Abstract
Disclosed is a combination storage device, which includes a collapsible frame structure formed of an outer oblong oval open frame and an inner oblong oval open frame that are coupled together turnable relative each other in a scissor action between a crossed operative position and a received non-operative position, and a collapsible storage device body supported on the collapsible frame structure.
Description
- (a) Technical Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates storage devices and more particularly, to a combination storage device.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- Due to limited living space, people usually use storage containers to keep small clothes and small items. Conventional storage boxes, racks and cabinets made be of a discrete design for storing things independently, or provided with means for hanging on a hanging rod inside a wardrobe. Further, conventional storage boxes, racks and cabinets commonly have a rectangular configuration. This shape design is not attractive. Further, the storage space is limited. Conventional storage boxes, racks and cabinets are made out of a tough and flexible material, having a solid wall structure at the top, bottom, left, right and back sides and an opening at the front side. Further, partition devices are installed to divide the inside space into multiple storage compartments. A hanging hole or fastening belt may be provided at the top side so that the storage box, rack or cabinet can be hung on a hanging rod inside a wardrobe.
- Further, a storage box, rack or cabinet having a folding collapsible function is an important factor to attract people to buy. When a folding collapsible storage box, rack or cabinet is not in use, it can be folded into a collapsed flat manner, saving the storage space.
- The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a combination storage device, which is conveniently settable between an extended operative condition and a received non-operative condition, and which causes a sense of beauty.
- According to one aspect of the present invention, the combination storage device comprises a collapsible frame structure, and a collapsible storage device. The collapsible frame structure comprises an outer oblong oval open frame and an inner oblong oval open frame coupled to the outer oblong oval open frame and receivable within the outer oblong oval open frame. The collapsible storage device body is supported on the collapsible fame structure.
- According to another aspect of the present invention, the outer oblong oval open frame has two pivot pins bilaterally disposed on the middle and facing each other; the inner oblong oval open frame has two pivot holes bilaterally disposed on the and respectively coupled to the pivot pins of the outer oblong oval open frame. Therefore, the outer oblong oval open frame and the inner oblong oval open frame can be moved relative each other in a scissor action between a crossed position for positioning on the floor and a received position with he inner oblong oval open frame received within the outer oblong oval open frame.
- According to still another aspect of the present invention, the collapsible storage device body has two sides of the top panel thereof respectively fastened to the top side of the outer oblong oval open frame and the top side of the inner oblong oval open frame with a respective fastening tape of hook and loop materials, and two sides of the bottom panel thereof respectively fastened to the bottom side of the outer oblong oval open frame and the bottom side of the inner oblong oval open frame with a respective fastening tape of hook and loop materials.
- According to still another aspect of the present invention, the collapsible storage device body can be made out of a flexible sheet material, for example, canvass, having two opposite side panels smoothly arched. Further, horizontal partition boards are provided inside the collapsible storage device body to divide the holding space of the collapsible storage device body into multiple compartments.
- According to still another aspect of the present invention, the collapsible storage device can be a bag for collecting clothes to be washed.
- The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
- Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

