The window frame 22 is inserted in the angle bars I9. This window frame has, for example, an S-shaped section and on inserting is pushed with one longitudinal edge according to the position shown in broken lines in Fig. 7 over rivet heads 23 projecting further forward on the window aperture and then deflected into this, whereupon from the front edge of the door screws 24 with bolt-like extensions 25 are screwed in front of the cross bar of the window frame located on this side of the window aperture, which without anything else hold all the parts in the position of use without any means of fastening being visible, and all the abutting edges on the window aperture being covered in the manner of a frame. Instead of the S-shaped section, a different suitable profile may be used. Y
The fixing of the door handle 23 takes place according to Fig. 8 by conical members 2l being inserted in conical holes or recesses 28 of an intermediate part or section 29 and being fixed by screws 30 which engage from the outer edge of Ythe door by means of a bolt-like conical part 3| in a transverse hole 32 of the piece 2. The slide guide bars 33 on the faces of the door are inserted by pins 34 in the manner of a bayonet joint in holes 35 covered by the bars 33, and after pushing in the longitudinal direction are fixed by a screw 36 inserted from the edge of the door and which bears with a projection 31 against overlapping inwardly directed lugs 38 of the bars 35. The upper and lower edges of the door are closed by U-shaped bars or channel members 39, 40 which also form a gauge for the parts I and 2 of the door to be clamped therein, and which are clamped round by the U-shaped bar cross pieces. There are provided as shown in particular by Figs. 12 to 14, at the upper corners of the door insets 4| which by means of a projection 42 and rivets 43, are xed on the U bars 39,40 and by a rivet 44 on the longitudinal side of the door. The door lock can be fixed in one or more recesses 45 of the part 4| or the carrier lugs 46 can also be fixed by screws 41, 48. The corners of the doorv are extraordinarily strenghtened by the said insets together with the rivets and screws. the locks on the door, the result is attained that the protecting edges 2l) can be carried straight through up to the top edge of the door so that they run uninterruptedly up to the lower edge 49 of the door frame.

This is bent into a number of corrugations and the cross bars of the fillet 29 are held and clamped by the pocket-like parts 53 of the holders 52. According to Figs. 17-19, the two U-shaped bars 57, 58, are riveted together and projections 59 of the parts and 2 of the door pass through slots of the bar 51 on which they are bent over in the form of a clamp. The xing of the bar 6| takes place by means of a metal llet 62 which, for example, is fitted at the bottom into a strong hook 33 and is fixed at the top by a screw or the like. It then bears under pressure against the bottom 64 of the protecting edge 63. After loosening the screw or the like, the unit formed by 6B, 62 can easily be removed from the edge of the door.
According to Fig. 20, the rubber llet or the like 35 is formed at the back into an enclosed hollow body or chamber 66 which is filled with compressed air, it being clamped behind projections 6l on the section bar 68 of the door.
I claim: v
l. A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, inwardly projecting overlapping flanges at the outer edges of said plates provided with a plurality of registering holes and spanning the space between said plates to close the same, an outer member located in surface engagement with said flanges on the outside and provided with holes in registry with those of said flanges, an independent inner flat bar located in the closed space between said plates in surface engagement with said anges on the inside, and a plurality of rivets xed upon and carried by said inner bar previous to its incorporation in said door and extending from said inner bar outwardly through the holes of said flanges and outer member whereby said metal plates are secured together.
2. A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, and provided with window apertures, inwardly projecting overlapping flanges at the outer edges of said plates provided with a plurality of registering holes, flanges on said plates at said window opening projecting toward each other and provided with a plurality of holes said flanges spanning the space between said plates to close the same, outer members located in surface engagement with said flanges on the outside and provided with holes in registry with the holes of said flanges, independent inner flat bars located in the closed space between said plates in surface engagement with said iianges on the inside, and a plurality of rivets xed upon and carried by each of said inner flat bars previous to theirl incorporation in said door, said rivets projecting from said independent inner bars outwardly through the holes of said flanges and outer members whereby said metal plates are secured together.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, inwardly directed flanges on said plates for spacing the same apart, a channelled outside member extending lengthwise of the outer Vertical edge of said door in surface engagement with said anges, fastening means extending through said flanges and channelled member whereby said plates and said channelled are secured together, and a resilient protecting member extending lengthwise of said outer vertical edgeof the 'door secured in said channelled member. y A
4. vAV metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in .spaced surface parallelism, inwardly directed flanges on said plates for spacing the same apart, a channelled outside member extending lengthwise ,of the outer vertical edge of said door in surface engagement withsaid fianges, fastening means extending through said flanges and channelled member whereby said plates and said channelled member are secured together, a resilient. protecting member extending lengthwise of said outer Vertical edge of the door, a recessed member near the lower end of said channelled member, a co-operating member on said resilient member adapted to fit into said recessed member for fixing said resilient member in place at its lower end, and aV removable screw for fixing said resilient member in place at its upper end.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, and provided with window apertures, inwardly di rected flanges at the outer edges of said plates and at said window opening for spacing said plates apart, fastening means co-operating with said flanges for securing said plates together, a channelled window frame in said window opening, inwardly extending projections at one side of said window opening projecting into the channel of said window frame, and screws having heads accessible at an edge of the door and extending inwardly of said window opening into the channel of said window frame in opposed relation to said projections whereby said window frame is removably fixed in said window opening.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, an intermediate section located between said plates and providedV with tapered recesses, a door handle, tapered members carried by said door handle and fitting into said tapered recesses for mounting said handle on the door and screws extending from an edge of the door through said intermediate section and tapered members for fixing said handle in place.
7, A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, said plates being provided with slots of. keyhole shape and with apertures, means for securing said plates together, slide guide bars located on opposite faces of said door, headed pins on said bars adapted to fit into said slots for mounting said slide guide bars on said door over said slots, inwardly directed lugs on said bars projecting through said apertures into overlapping engagement between said plates, and a screw extending from an edge of said door and co-operating with said lugs to fix said slide guide bars in place.

