Abstract

The invention is configured in a ladies purse with a separate apparatus incorporating a backing plate with a mounted holster for the safe and secure method of concealing and carrying a handgun. Whereby the opening of the apparatus allows for the hand to be placed on the grip of the handgun for rapid removal. The apparatus enclosure is secured with two separate looped zipper tabs, meeting together to secure with a key or combination locking device. The apparatus consists of leather or a fabric enclosure containing an affixed semi rigid backing plate, affixed with a mounted holster, with a trigger detent, and tension screws. The ejection port and gun slide are restricted, when in a stowed position. The rear sight, grip, and magazine are exposed on the outside of the holster. This invention is a adaptable within a gym bag, fanny pack, tote, and computer bag.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention involves a ladies purse, with a secured gun holster contained within a separate compartment. This device will allow a woman to safely carry a gun in her purse without movement or the risk of it falling out. In addition, with the locking device, which will prevent a child or unauthorized person from having access to the handgun.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

While men have historically carried guns, there has been a recent surge in women purchasing guns and obtaining a carry permit for self-defense reasons. The various available methods for safe carry do not work well for the female body.
Currently women do have the option to carry a concealed handgun in a holster on her body, which is typically cumbersome and uncomfortable. With today's fashions it is virtually impossible for a woman to wear a concealed handgun without the outline protruding from under clothing.
The current female carry methods can be an issue with small children having access to the purse, clothing and/or pockets, waist holster or a leg garter containing the handgun. Aside from the difficulty of carrying on a woman's body, the safety factor with children clearly inhibits a safe and secure carry method for women.
Currently, purses marketed for concealment contain a zippered compartment for a handgun. While this does provide concealment, it does not safely secure the handgun. A child or unauthorized person can have access to the purse containing the handgun.
It can also be crowded with other articles, which could cause an accidental discharge, if the safety is not on. Another example would be a comb or brush, which could become entangled, forcing the trigger back on a handgun with the safety adjoining the trigger.
If the currently marketed purse is tilted or falls on its side with the zipper portion open, the handgun will fall out. Since the handgun simply lies within the allotted portion, there is no trigger protective guard, and the gun can flop around inside the zippered area. This could cause the magazine to be unseated and the handgun would not operate properly.

BRIEF SUMMARY

The embodiment provides a safe, secure, and effective way to store, transport, and retain a concealed handgun within a woman's holster purse.
The Safe Carry System purse may be designed to store the handgun in the center or in a front padded panel, separate and apart from items contained within a woman's purse without disruption. With the separate portion, and locking device, the handgun is secured in a holster to prevent accidental discharge or removal by an unauthorized child or individual.
The zipper portion may be open for access, and if the purse should be turned on its side, the gun will not fall out of the holster. It also allows the woman to place her hand inside the separate compartment and on the grip/handle for quick and easy removal.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Safe Carry invention purse is designed so that a woman can put her hand on the handle/grip, while walking through a dark, unsafe area. If the purse is grabbed and pulled from behind or from her shoulder, the holster will quickly and easily release the gun in the hand.
In severe attack situation, the woman may put her hand in the handgun area of the purse, grip the handgun, pull back on the handle/grip to place a finger on the trigger, and fire through the purse. The holster will protect, hold and support the gun more securely, and will not restrict the slide to discharge through the purse.
Carrying the handgun in a level, ready firing position at retention, will keep the bullets from straying off to the left or right, too high or too low, and the risk of possibility of hitting an innocent victim.
This Safe Carry invention is designed to provide a level of secure carry, with the holster incorporated within the carry portion of the purse, and additionally by the adjoining or overlapping of the two zippers together for a locking device. This lock can be removed when leaving the house and secured for storage at home.
The invention will also give the woman a more secure feeling that she can be ready and steady at a moments notice. She can also feel better about the protected trigger guard on the holster to prevent accidental discharge.