FIG. 1 is an elevational view of a combination storage device in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is an elevational assembly view of the combination storage device in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is an elevational assembly view of the combination storage device in accordance with a third embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is an elevational assembly view of the combination storage device in accordance with a fourth embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 5A is an exploded view of the collapsible frame structure for combination storage device according to the present invention. -
FIG. 5B illustrates the collapsible frame structure set in the crossed position according to the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic drawing showing the collapsible frame structure, the collapsible storage device body, and the storage bag collapsed and received in a flat manner. - The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , a combination storage device in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprised of acollapsible frame structure 1 and a collapsiblestorage device body 2. - Referring to
FIGS. 5A and 5B , thecollapsible frame structure 1 is comprised of an outeropen frame 11 and an inneropen frame 12. According to his embodiment, the outeropen frame 11 and the inneropen frame 12 have the same shape but different sizes, i.e., the inneropen frame 12 is relatively smaller an the outeropen frame 11 so that the inneropen frame 12 is receivable within the outeropen frame 11. According to this embodiment, the outeropen frame 11 and the inneropen frame 12 have an oblong oval. The outeropen fame 11 and the inneropen frame 12 are pivotally connected together so that they can be moved relative to each other in a scissor action between a crossed position for positioning on the floor (seeFIG. 5B ) and a received position with the inneropen frame 12 received within the outer open frame 11 (seeFIG. 6 ). The outeropen frame 11 and the inneropen frame 12 are preferably made of bamboo slats. The outeropen frame 11 and the inneropen frame 12 each have two lateral sides made relatively longer and smoothly arched and the top and bottom sides made relatively shorter and straight. Further, the outeropen frame 11 has twopivot pins 111 respectively perpendicularly extended from the middle of each of the two opposite lateral sides in direction toward each other. The inneropen frame 12 has twopivot holes 121 bilaterally disposed on the middle and respectively coupled to thepivot pins 111. - Referring to
FIG. 1 again, the collapsiblestorage device body 2 has twoside panels 21, and a plurality ofhard partition boards 22 horizontally affixed to the twoside panels 21 at different elevations and defining with the two side panels 21 a plurality of storage spaces. The collapsiblestorage device body 2 is made out of canvass or any of a variety of suitable flexible sheet materials. Thehard partition boards 22 can be covered with a flexible sheet material (canvass) and then stitched to theside panels 21 of the collapsiblestorage device body 2. The front side of the collapsiblestorage device body 2 is an open side. The rear side of the collapsiblestorage device body 2 can be an open side or blocked. The top and bottom sides of the collapsiblestorage device body 2 are respectively provided with two fastening tapes of hook and 23 and 24 for fastening to the top and bottom sides of the outerloop materials open frame 11 and the inneropen frame 12. -
FIG. 2 shows a combination storage device in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. This second embodiment is substantially similar to the aforesaid first embodiment with the exception thatvertical partition boards 221 are provided to separate each storage space into two equal spaces. -
FIG. 3 is an elevational assembly view of the combination storage device in accordance with a third embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the combination storage device is comprised of acollapsible frame structure 1 and astorage bag 3. Thecollapsible frame structure 1 is same as that shown in the aforesaid first and second embodiments. Thestorage bag 3 has twopockets 31 that can be respectively capped on the top side of the outeropen frame 11 and the top side of the inneropen frame 12 to hang thestorage bag 3 in thecollapsible frame structure 1 that is extended to the crossed position and positioned on the floor, and two fastening tapes of hook andloop materials 33 bilaterally located at the bottom side for fastening to the side of the outeropen frame 11 and the bottom side of the inneropen frame 12 respectively. Further, anopening 32 is formed on each of the twopockets 31 through which the user's hands can be inserted to hold thecollapsible frame structure 1 and to move the combination storage device. -
FIG. 4 is an elevational assembly view of the combination storage device in accordance with a fourth embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is substantially similar to the aforesaid third embodiment with the exception that apartition board 34 is set in thestorage bag 3 to divide the holding space of thestorage bag 3 into two separate spaces. - When the combination storage device is not in use, the
collapsible frame structure 1, the collapsiblestorage device body 2, and thestorage bag 3 can be collapsed and received in a flat manner. - It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
- While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
Claims (5)
1. A combination storage device comprising:
a collapsible frame structure, said collapsible frame structure comprising an outer oblong oval open frame and an inner oblong oval open frame coupled to said outer oblong oval open frame and receivable within said outer oblong oval open frame; and
a collapsible storage device body supported on said collapsible frame structure.
2. The combination storage device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said collapsible storage device body having two sides of a top panel thereof respectively fastened to a top side of said outer oblong oval open frame and atop side of said inner oblong oval open frame and two sides of a bottom panel thereof respectively fastened to a bottom side of said outer oblong oval open frame and a bottom side of said inner oblong oval open frame.

The combination storage device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said outer oblong oval open frame has two pivot pins bilaterally disposed on a middle part thereof and facing each other, said inner oblong oval open frame has two pivot holes bilaterally disposed on a middle part thereof and respectively coupled to said pivot pins of said outer oblong oval open frame.

The combination storage device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein collapsible storage device body has a plurality of fastening tapes of hook and loop materials respectively provided at top and bottom sides thereof for fastening to said outer oblong oval open frame and said inner oblong oval open frame.
5. The combination storage device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein collapsible storage device body has two pockets bilaterally disposed at a top side thereof for fastening to a top side of said outer oblong oval open frame and a top side of said inner oblong oval open frame and a plurality of fastening tapes of hook and loop materials bilaterally disposed at a bottom side thereof for fastening to a bottom side of said outer oblong oval open frame and a bottom side of said inner oblong oval open frame.
