be plated. This will cause a defect in plating operation. A repairing process can be performed to the area, but this is time-consumed and increases the cost. Therefore, there is an eager demand for a novel way to resolve this prior art problem. - The present invention discloses a plating hanging rod for electrically plating with a hanging work piece. The present invention comprises the following elements. A hanging rod is extended with at least one upper supporting rod and at least one lower supporting rod which are alternatively arranged. At a distal end of the upper supporting rod far away from the hanging rod is fixed with an upper retaining bar and at a distal end of the lower supporting rod far away from the hanging rod is fixed with a lower retaining bar. A distal end of the upper retaining bar far away from the hanging rod is pointed upwards; and a distal end of the lower retaining bar far away from the hanging rod is pointed downwards.
- In use, the hanging rod is applied to a work piece. The work piece has an upper through hole and a lower through hole. The upper retaining bar passes through the upper through hole and the lower retaining bar passes through the lower through hole; and the upper retaining bar and the lower retaining bar are tightly engaged with the upper through hole and the lower through hole, respectively. Therefore, when the work piece with the hanging rod of the present invention is sunk into an electric plating tank (not shown), an outer surface of the work piece is not been clamped by any clamping tool so that the outer surface can be completely plated without any blind area which cannot be plated. Therefore, the whole quality in plating is promoted.
- Preferably, the upper retaining bar is retained to the upper supporting rod through a movable assembling unit; and the lower retaining bar is retained to the lower supporting rod through a movable assembling unit so that the upper retaining bar and the lower retaining bar are updatable from the respective upper supporting rod and the lower supporting rod.
- Moreover, a distal end of the upper retaining bar far away from the hanging rod is formed as a tapered reduced end; and a distal end of the lower retaining bar far away from the hanging rod is formed as a tapered reduced end.

FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing that the present invention is retained to a work piece. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing that the present invention is retained to a work piece with a partial enlarged view about a retained state of the upper retaining bar to the through hole. -
FIG. 5 shows one use of the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a flow diagram of the present invention. -
FIG. 7 shows the prior art retaining structure. - With reference to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , the present invention relates to a plating hanging rod for electrically plating with a hanging work piece. The present invention comprises the following elements. - A
hanging rod 1 is extended with at least one upper supportingrod 3A and at least one lower supportingrod 3B which are alternatively arranged. At a distal end of the upper supportingrod 3A far away from the hangingrod 1 is fixed with anupper retaining bar 11 and at a distal end of the lower supportingrod 3B far away from the hangingrod 1 is fixed with alower retaining bar 12. - A distal end of the
upper retaining bar 11 far away from thehanging rod 1 is pointed upwards; and a distal end of thelower retaining bar 12 far away from thehanging rod 1 is pointed downwards. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 , 4 and 5, the use of the present invention is illustrated. In that thehanging rod 1 of the present invention is applied to awork piece 2. Thework piece 2 has an upper throughhole 21 and a lower throughhole 22. Theupper retaining bar 11 passes through the upper throughhole 21 and thelower retaining bar 12 passes through the lower throughhole 22; and theupper retaining bar 11 and thelower retaining bar 12 are tightly engaged with the upper throughhole 21 and the lower throughhole 22, respectively. Therefore, when thework piece 2 with the hangingrod 1 of the present invention is sunk into an electric plating tank (not shown), an outer surface of the work piece is not been clamped by any clamping tool so that the outer surface can be completely plated without any blind area which cannot be plated. Therefore, the whole quality in plating is promoted. - With reference to
FIG. 2 , preferably, theupper retaining bar 11 is retained to the upper supportingrod 3A through a movable assemblingunit 31; and thelower retaining bar 12 is retained to the lower supportingrod 3B through amovable assembling unit 32 so that theupper retaining bar 11 and thelower retaining bar 12 are updatable from the respective upper supportingrod 3A and the lower supportingrod 3B. - With reference to
FIGS. 2 and 4 , a distal end of theupper retaining bar 11 far away from the hangingrod 1 is formed as a tapered reduced end; and a distal end of thelower retaining bar 12 far away from the hangingrod 1 is formed as a tapered reduced end. - With reference to
FIG. 5 , it is illustrated that in use of the present invention, a plurality of hangingrods 1 can be installed separately. This is suitable for thelarge work piece 2, such as a car safety rod. - With reference to
FIG. 6 , a method for plating by using the hanging rod of the present invention comprises the following steps of: -
- 1. Taking a hanging
rod 1; wherein the hangingrod 1 is retained with anupper retaining bar 11 and alower retaining bar 12. Thework piece 2 has an upper throughhole 21 and a lower throughhole 22. A distal end of theupper retaining bar 11 far away from thehanging rod 1 is pointed upwards; and a distal end of thelower retaining bar 12 far away from thehanging rod 1 is pointed downwards. - 2. Passing the
upper retaining bar 11 of the hanging rod through the upper throughhole 21 to be being tightly engaged therewith; and passing thelower retaining bar 12 of the hangingrod 1 through the lower throughhole 22 to be tightly engaged therewith; - 3. Sinking the hanging
rod 1 with thework piece 2 into an electric plating tank (not shown) for electrically plating. - 4. After plating, lifting the
hanging rod 1 and thework piece 2 from the tank.
- 1. Taking a hanging
- The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
