    FUNCTION OF THE INVENTION
  • To facilitate greater ease of use of “upright” vacuum cleaners.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • On an “upright” vacuum cleaner, instead of a single handle, two handles. When in use, the handles are positioned horizontally level with one another, either side of a line running from front to rear of the vacuum cleaner.
  • USE OF INVENTION
  • The handles allow both hands of the user to move and control the position of the vacuum cleaner.
  • Possible Variations included in this Invention:
  • The two handles may be
      • manufactured to be a fixed distance apart,
      • manufactured such that their distance apart is adjustable by the user, or
      • manufactured such that they, during use and under normal operating conditions can be moved from a position where they are closer, to where they are further apart, and back.
    Method of Manufacture:
  • Existing manufacturing methods may by employed to make the invention, and its variations.
  • Materials to be Used:
  • Metals, rubbers, plastics, wood and/or organic or inorganic materials may be used.

Claims (1)

1. Until now, vacuum cleaners have been equipped with only one handle. “Sweeping the nation” is the first suggestion of creating vacuum cleaners with two handles for the use of operating the vacuum cleaner (as opposed to “for the use of carrying the vacuum cleaner, or any other activity other than the normal operation of the vacuum cleaner”),
and
“Sweeping the nation” was invented in June 2008 by Robert Murdoch of 4536 SW 3rd Ave, Cape Coral, Fla. 33914, U.S.A.
