Abstract
A multi-cavity filter includes a main body and a lid body. The main body includes a bottom portion and a plurality of sidewalls extending from the bottom portion so as to cooperatively define a plurality of cavities each with a top opening. The lid body covers on the cavities of the main body and is snugly mounted on the main body by screws. The lid body defines a plurality of grooves to improve flexibility.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to a multi-cavity filter, and more particularly to a lid structure of the multi-cavity filter.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A lid structure of a multi-cavity filter is generally designed as a single lid. However, the multi-cavity filter has more than one cavity, and the single lid covers all the cavities. It is difficult to keep snug engagement between the lid portion and each cavity when the lid is relatively large. Therefore, the lid cannot snugly seal with all the cavities, which would influence the work performance of the multi-cavity filter.
- Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.
- Many aspects of the present exemplary embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present exemplary embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
-
FIG. 1 is a disassembled view of one exemplary embodiment of a multi-cavity filter in accordance with the present disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a configuration view of one exemplary embodiment of a lid body in accordance with the present disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a partially enlarged view of III inFIG. 2 . -
FIG. 4 is a configuration view of another exemplary embodiment of the lid body in accordance with the present disclosure. - The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” exemplary embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same exemplary embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , amulti-cavity filter 100 comprises amain body 20 and alid body 10. Themain body 20 comprises abottom portion 21 and a plurality ofsidewalls 22 extending from thebottom portion 21. Thebottom portion 21 and the plurality ofsidewalls 22 cooperatively define a plurality ofcavities 24 each having atop opening 25. Eachcavity 24 defines a pair of input/output ports 26 to connect with conductors (not shown) inside thecavity 24 for receiving and sending signals. Thelid body 10 covers on the plurality oftop openings 25 of themain body 20 and is snugly mounted on themain body 20 byscrews 15. Thelid body 10 defines a plurality ofgrooves 14 to improve flexibility. The plurality ofgrooves 14 divide thelid body 10 into a plurality oflid segments 12, and are opposite to thecorresponding sidewalls 22 to make the plurality oflid segments 12 correspond to the plurality ofcavities 24. - The
lid body 10 defines a plurality of threadedholes 16 along the plurality ofgrooves 14. Thelid body 10 is mounted on themain body 20 byscrews 15 passing through the plurality of threadedholes 16 and screwed in thecorresponding sidewalls 22. Eachlid segment 12 defines a plurality oftuning holes 18. Atuning screw 17 passes through thecorresponding tuning hole 18 to adjust resonance frequency for thecorresponding cavity 24 of themulti-cavity filter 100. - In the illustrated exemplary embodiment, the plurality of
grooves 14 pass across thelid body 10 and are in parallel with each other. - As the
lid body 10 defines the plurality ofgrooves 14 corresponding to thecavities 24 to improve flexibility and to reduce bending strength for thelid body 10, the plurality oflid segments 12 can snugly seal with themain body 20 even if the number of thecavities 24 is increased and the area oflid body 10 is increased as well. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , in the illustrated exemplary embodiment, cross-section of thegroove 14 is substantially shaped as square. For example, if the depth of thegroove 14 is A, the thickness of thelid segment 12 is C, the thickness of thelid body 10 is B at thegroove 14, that is, C−A=B. Particularly, if A is 3 mm and C is 5 mm, B is 2 mm. Thelid body 10 has elasticity in the areas of eachgroove 14 to ensure thelid segments 12 can snugly engage with theirrespective cavities 24, to improve reliability of thelid body 10. In other words, themulti-cavity filter 100 can work stably by controlling the snug engagement between thelid segments 12 and the plurality ofcavities 24. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , thelid body 30 has similar structure and functions with thelid body 10 in the first exemplary embodiment to obtain similar purpose. However, thelid body 30 and thelid body 10 differ in terms as below. Thelid body 30 defines a plurality offirst grooves 34 in parallel with each other and asecond groove 36 perpendicularly communicating with each of the plurality offirst grooves 34. The plurality offirst grooves 34 and thesecond groove 36 cooperatively divides thelid body 30 into a plurality oflid segments 32 corresponding to cavities of themulti-cavity filter 100.
