Abstract
A swivel golf tee includes an anchoring device for fastening to the ground, and a bracket pivoted to the anchoring device and having two arms disposed at two opposite lateral sides and terminating in a respective ball cup for holding a golf ball. The bracket is turned about the anchoring device when the user drives the golf ball away from one ball cup, avoiding reaction force production against the golf club.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to golf tees and more particularly, to a swivel golf tee that avoids production of reaction force against the golf club when the user drives the golf ball.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- When playing golf, as shown in
FIG. 5 , a tee A is normally used and fastened to the ground to support a golf ball B for the first stroke of each hole. When driving the golf ball B with a golf club, the golf club will hit the golf ball B at first and then the upper part of the tee A without interruption. When the golf club hits the tee A, a reaction force is produced against the golf club, causing the golf club to bais. At this time, the gall ball B may be not driven toward the expected direction. To lower this reaction force, wooden materails having a relatively lower density may be used for making tee A. However, this method cannot completely eliminate the production of a reaction force when a user drives a golf ball away from a tee. - Therefore, it is desirable to provide a golf tee that eliminates the aforesaid problem.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a swivel golf tee, which avoids production of reaction force against the golf club when the user drives the golf ball.
- To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, the swivel golf tee comprises an anchoring device for fastening to the ground, and a bracket pivoted to the anchoring device. The bracket has two arms disposed at two opposite lateral sides and terminating in a respective ball cup for holding a golf ball for hitting.

FIG. 4 is a schematic side view showing an application example of the swivel golf tee according to the present invention. -
FIG. 5 is a schematic side view showing a status of use of a conventional golf tee. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a swivel golf tee comprises ananchoring device 1 and abracket 2. - The
anchoring device 1 comprises astem 11, which has atop pivot 111 vertically upwardly extended from its top side and a locatinghole 112 on the center of the top side of thetop pivot 111, a locatingmember 12, which has a center through hole 121, and a fasteningmember 13, which is inserted through the center through hole 121 and fastened to the locatinghole 112 to affix the locatingmember 12 to the top side of thetop pivot 111. - The
bracket 2 comprises abase 21, acoupling hole 211 cut through the top and bottom sides of thebase 21, afirst arm 22 and asecond arm 23 respectively transversely extended from two opposite lateral sides of thebase 21 and respectively smoothly covered upwards and terminating in a 221 or 231.respective ball cup - During installation of the swivel golf tee, couple the
coupling hole 211 of thebase 21 of thebracket 2 to thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11 of theanchoring device 1, and then insert thefastening member 13, through the center through hole 121 and fasten the fasteningmember 13 to the locatinghole 112 to affix the locatingmember 12 to the top side of thetop pivot 111 The height of thebase 21 of thebracket 2 is slightly smaller than the height of thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11 of theanchoring device 1. Therefore, when fasteningmember 12 fastens the locatingmember 12 to the top side of thetop pivot 111 by the, thebracket 1 is secured to thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11 and can be turned about thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , by means of thestem 11, the swivel golf tee can be fastened to the ground, keeping the 221 and 231 upwards. At this time, the user can put theball cups golf ball 3 on one 221 or 231 of the swivel golf tee. When the user uses a golf club 4 to drive theball cup golf ball 3 away from the 221 or 231 toward a far place, theball cup bracket 2 will be forced to turn about thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11, avoiding reaction force production against the club 4, and therefore the user can swing the golf club 4 smoothly to drive thegolf ball 3 toward the expected direction. - Further, the
first arm 22 and thesecond arm 23 can be configured to have the 221 and 231 be disposed at different elevations, allowing the user to select eitherball cups 221 or 231 for supporting theball cup golf ball 3 subject to the type of the golf club 4 used. By means of controlling the upward curving length of thefirst arm 22 and thesecond arm 23, the 221 and 231 can be disposed at different elevations. Alternatively, theball cups first arm 22 and thesecond arm 23 can be made identical but affixed to thebase 21 at different elevations. - Further, before swinging the golf club 4, the user can turn the
bracket 2 about thetop pivot 111 of thestem 11 of theanchoring device 1, adjusting the angular position of the 221 or 231 that carries theball cup golf ball 3. If the golf club 4 touches the 221 or 231 that does not carry theball cup golf ball 3 during a swinging action, the user immediately knows the incorrect golf club swinging action and can make a proper correct. - Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
Claims (3)
1. A swivel golf tee, comprising:
an anchoring device, said anchoring device comprising a stem for fastening to the ground; and
a bracket pivoted to said anchoring device for holding a golf ball, said bracket comprising a base pivoted to said anchoring device, a first arm extending from one lateral side of said base and terminating in an upward ball cup for holding a golf ball, and a second arm extending from an opposite lateral side of said base and terminating in an upward ball cup for holding a golf ball.
2. The swivel golf tee as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said stem comprises a top pivot vertically upwardly extended from a top side thereof; said base of said bracket comprises a center coupling hole rotatably coupled to said top pivot of said stem.
3. The swivel golf tee as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said anchoring device further comprises a locating hole formed on a top side of said top pivot, a locating member attached to the top side of said top pivot and spaced above said base of said bracket to keep said bracket at said top pivot, and a fastening member inserted through said locating member and fastened to said locating hole to affix said locating member to the top side of said top pivot.
