Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention generally relates to a decorative curtain tie.
  • More particularly, the present invention relates to a decorative curtain tie that allows the user to tie the curtain at a desired height, rather than pulling the curtain to the sides.
  • Tiebacks are normally placed around a curtain to arrange and hold the curtain towards the sides of a window of a room. Tying the curtain to the side of the window allows natural illumination of the room. Unfortunately, tying the curtains to the side of the windows also takes the curtain away from the center of the window, allowing people outside the room to see what is inside the room.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for a device that ties a curtain to allow the natural illumination of the room, but at the same time provides the homeowner with privacy.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a curtain tie device includes a plurality of decorative pieces linked together by connectors forming a chain, at least one fastener may be connected to the chain, and the fasteners attach to the curtain securing the curtain tie device in place.
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a curtain tie device includes a cord, a plurality of decorative pieces inserted through the cord forming a chain, at least one fastener connected to the chain, the fastener attaches to the curtain to secure the curtain tie device in place.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective front view of the decorative curtain tie device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention showing the decorative curtain tie in a working position;
  • FIG. 2 illustrates a front view of the decorative curtain tie device of FIG. 1; and
  • FIG. 3 illustrates a front view of the decorative curtain tie device according to another exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
  • Various inventive features are described below that can each be used independently of one another or in combination with other features.
  • Broadly, embodiments of the present invention generally provide a decorative curtain tie device that may be placed at the desired height on the curtain rather than pulling the curtain to the sides.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates a curtain tie device 10 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The curtain tie device 10 may include a plurality of decorative pieces 14 linked together by connectors 16 forming a chain.
  • The decorative pieces 14 may have the shape of rings, beads, figurines, holiday cars, trucks, boats, trains, airplanes, trees, flowers, stars, geometrical figures, holiday motives, beads, stones, gems, banners, butterflies, spheres, cylinders, rhombus, cubic, animals, fishes, birds, or combination thereof. The decorative pieces 14 may be made of plastic, metal, resin, composite, glass, ceramic, wood, paper, or combination thereof. In one embodiment, the decorative pieces may have the shape of rings. The size of the decorative pieces 14 may be determined by the user.
  • The connectors 16 may interconnect two adjacent decorative pieces 14. The material of the connectors 16 may depend on the material of the decorative pieces 14. In one embodiment, the material of the connectors 16 may be the same as the material of the decorative pieces 14. In one embodiment, the material of the connectors 16 may be different from the material of the decorative pieces 14. The connectors 16 may be of smaller size than the size of the decorative pieces 14.
  • The fasteners 20 may be any commercially available fastener that may grasp the curtain to prevent the curtain tie device 10 from falling down or moving from the predetermined position. In one embodiment, the fasteners 20 may be clips, clamps, pins, or clasps. Fasteners 20 may be positioned at any point through the length of the curtain tie device 10 to prevent the curtain 12 from moving. In one embodiment, a fastener 20 may be placed on each end of the curtain tie device 10. In one embodiment, a fastener 20 may be placed on the center of the curtain tie device 10. In some embodiments, the fasteners 20 may be alligator clips or small pliers.
  • FIG. 2 illustrates a front view of the curtain tie device 10. A standard chain 18 may be connected to at least one of the ends of the curtain tie device 10. The standard chain 18 may be placed facing the back of the curtain 12. The standard chain 18 may allow the user to connect both ends of the curtain tie device 10. In one embodiment, the fasteners 20 may be located on the standard chain 18. The fasteners 20 may clip into the curtain to prevent the curtain tie device 10 from falling down or moving.
  • FIG. 3 illustrates a decorative curtain tie device 22 according to another embodiment of the present invention. The decorative curtain tie device 22 may include a cord (not shown) having a plurality of decorative items 24 slideable on the cord (not shown). In one embodiment, the decorative items 24 may be pearls, beads, gems, or stones. The cord (not shown) may have a length long enough to wrap around the curtain 12. Fasteners 20 may be placed at any location along the length of the curtain tie device 22. The standard chain 18 may be connected to at least one of the ends of the curtain tie device 22.
  • At least one pendant 26 may be connected to the decorative pieces 14 or the decorative items 24. The pendant 26 may have a shape resembling rings, beads, figurines, holiday cars, trucks, boats, trains, airplanes, trees, flowers, stars, geometrical figures, holiday motives, beads, stones, gems, banners, butterflies, spheres, cylinders, rhombus, cubic, animals, fishes, birds, or combination thereof. In one embodiment, the pendant 26 may have the same pattern as the decorative device 14 or the decorative item 24.
  • The pendant 26 may be connected to the decorative pieces 14 or decorative items 24 by using a metal loop or string.
  • The user may place the curtain tie device 10 at a desired height on the curtain 12. The curtain tie device 10 may shape the curtain 12 like an hourglass clock providing a new look for the room.
  • The curtain tie device 10 may be used in combination canopy beds, blankets, comforters, throws, vertical blinds, shower curtains or fabric cloth room dividers.
  • The curtain device 10 may eliminate the need to make holes in the walls and trim around the windows.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
