Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Technical Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to bag for collecting materials to be recycled and more particularly, to a recycling bag, which is collapsible.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • A regular carrying bag generally comprises a bag body for holding things and two flat lugs disposed at two sides relative to the top open side of the bag body for use as handle means for carrying by the user.
  • Further, in the modern society, people do care about environmental protection issues. Recycling used materials to prevent waste of potentially useful materials has become a common understanding among people. Recycling vehicles and/or containers are commonly seen in public places to collect different used materials. These recycling vehicles and/or containers are marked with different signs or words for collecting used materials that are classified. However, due to limited house space, it is not practical to set many classified recycling containers for collecting different used materials.
  • Therefore, it is desirable to provide simple, inexpensive, collapsible recycling bags for home use.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a recycling bag, which is collapsible, saving much storage space when not in use. It is another object of the present invention to provide a recycling bag, which is practical for home use.
  • To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, a recycling bag comprises a collapsible bag body having two cover flaps at the top side, and two magnetic rings respectively mounted in the cover flaps for securing the two cover flaps together by means of magnetic attraction. The bag body can be extended out for collecting used materials. The over flaps can be covered on the top open side of the bag body and secured together by the magnetic rings, holding the bag body in the extended operative condition for collecting used materials.
  • Further, each cover flap has a hand hole so that the cover flaps can be used as carrying handles when the bag body is collapsed. The magnetic rings are respectively affixed to the periphery of the hand hole of each of the two cover flaps. When the two cover flaps are closed on the top open side of the bag body, the cover flaps support the bag body in the extended operative condition, and the user can throw used materials through the hand hole on each of the two cover flaps into the inside of the bag body. When not in use, the bag body is flattened, and the two cover flaps are secured together by the magnetic rings to hold the bag in the collapsed non-operative condition.
  • Further, the bag body can be designed in any of a variety of shapes that attract people's eyes.
  • The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
  • Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a recycling bag in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1˜4, a recycling bag in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising a bag body 1 and two cover flaps 11 bilaterally extended from the topmost edge of the bag body 1 around the top open side thereof. Each cover flap 11 has a hand hole 12. Further, two magnetic rings 2 that are magnetically attractable to each other are respectively fastened to the hand holes 12 of the cover flaps 11. The bag body 1 is prepared from a tough sheet material. Further, the bag body 1 may be provided with a lining layer that supports the bag body 1 in shape.
  • The bag body 1 may be designed in any of a variety of shapes that attract consumers' eyes. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the bag body 1 is shaped like oval barrel. Further, the cover flaps 11 is configured subject to the shape of the top open side of the bag body 1 as the bag body 1 is held in the operative open status. As illustrated, the two magnetic rings 2 are respectively affixed to the periphery of the hand hole 12 of each of the two cover flaps 11 that extend from the topmost edge around the top open side of the bag body 1. The two magnetic rings 2 are magnetically reversely arranged relative to each other so that the two magnetic rings 2 can be attracted together by means of magnetic attraction.
  • During application, the bag body 1 is stretched into shape, and then turn one of the cover flaps 11 downwardly inwards from vertical to horizontal (see FIG. 3), and then turn the other cover flap 11 downwardly inwards from vertical to horizontal to have the two magnetic rings 2 be secured together by means of magnetic attraction (see FIG. 4). Thus, the recycling bag is set in the operative form (see FIG. 2) for collecting items to be recycled. When not in use, turn the two cover flaps 11 outwards from the top open side of the bag body 1 and then flatten the bag body 1, enabling the two cover flaps 11 to be secured together by the magnetic rings 2 to keep the bag body 1 in the flattened condition, i.e., the collapsed non-operative condition (see FIG. 5). Through the hand holes 12 of the cover flaps 11, the user can carry the collapsed form of the recycling bag by hand conveniently.
  • FIGS. 6˜8 show a recycling bag in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. According to this second embodiment, the recycling bag comprises a collapsible rectangular bag body 1 and two rectangular cover flaps 11 respectively extended from the topmost edge of the rectangular bag body 1 at two opposite sides relative to the top open side of the bag body. Each cover flap 11 has a circular hand hole 12 and a magnetic ring 2 fixedly fastened to the periphery of the circular hand hole 12. The magnetic rings 2 of the cover flaps 11 are attractable to each other by means of magnetic attraction. Thus, the recycling bag can be arranged between the extended operative condition (see FIG. 7) and the collapsed non-operative condition (see FIG. 8).
  • It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
  • While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