A metal door `comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, interior U-shaped bars located between said plates and having their flanges in surface engagement with the inner faces of said plates at the upper and lower edges thereof for closing the spaces thereat and for spacing said plates apart, external U-shaped bars fitted exteriorly over said plates at said upper and lower edges and having their flanges in surface engagement with the outer faces of said plates, and means for securing said U-'shaped bars in place.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced` .surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, a chan-` nelled member extending'along a vertical edge of said door, arecessed rubberbuler extending lengthwise of said verticaledge, and a metallic holder carried by and fitted into the recess of said buffer whereby the latter is secured in said channelled member. 10,. A metaldoor comprising two stamped metalA plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, an H- shaped member extending along an edge of said door and having flanges projecting over the outer surfaces of said plates, and a resilient buffer extending lengthwise of said edge and fixed in said H-shaped member.V

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, a channelled member extending along an edge of said door, a holder located in said channelled member and provided with outwardly open recesses, and a U-shaped resilient buffer extending into said open recesses and being secured in said channelled member by said holder.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, a channelled member extending along an edge of said door, a holder located in said channelled member, a resilient buffer held in said channelled member by said holder, a bolt extending transversely across said buffer near one end thereof, a recessed member carried by said door near one end of said edge for receiving said bolt to secure said buffer in place at said one end thereof, and a screw whereby said buffer is fixed in place at the other end thereof.
13; A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates secured together in spaced surface parallelism, co-operating channelled members litted exteriorly over the edges of said plates and interiorly between said plates respectively to close the space therebetween and to space said plates apart, some of said members being provided with openings, strengthening inserts fitted between the plates at the corners thereof and provided with recesses in registry with said openings, and fastening means located at the edges of said door and extending through said channelled members for securing said inserts in place.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates secured together in spaced surface parallelism, channelled members fitted over the edges of said plates to close the space therebetween, some of said members being provided with openings, strengthening inserts fitted between the plates at the cornersthereof and provided with recesses in registry with said openings, fastening means located at the edges of said door and extending through said channelled members for securing said inserts in place and rollers journalled in the recesses of said inserts and projecting outwardly beyond an edge of the door.

A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates secured together in spaced surface parallelism, channelled members fitted over the edges of said plates to close the space therebetween and provided with slots, and projections on said plates and extending through said slots, said `projections being bent into surface engagement with said channelled members for securing the same in place.
16. A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism,
means for securing said plates together, a channelled member extending along an edge of said door, and a resilient buffer extending into and lengthwise of said channelled member, said buffer being internally divided into two independent closed chambers one of which contains compressed air whereby said compressed air buffer, at said chamber, is expanded into frictional engagement with said channelled member andsecured 10 therein.
17. A metal door comprising two stamped metal plates located in spaced surface parallelism, means for securing said plates together, a rubber buier extendingV along an edge of said door and internally divided into two independent closed chambers one of which contains compressed air, and means embracing and rco-operating vwith said compressed air chamber Vfor fastening said buffer to said door.
