Abstract
A package for an article is provided. The package comprises a housing and a board. The housing is used for receiving the article. The housing comprises a first portion, a second portion and a protrusion. The first portion and the second portion are assembled together to receive the article therein, and the protrusion is fastened to the first portion. The board is fastened with the protrusion. Thereby, the second portion is free from the board, the first portion and the second portion can be unlocked by a consumer to access the article, the housing detached from the board is reusable, and the board can be decorated.

- This is a non-provisional application claiming the benefit of priority based on the Provisional Application No. 61/349,174 filed on May 27, 2010.

- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a package, in particular to a package for an article for sale.
- 2. Descriptions of the Related Art
- The package for articles for sale is very important in business, which has very important influence on the aspiration of a consumer to buy the articles. Therefore, most of the sellers place great importance on the designs of the packages for the articles for sale.
- One
conventional package 1 for the article for sale is illustrated inFIGS. 1A to 1D . Thepackage 1 comprises ahousing 11 and aboard 13. Thehousing 11 comprises afirst portion 111 and asecond portion 112, and thefirst portion 111 and thesecond portion 112 are assembled to form a receiving space to receive the article therein for sale. The two 13 a, 13 b are folded to clamp the flange of thesub boards first portion 111 and the flange of thesecond portion 112 to permanently fasten thefirst portion 111 and thesecond portion 112 together. Each of the 13 a, 13 b further comprises a throughsub boards hole 113 to expose thefirst portion 111 and thesecond portion 112 after thefirst portion 111 and thesecond portion 112 are clamped by the 13 a, 13 b. Then, thesub boards 13 a, 13 b are permanently fastened together. Thesub boards housing 11 is transparent to show the article packaged therein. Theboard 13 is decorated with descriptions for the article and patterns to attract the consumer to buy the article therein. However, the consumer can not access the article by hand without damage to theboard 13 or even thehousing 11 before buying the article. After the consumer damage thepackage 1 for using the article bought, the whole damaged package will become trash. Moreover, the housing is not reusable for the user to preserve the article therein. - Another
conventional package 2 for the article for sale which is reusable is illustrated inFIGS. 2A to 2D . Theconventional package 2 comprises acover 211 and ahousing 212 assembled with each other to receiving the article for sale therein. Thecover 211 can be detached from thehousing 212, such that the article for sale is accessible to the consumer by hand without damaging thepackage 2 before buying the article. However, thepackage 2 does not have sufficient area for printing the descriptions and patterns for the article for sale. Even worse, thecover 211 of theconventional package 2 is opaque usually. It makes thepackage 2 harder to display the article for sale. - It is desired in the field to provide a package for the article for sale which overcomes the abovementioned problems of the conventional packages.
- The primary objective of this invention is to provide a package that a consumer can access an article packaged therein by hand without damage to the package while the package can have sufficient area to be decorated.
- Another objective of this invention is to provide a package that has a reusable housing for preserving an article while the package can have sufficient area to be decorated.
- To the end, a package for an article is provided. The package comprises a housing and a board. The housing is used for receiving the article therein. The housing comprises a first portion, a second portion and a protrusion. The first portion and the second portion are assembled together to receive the article therein, and the protrusion is fastened to the first portion and the board. Thereby, the second portion is free from the board, the first portion and the second portion can be unlocked by a consumer to access the article by hand, the housing detached from the board is reusable, and the board can be decorated.
- The detailed technology and preferred embodiments implemented for the subject invention are described in the following paragraphs accompanying the appended drawings for people skilled in this field to well appreciate the features of the claimed invention.

