Abstract
A compressor pump for a sprayer comprises a pump, a piston and a connecting rod. The pump comprises a containment space, an opening formed at a bottom thereof and a plurality of through holes connected to the containment space at an upper portion thereof. The piston is disposed through the opening of the pump in the containment space, and the piston has a plurality of oil slots formed around an outer periphery, a sealing ring and an O ring jacketed onto the outer periphery, and an assembling portion with an internal thread formed inside of the piston. The elongated connecting rod has a connecting portion at each end respectively pivoted to a connecting member and a crank via respective axis hitches, such that the connecting member and the crank are capable of performing reciprocating (biased) movements at two ends of the connecting rod.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a compressor pump for a sprayer, and more particularly to a compressor pump for a sprayer which has lower assembly costs and increased assembly convenience and safety features.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Currently, a compressor pump for a sprayer, with reference to
FIGS. 6 and 7 , comprises apump 50, apiston 60 and aconnecting rod 70. Acontainment space 51 is formed within thepump 50, and aslot 52 is axially formed at a bottom edge thereof. Thepiston 60 is disposed in thepump 50; thepiston 60 internally has an assemblingportion 61, and the assemblingportion 61 has twosecuring columns 611 at two sides. The sidewalls of thepiston 60 facing thesecuring columns 611 have respective throughapertures 62. The connectingrod 70 is composed of two interlockedengaging members 71, and each end of theengaging members 71 respectively includes afastening portion 711. One end of the connectingrod 70 is attached onto thecrank 72, and another end is attached onto the assemblingportion 61 of thepiston 60. When the connectingrod 70 is coupled to thepiston 60, one side of the connectingrod 70 is fastened to thecrank 72, and another side is placed in thepiston 60 and adjacent to thesecuring columns 611 of the assemblingportion 61. With a suitable tool being inserted through thethrough aperture 62 of thepiston 60, theengaging member 71 utilizes thefastening portion 711 to secure onto thesecuring columns 611 of the assemblingportion 61. - For actual operations, please refer to
FIGS. 8 and 9 . Thecrank 72 connected to the connectingrod 70 at one end is connected to an activatingmember 73 at another end. Movement generated by the activatingmember 73 achieves pressure compression effects. When the activatingmember 73 is rotated, thecrank 72 is driven to pass through the slot of thepump 50 and pushes the connectingrod 70 to cause thepiston 60 to generate repeated strokes within thepump 50. - However, the prior art has the following drawbacks: 1. When the
piston 60 is driven by the connectingrod 70, the connectingrod 70 needs to pass through theslot 52 of thepump 50 to enter into thecontainment space 51. Therefore, during repeated movements, the connectingrod 70 and thecrank 72 tend to hit thepiston 60, and thepiston 60 is then inclined and damages the inner sidewall of thecontainment space 51 of thepump 50 which can cause leakage. 2. Thecrank 72 of the connectingrod 70 is engaged with one end of the twoengaging members 71, and then another end of theengaging member 71 is assembled with the assemblingportion 61 of thepiston 60. Theengaging member 71 needs to be placed in thepiston 60, adjacent to thesecuring column 611 of the assemblingportion 61, and a suitable tool inserted through thethrough aperture 62 to be secured, which is inconvenient. Moreover, with thethrough aperture 62, while thepiston 60 is moving in thepump 50, lubrication oil can leak from thethrough aperture 62. - Therefore, it is desirable to provide a compressor pump for a sprayer to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- An objective of the present invention is to provide a compressor pump for a sprayer
- In order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives, a compressor pump for a sprayer comprises a pump, a piston and a connecting rod. The pump comprises a containment space, an opening formed at a bottom thereof and a plurality of through holes connected to the containment space at an upper portion thereof. The piston is disposed through the opening of the pump in the containment space, and the piston has a plurality of oil slots formed around an outer periphery, a sealing ring and an O ring jacketed onto the outer periphery, and an assembling portion with an internal thread formed inside of the piston. The elongated connecting rod has a connecting portion at each end respectively pivoted to a connecting member and a crank via respective axis hitches, such that the connecting member and the crank are capable of performing reciprocating (biased) movements at two ends of the connecting rod. Furthermore, a connecting end with an external thread corresponding to the assembling portion with the internal thread of the piston is formed at another end of the connecting member, and another end of the crank is pivoted to an activating member. The connecting member and the crank are respectively pivoted on the two ends of the connecting rod, and the connecting end at another end of the connecting member is assembled onto the assembling portion of the piston to connect the connecting rod to the piston. The piston is disposed in the containment space of the pump. The pump is installed in a sprayer, and the through holes are connected to an internal storage space.
