- U.S. Pat. No. 7,398,607 Heel strap apparatus
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,038,499 Separable shoe strap construction
- U.S. Pat. No. 7,727,608 Adhesive pads for footwear
- The present disclosure is directed to footwear accessory, and more particularly to women's footwear.
- This invention relates in general to women's footwear and more particularly, to a shoe of the general pump characteristics, which is uniquely constructed with a closed heel. Present day high heel strapless shoes, for the most part do not provide adequate stability to support the wearers heel from slipping out of the shoe. There are examples of prior art U.S. Pat. No. 7,398,607 which attempts to address the problem of the wearer's walking out of their shoes. Also there are currently many types of adhesive backed heel pads which are designed to provide grip in order to prevent the wearer from walking completely out of their shoes. Furthermore the currently designed adhesive backed heel pads, when adhered to the inside rear of the wearer's shoe will protrude from the top right or left side of the shoe in some instances, which is very unsightly.
- The principal objective of the invention is to provide a new designed adhesive backed heel pad by which the above described inadequacies of the present adhesive backed heel pad will be overcome.
- The construction of the invention includes a predetermined shape designed adhesive backed heel pad with a loop attachment which will create support when an ankle strap is inserted in the loop attachment. This invention will provide rear foot stability and prevent the wearer from walking out of their shoes therefore resolving both inadequacies.
-
- The predetermined shaped adhesive backed heel pad design will prevent protrusion of the pad over the top right or left side of the shoe.
- The loop attachment to the adhesive backed heel pad will provide attributes that will allow an ankle strap to be inserted, thus providing stability to the wearer and prevent the wearer from walking out of their shoe.
- Accordingly, several objectives and advantages of the invention are (a) to provide a realistic shoe accessory that will solve the problem of the wearer's feet from slipping out of strapless shoes (b) to provide a fashionable, functional and affordable product to the market place (c) to provide a product that will be a permanent fixture to an existing shoe without compromising the workmanship of the shoe. (d) to provide a product that is user friendly to the customer, therefore does not require the work of a skilled shoe cobbler to install.
- In one aspect of the invention an adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment includes a pair of adhesive backed heel pads with loop attachments and a pair of ankle straps with buckle, wherein the adhesive backed heel pads with loop attachments will have a predetermined shape and will adhere to the inside rear of a strapless shoe with permanent adhesive.
- In another aspect of the invention, once the adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment is adhered to the wearer's shoe it will also allow the wearer to interchange the ankle straps with buckle to enhance the style of the original shoe without compromising the workmanship.
- An additional aspect of the invention is to provide a convenient, cost effective, appealing, self assembly solution to the problem of wearer's walking out of their shoes. The adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment and ankle strap with buckle closure is a simple solution to a growing problem especially for shoe wearers of moderate to excessively high heeled strapless shoes. The invention will allow the option for the wearer to purchase additional ankle straps as a replacement or an option to change the straps to a different color to enhance the beauty of the shoe, therefore giving the wearer flexibility to accessorize the existing shoe.
- Yet another very important aspect of the invention is the advantage of the invention being an instant yet permanent solution to the wearer's feet from slipping out of their shoes. The adhesive back heel pads with loop attachment are not reusable. Therefore this invention does not require the product to be stored separately from the shoes. The peel, adhere and attach process can be achieve by the wearer. The wearer will peel away the adhesive backing, adhere to the rear inside of the shoe, attach the ankle strap around the ankle and buckle close.
- The foregoing aspects and many of the advantages of this invention will become more readily appreciated as the same become better understood by reference to the following detailed description, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 depicts the rear view of the adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment. The front is free of any ornaments or adhesive. -
FIG. 2 depicts the rear view of the adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment and the ankle strap inserted through the loop attachment with buckle closure. -
FIG. 3 depicts the adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment adhered to the inside rear of the shoe with the ankle strap inserted through the loop attachment with buckle closure. -
FIG. 4 depicts the outside rear view of a strapless shoe with the adhesive backed heel pad with loop attachment with the ankle strap inserted through the loop attachment adhered to the inside rear of the wearer's shoe. - Accordingly the examiner will see that, according to the invention, I have provided a heel pad with loop attachment and ankle strap with buckle which is attachable by permanent adhesive to an existing shoe.
- While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been illustrated and described, it will be appreciated that various changes can be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