FIGS. 3A to 3D , the package for an article of this invention is illustrated. Thepackage 3 comprises atransparent housing 31 and aboard 33. Thehousing 31 is used for receiving the article. Thehousing 31 comprises afirst portion 311, asecond portion 312 and at least aprotrusion 313. Therein, thefirst portion 311 is a box having a space for receiving the article and thesecond portion 312 is a cover. InFIGS. 3A to 3D , thehousing 31 comprises a plurality of theprotrusions 313. The article for sale is adapted to be received within thehousing 31 between thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312, and theprotrusion 313 is fastened to thefirst portion 311 and further to theboard 33. That is thefirst portion 311 is fastened with theboard 33 by use of theprotrusion 313. Thesecond portion 312 is free from theboard 33 and is not permanently fastened with theboard 33. Thereby, thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 can be unlocked by a consumer to access the article by hand without damage to theboard 33, and theboard 33 can be decorated with descriptions for the article and patterns to attract the customer to buy the article by use of thepackage 3 of this invention. - In the example illustrated in
FIGS. 3A to 3D , theboard 33 comprises two 33 a, 33 b, and thesub boards protrusions 313 are tabs to be clamped between the two folded 33 a, 33 b to fasten thesub boards first portion 311 to theboard 33. Moreover, each of the 33 a, 33 b may has a throughsub boards hole 33 c for receiving thehousing 31. In other examples, theprotrusions 313 may be simply glued, stapled, riveted, welded or fastened by other means to theboard 33. - Further, in this example, the
first portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 are formed integrally and rotatable with respect to each other, and thehousing 31 further comprises at least alock 314 to temporarily lock thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 together. In this embodiment, thehousing 31 comprises two thelocks 314. Therein, in reference toFIGS. 3C and 4C , each of thelocks 314 comprises a first snap-fitting portion 314 a and a second snap-fitting portion 314 b, and the first snap-fitting portion 314 a and the second snap-fitting portion 314 b are integrally formed on thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 respectively. The first snap-fitting portion 314 a and the second snap-fitting portion 314 b are for locking with each other to temporarily lock thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 together. - Moreover, as shown in
FIGS. 4A to 4C , theboard 33 may comprise at least one throughhole 33 d to expose the at least onelock 314 for the user to access thelocks 314 and unlock thelocks 314 easily. In this embodiment, theboard 33 comprises two the throughholes 33 d to expose the twolocks 314 respectively for the user to access thelocks 314. In further detail, in reference toFIGS. 3A and 3B , each of the 33 a, 33 b comprises twosub boards sub holes 33 e. The twosub holes 33 e formed on thesub board 33 a are assembled with the twosub holes 33 e formed on thesub board 33 b into the two throughholes 33 d when the 33 a, 33 b are assembled into thesub boards board 33. Thereby, the user may unlock thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 to access and observe the article by hand easily and then decide to buy the article or not. - In the
package 3 of this invention, not only thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 can be unlocked by the consumer to access and observe the article for sale by hand, but also theboard 33 has sufficient area to be decorated with descriptions for the article and patterns to attract the consumer to buy the article packaged by thepackage 3 of this invention. Further, when the consumer detaches thehousing 31 from theboard 33 by cutting theprotrusions 313 or other means, thehousing 31 changes to a reusable housing for preserve the article therein. Therefore, thehousing 31 of thepackage 3 of this invention is also very friendly to the environment. For the ease of printing descriptions for the article and patterns to theboard 33, theboard 33 is a paper board preferably in this example. In addition, the article for sale packaged by thepackage 3 of this invention as shown inFIGS. 4B and 4C maybe a diving mask, a pair of swimming goggles, a pair of sun glasses, a pair of safety glasses, a pair of reading glasses or a ski mask. - Please refer to
FIGS. 5A to 5D , theprotrusions 313 of this invention may be fastened to thefirst portion 311 by various means. As shown inFIG. 5A , thehousing 31 may contain a plurality of theprotrusions 313 of small pieces of tabs and theseprotrusions 313 are formed integrally with thefirst portion 311 into one piece. As shown inFIG. 5B , thehousing 31 may contain only one theprotrusion 313 of larger flange formed integrally with thefirst portion 311 into one piece. As shown inFIG. 5C , theprotrusions 313 may be glued or snap-fitted to thefirst portion 311. As shown inFIG. 5D , theprotrusions 313 may be assembled to thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312 with aloop 315 for enclosing thefirst portion 311 and thesecond portion 312. - The
package 3 of this invention comprises areusable housing 31, which can be unlock by the consumer to access the article for sale by hand, meanwhile, the board has sufficient area to be decorated. Thereby, thepackage 3 of this invention is very convenient and attractive to the consumer, and is also very friendly to environment. Thepackage 3 of this invention overcomes the shortcoming of that the articles for sale in the conventional packages are not accessible to the consumer by hand or that the conventional packages do not have sufficient area for printing the descriptions and patterns for the articles for sale. - The above disclosure is related to the detailed technical contents and inventive features thereof. People skilled in this field may proceed with a variety of modifications and replacements based on the disclosures and suggestions of the invention as described without departing from the characteristics thereof. Nevertheless, although such modifications and replacements are not fully disclosed in the above descriptions, they have substantially been covered in the following claims as appended.
Claims (15)
1. A package for an article, comprising:
a housing for receiving the article, in which the housing comprises a first portion, a second portion and a protrusion, the article is adapted to be received within the housing between the first portion and the second portion, and the protrusion is fastened to the first portion; and
a board fastened with the protrusion;
wherein the second portion is free from the board, and the first portion and the second portion can be unlocked for a consumer to access the article.
2. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the housing further comprises a lock to temporarily lock the first portion and the second portion together.
3. The package as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the board comprises a through hole to expose the lock for the user to access the lock.
4. The package as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the lock comprises a first snap-fitting portion and a second snap-fitting portion formed on the first portion and the second portion respectively, and the first snap-fitting portion and the second snap-fitting portion are for locking with each other to temporarily lock the first portion and the second portion together.
5. The package as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the board comprises two sub boards to clamp the protrusion therebetween.
6. The package as claimed in claim 5 , wherein each of the sub boards comprises a sub hole, and the sub holes are assembled with each other into a through hole to expose the lock for the user to access the lock.
7. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the board is decorated with descriptions for the article and patterns.
8. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the protrusion is a tab.
9. The package as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the housing comprises a plurality of the tabs.
10. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the protrusion is integrally formed with the first portion into one piece, glued to the first portion, snap-fitted to the first portion or assembled to the first portion with a loop.
11. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the protrusion is glued, stapled, riveted or welded to the board.
12. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the first portion and the second portion are formed integrally and rotatable with respect to each other.
13. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the article is a diving mask, a pair of swimming goggles, a pair of sun glasses, a pair of safety glasses, a pair of reading glasses, or a ski mask.
14. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the board is a paper board.
15. The package as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the housing is transparent.
