Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to fastening string and more specifically it relates to a grip & roll in place string (G.R.i.P.-String) for the purpose of fastening or securing items that require additional support.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • It can be appreciated that fastening strings have been in use for years. Typically, fastening devices are comprised of existing fastener products commonly found in the marketplace which includes cable ties, rope, string, wire ties and Velcro tape.
  • The main problem with existing products is as follows; cable ties fail due to fatigue of the plastic material after repeated use, wire ties fail due to metal fatigue caused by repeated twisting, Velcro tape is the incorrect form factor for the fastening many of the items that G.R.i.P-String is designed for. In addition rope and string can become loose during use which can lead to damage or loss of the item(s) being fastened.
  • While these devices may be suitable for the particular purpose to which they address, they are not as suitable for addressing items which need more robust fastening support with the added easy unfastening convenience offered by G.R.i.P-String. The purpose of my invention is for fastening or securing items that require additional support.
  • In these respects, the grip G.R.i.P-String according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in so doing provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of fastening or securing items that require additional support with added easy unfastening convenience.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of fastening string now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new grip & roll in place string (G.R.i.P.-String) construction wherein the same can be utilized for the purpose of fastening or securing items that require additional support with added easy unfastening convenience.
  • The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new G.R.i.P.-String that has many of the advantages of the fastening string mentioned heretofore and many novel features that result in a new fastening string which is not anticipated, rendered obvious, suggested, or even implied by any of the prior art fastening string, either alone or in any combination thereof.
  • To attain this, the present invention generally comprises components of my invention that includes standard nylon string material with an integrated hook & loop section for increased gripping after the string has been tied. The string material is 100% multifilament nylon (FIG. 1, item 15). It is available in colors and resistant to chemicals and abrasion and is non-spliceable. The ‘Hook & Loop’ sections are integrated into the nylon string material. They consist of alternating minute hooks and loop pile that are integrated in a 45 degree angle (FIG. 2, item 30) to the string 0 degree line (FIG. 2, item 25) from end-to-end of the ‘Hook & Loop’ section. The tie-through eye (FIG. 1, item 10) is a means to attach the G.R.i.P.-String fastener to the item(s) that requires additional fastening support.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter.
  • In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of the description and should not be regarded as limiting.
  • A primary object of the present invention is to provide a G.R.i.P.-String that will overcome the shortcomings of the prior art devices.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a G.R.i.P.-String for fastening or securing items that require additional support.
  • GRiP-String is composed of standard nylon string material with an integrated hook & loop section for increased gripping after the string has been tied. GRiP-String product lifetime is exceptional in that it will not become inoperative due to fatigue compared to other types of fastener devices. GRiP-String is a means to secure the components on the following items; shoes, jackets, zippers on multiple items like back and fanny packs, cables, sporting accessories and equipment.
  • Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become obvious to the reader and it is intended that these objects and advantages are within the scope of the present invention.
  • To the accomplishment of the above and related objects, this invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings, attention being called to the fact, however, that the drawings are illustrative only, and that changes may be made in the specific construction illustrated.