- With the above-mentioned embodiment structure the following benefits can be obtained: 1. The connecting rod of the piston is an elongated rod, and when the user operates the activating member, the rotation angle of the movements of the connecting rod is smaller, which generates substantial vertical movements, thus preventing the connecting rod from hitting against the piston, improving the stroke of the piston and creating more smooth movements. Furthermore, the piston is also prevented from shaking and rubbing against the inner sidewall of the containment space, which otherwise leads to cracking. 2. The connecting rod has the connecting member at one end attached to the piston, and the connecting end of the connecting member is screwed onto the assembling portion of the piston to simplify the assembly between the piston and the connecting rod.
- Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 , 2 and 3. A compressor pump for a sprayer comprises apump 10, apiston 20 and a connectingrod 30. Thepump 10 comprises acontainment space 11, anopening 12 formed at a bottom thereof and a plurality of throughholes 13 connected to thecontainment space 11 at an upper portion thereof. Thepiston 20 is disposed through the opening 12 of thepump 10 in thecontainment space 11, and thepiston 20 has a plurality ofoil slots 21 formed around an outer periphery, asealing ring 22 and anO ring 23 jacketed onto the outer periphery, and an assemblingportion 24 with an internal thread formed inside of thepiston 20. The elongated connectingrod 30 has a connectingportion 31 at each end respectively pivoted to a connectingmember 33 and acrank 34 viarespective axis hitches 32, such that the connectingmember 33 and thecrank 34 are capable of performing reciprocating (biased) movements at two ends of the connectingrod 30. Furthermore, a connectingend 331 with an external thread corresponding to the assemblingportion 24 with the internal thread of thepiston 20 is formed at another end of the connectingmember 33, and another end of thecrank 34 is pivoted to an activatingmember 35. - For a complete assembly, please refer again to
FIGS. 2 and 3 . The connectingmember 33 and thecrank 34 are respectively pivoted on the two ends of the connectingrod 30, and the connectingend 331 at another end of the connectingmember 33 is assembled onto the assemblingportion 24 of thepiston 20 to connect the connectingrod 30 to thepiston 20. Thepiston 20 is disposed in thecontainment space 11 of thepump 10. Thepump 10 is installed in asprayer 40, and the throughholes 13 are connected to aninternal storage space 41, as shown inFIG. 5 . - For actual operation, please refer to
FIGS. 3 , 4, and 5. To operate thesprayer 40, fluid is compressed within thestorage space 41, and then spraying of the fluid spray is performed by release of this pressure. In order to compress the fluid, the activatingmember 35 extending from a side of the sprayer is rotated to drive thecrank 34 to move the connectingrod 30 up and down, such that thepiston 20 is driven by the connectingrod 30 to slide up and down in thecontainment space 11 of thepump 10 to continuously bring the fluid into thestorage space 41 through the throughholes 13 of thepump 10 and thereby increase the pressure maintained in thestorage space 41 for spraying purposes. - With the above-mentioned embodiment structure the following benefits can be obtained: 1. The connecting
rod 30 of thepiston 20 is an elongated rod, and when the user operates the activatingmember 35, the rotation angle of the movements of the connectingrod 30 is smaller, which generates substantial vertical movements, thus preventing the connectingrod 30 from hitting against thepiston 20, improving the stroke of thepiston 20 and creating more smooth movements. Furthermore, thepiston 20 is also prevented from shaking and rubbing against the inner sidewall of thecontainment space 11, which otherwise leads to cracking. 2. The connectingrod 30 has the connectingmember 33 at one end attached to thepiston 20, and the connectingend 331 of the connectingmember 33 is screwed onto the assemblingportion 24 of thepiston 20 to simplify the assembly between thepiston 20 and the connectingrod 30. - Although the present invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (1)
1. A compressor pump for a sprayer comprising:
a pump comprising a containment space, an opening formed at a bottom thereof and a plurality of through holes connected to the containment space at an upper portion thereof;
a piston disposed through the opening of the pump in the containment space, the piston having a plurality of oil slots formed around an outer periphery, a sealing ring and an O ring jacketed onto the outer periphery, and an assembling portion with an internal thread formed inside of the piston; and
an elongated connecting rod having a connecting portion at each end respectively pivoted to a connecting member and a crank via an axis hitch; a connecting end with an external thread corresponding to the assembling portion with the internal thread of the piston formed at another end of the connecting member; and another end of the crank pivoted to an activating member.
