Abstract
The present invention is an awesome abdominal exercise bench device with a multipurpose function to replace traditional flat benches. This device will help work and tone all parts of the body, while the abdominal muscles are in a stretched and elongated state, during all the exercises, it can aid with. This bench is an arched shape bench. The body is made up of 2 metal (steel) tubing's bent in an arch shape, and is connected with a welded metal meshwork, which is also in an arched shape of a somewhat of a semicircular shape. The whole bench is curved in a semi-lunar form, including the leg and the support system. This can withstand great body masses. The bench has leather surface padding, sized and built over the bench, to provide comfort, and no slipping during exercise.
This bench will not only allow a surface for superior abdominal exercises, but will also allow, for building and toning muscles for “body builders”. The exercise device will include an upright to allow for weight bars and free weights to be lifted and so forth.
This bench is multifaceted, and is distinguished from other workout bench's, by having a specifically guided with proper degree's bent in the device to allow for maximum results in an efficient manner.
Description
- This application is for non-provisional patent, after the provisional patent to the application filed on Jul. 6, 2010 with application No. 61/361,609.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates in general to an arched exercise bench. Because of its sturdiness, design and easy to use, it is ideal for targeting the core body work outs. The elevated platform, in the shape of an arch allows traditional core body workouts and abs targeted routinely to be done more effectively, using the natural incline and decline of the arch shape. This is achieved through rolling of metal tubes, the muscle fibers formation that are the rectus abdomus and obliques are exposed and built with minimal effort through the use of one own's body weight acting as the resistance. The traditional exercises of crunches are more efficient, because of the body positioning, that is only achieved because of the arch design that enables extraordinary exposure of these muscles, as the user is in prone position. The abs and core being elevated above the rest of the body cause the contraction of muscle as the user moves the legs or upper torso. In addition, to abs workouts, it can also be used for weight lifting (replace traditional flat or inclined benches).
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Exercise is both important and beneficial to the human body. Regular exercise, with a healthy diet, has shown to extend life, allows a positive feel good, and avoids many of the problems related to old age. Many exercise devices have been developed. Some provide good cardiovascular workout, and others offer resistance-type exercises. Some like this invention, not only isolates particular muscle groups such as abdominals, obliques, the core muscle groups and focus on exercising those groups in particular, but also add to overall wellness of the entire body.
- Many machines and devices have been developed to help target abdominal muscles and those that provide support for the back and spinal column. However, nothing in the prior art discloses or suggests the present invention. This firm arched fixture that curves with the body and allows for a one piece, allows for comfort, ease of use, improves motivation with increased results. The support for the body is phenomenal, and psychologically yields outstanding results.
- The present invention is an improved arched bench, for multipurpose function, with its main goal to increase the efficiency of the abdominal/core strength. The bench consists of an elevated platform, in the shape of an arch. The natural inclines and declines of the arch shape are achieved through the rolling of metal tubes connected with a welded metal meshwork, thus making it rigid, strong and firm. It can also be easily moved from different weight machine apparatus's or kept at a stationery place. The bench has a padded leather cushion, which can be assembled with logos, representing different institutions or personnel's. The padding obviously will be water or (sweat) resistant.
- The exercise devise, will also have an upright that can handle weight bars or bands, or other exercise aids.
- The main goal of the present invention is to provide an amazing arched bench for improved and increased efficiency of abs results.
- Second major goal of this invention is to minimize stress to the back of the user in the performance of sit-up type exercise or other similar exercises. Which will ultimately minimize force on the lower lumbar region of the back.
- Another object of the invention is to provide safety, while effectively strengthening the abdominal muscles and other interconnected muscle groups.
- Another goal of the present invention is not only the ease of use, but the ease of moving the equipment around. Either by itself or in connection with other devices that bench's of other form can be used. This can be used at home, gymnasiums, athletic clubs, schools, universities, prisons, etc.
- Another goal is to keep the bench, light and visible, so individual padding's with one's favorite football team, or the university alumni names or personnel names or designs of any choice can be placed.
- Another main goal is to provide upright's on the bench to allow for weight training and other forms resistance. This bench will be easy to manufacture and keep the costs down for everyone involved.
- All these and many other goals will provide for a more firm and fitter body, which will not only bring out a positive psychological effect, but also a healthier and a longer life.
