Abstract

A fixture for room ceiling corners includes a main body having three sides; a first anchoring flap on a first side of the main body, adapted to attach to the first wall of the room; a second anchoring flap on a second side of the main body, adapted to attach to the second wall of the room; a third anchoring flap on a third side of the main body, adapted to attach to the third wall of the room. The main body provides a plane that covers the corner of the room, which may include a graphic or a mirror.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to room fixtures, and more specifically, to a fixture for room ceiling corners.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a fixture for a box-like structure includes a main body having three sides; a first anchoring flap on a first side of the main body, adapted to attach to a first wall of the structure; a second anchoring flap on a second side of the main body, adapted to attach to a second wall of the structure; and a third anchoring flap on a third side of the main body, adapted to attach to a third wall of the structure.
In another aspect of the present invention, a fixture for a room having three walls that form a corner includes a main body having three sides; a first anchoring flap on a first side of the main body, adapted to attach to the first wall of the room; a second anchoring flap on a second side of the main body, adapted to attach to the second wall of the room; a third anchoring flap on a third side of the main body, adapted to attach to the third wall of the room; wherein the main body provides a fourth plane that covers the corner of the room.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Various inventive features are described below that can each be used independently of one another or in combination with other features.
Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention generally provides a room fixture for displaying images, graphics, advertising, copy, color(s), or mirrors in room ceiling corners.
An embodiment may provide a triangular room fixture that sets up in the corner of a room where two adjacent walls and the ceiling meet. An embodiment may enable the consumer to transform the look of room corners by use of a triangular fixture that can display various images, graphics, advertising, copy, colors, and/or mirrors. Embodiments may be set up and used in under one minute and may be used either as a temporary or a permanent fixture.
In an embodiment, with the device lying flat, three panels on each of the three sides of the triangle may be folded back and underneath the triangle's surface.
Double back foam sticky tape may be used on each side panel, and the triangle may be pushed into a room corner until the double back sticky tape adheres to the room corner planes and the triangle panels. The room fixture may also be adhered using tape, glue, nails, tacks, screws, wax, Velcro® or other hooks-and-loops, friction, etc.
The components of an embodiment of a room fixture may include a main body having a triangular shape, its side panels designed to fit into the corner planes underneath the triangular display plane of the main body, three scores that allow the side panels to be folded back, and the means of fixing to a room corner, which can include double back sticky tape, tape, glue, Velcro® or other hooks-and-loops, nails, tacks, screws, wax, friction, etc. Another component may include the front display, which may include images, graphics, advertising, copy, colors, and mirrors, which may be fixed in place by the components. Embodiments may be used to keep cob webs from forming in room corners.
An embodiment may include a room fixture for displaying images, graphics, advertising, copy, color(s), and mirrors in room ceiling corners. A fixture may be adhered to a room corner (ceiling plane and two adjacent wall planes) to create a fourth plane that covers up the actual corner. The room fixture may then be able to display images, graphics, advertising, copy, color(s), and mirrors in room corners.
As depicted in the embodiment of FIG. 1, a fixture 10 for a room or other box-like structure may include a main body 12, with graphics/images on the main body 12, and anchoring flaps 14, 16, and 18 on the sides of the main body 12 to be folded back and attached to a wall 26 or 28, a floor 24, or a ceiling 30 via an adhesive 20. Adhesive 20 may be used to attach anchoring flaps 14, 16, 18 to the wall/floor/ ceiling 26, 28, 24, 30. Scores 22 may allow the anchoring flaps 14, 16, 18 to be folded back.
FIG. 1 depicts an embodiment of the present invention placed into a room, one fixture 10 positioned where the walls and ceiling meet, a second fixture 10 positioned where walls and floor meets. FIG. 2 depicts a different angle of FIG. 1, showing what the ceiling device looks like when viewed from within the room. FIG. 3 depicts a different angle of FIG. 1, showing what the floor device looks like when viewed from within the room. FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of the device 10 before installation. FIG. 5 shows an embodiment of the device after installation, placed in the corner formed where the floor 16 and the wall 18 meet.
In an embodiment, a triangular room fixture may include a piece of material that sets up in a room with one side of the triangle running along the ceiling plane from one wall to another adjacent wall. A second side of the triangular room fixture may run along a wall plane from where the ceiling and wall meet to where the wall and another adjacent wall meet. The third side of the triangular room fixture may provide an additional plane that runs from where the wall and another adjacent wall meet to where the wall and the ceiling meet. Once the triangular room fixture is in place, the device may be placed in an area where the ceiling and room fixture are protruding out in front of the room's corner. Embodiments of side panels or flanges may be fabricated into the triangular room fixture by means of die cutting, molding, and/or by hand.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A fixture for a box-like structure, comprising:

a main body having three sides;

a first anchoring flap on a first side of the main body, adapted to attach to a first wall of the structure;

a second anchoring flap on a second side of the main body, adapted to attach to a second wall of the structure; and

a third anchoring flap on a third side of the main body, adapted to attach to a third wall of the structure.

2. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the main body provides a plane.

3. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the main body covers a corner of the box-like structure.

4. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the box-like structure is a room.

5. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the first wall is a first wall of a room, the second wall is a second wall of a room, and the third wall is a ceiling of the room, the first wall of the room, the second wall of the room, and the ceiling of the room coming together so as to form a corner.

6. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the first wall is a first wall of a room, the second wall is a second wall of a room, and the third wall is a floor of the room, the first wall of the room, the second wall of the room, and the floor of the room coming together so as to form a corner.

7. The fixture of claim 1, wherein the main body is further adapted to display a graphic image.

8. The fixture of claim 1, further comprising:

a mirror on the main body.

9. The fixture of claim 1, further comprising:

an adhesive to attach the anchoring flaps to the walls.

10. A fixture for a room having three walls that form a corner, the fixture comprising:

a main body having three sides;

a first anchoring flap on a first side of the main body, adapted to attach to the first wall of the room;

a second anchoring flap on a second side of the main body, adapted to attach to the second wall of the room;

a third anchoring flap on a third side of the main body, adapted to attach to the third wall of the room;

wherein the main body provides a plane that covers the corner of the room.