Typically women are taught and practice taking a stance, with hands together to fire a handgun. Rarely does a woman have training to fire a weapon (strong arm or single hand) from retention. Due to the rapid reaction called for in a threatening situation, the invention creates a more natural response to draw from, and/or fire through the purse with the dominant arm hand.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring now to the drawing, there is shown a purse, (1) made of various materials adapted to contain a separate front panel for a handgun with zippers that separate and connect. This purse can be constructed to accommodate numerous manufactured revolver and semiautomatic handguns. The front and side panels (2) contain two separate zipper tabs (3) with loops that can be adjoined or overlapped to lock together. The purse may also be made with a (4) single or double short handle(s) to go over the forearm. The purse can contain a clasp (5) to close the separate compartments for storage in the purse. The adjoined looped zippers will accept a small lock to be opened (6) with a key or (7) by combination for security purposes. The purse (8) may be made with extended single or double handle(s) to carry on the shoulder or over the shoulder and across the chest. The purse (9) can be constructed with the securing panel on the inside of the purse with storage compartments on either side of the protected panel. The (10) semi-rigid backing plate containing the (11) holster does restrict the (12) handgun ejection port while in the secure position. When the gun is backed slightly out of the secure holster, the ejection port is exposed. The (13) gun slide is secure when placed fully into the holster the (14) rear sight is exposed and is not covered by the shroud. The (15) gun grip is clear of the zipper portion when the handgun is in the stowed position. The holster contains a (16) sight channel to clear the sights in the forward and backward motion. Number (17) and (18) are separate compartments for storage on either side of the secured carry panel. The (19) flap portion can be opened fully to view expose the (20) trigger housing detent, the (21) handgun grip with (22) being a respective ¼″ margin spacing between gun slide and holster (23) are the tension adjustment screws.
The (24) magazine is secured in the handgun and will not eject while in the holster. The (25) trigger and (26) housing are covered and covered and secure while in the holster housing but is easily accessible when the gun is backed out of the holster.

20. A separate panel enclosure with two looped zippers that meet together to adjoin, allowing a locking device for the purpose of securing (a) a kydex handgun holster, (b) affixed to a semi-rigid mounting plate, secured with rivets or screws, (c) the holster guide groove is spaced respectively with a margin at the front portion for receiving the handgun and front sight, so as to insert and remove the handgun without restriction, (d) the holster has a depressed or detent notched area to accommodate the trigger guard thus shielding the trigger, (e) with full exposure to the rear sight and gun handle/grip, (f) the holster does restrict the ejection port when fully stowed forward in the holster, (g) when the gun is backed out far enough to place a finger on the trigger the ejection port is not encumbered allowing the port to expel the shell casing.

21. The structure of claim 20, whereby the enclosure panel is opened and closed with two zippers with loops at the tip for the adjoining together with a locking device, with a key or combination, with the lock proportionate so that the user may easily insert and remove.

22. The structure of claim 20, wherein the holster is comprised of a synthetic thermoplastic rigid material, kydex which conforms to the shape of the handgun.

23. The structure of claim 20, wherein a rear wall of the body of the holster comprises an upwardly open slot to facilitate the insertion and withdrawal of the handgun.

24. The structure of claim 20, wherein contains a front wall of the body of the holster with a guide groove on the inside, running from top to bottom of the wall for receiving the front sights of the handgun.

25. The structure of claim 20, whereby contains a depressed area and/or notch designed to fit the handgun trigger guard, blocking access to the trigger, when in the stowed position.

26. The structure of claim 20, wherein the depressed/detent portion, firmly secures the handgun in place to prevent it from falling out of the holster.

27. The structure of claim 20, wherein a holster is secured to semi-rigid backing plate compromised of leather, kydex, canvas or other rigid forming materials.

28. The structure of claim 20, wherein the panel, is attached to the exterior or interior of a purse, soft computer bag, briefcase, tote and fanny pack, with the components compromised of: leather, canvas or other such materials to support the weight of a handgun.

29. The structure of claim 25, does secure the handgun when stowed, the handgun may be backed out enough to place the finger on the trigger and fire through the front open muzzle portion of the holster.

30. The structure of claim 21, wherein the panel enclosure zippers begin and end on the top and begin and end on the side, leaving the front of the panel unencumbered so that the handgun may be fired through the purse without restriction from the zipper.
