Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a ceiling fan, particularly to one having a fast-positioning device for assembling blade brackets to its motor housing.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Commonly, screws and threaded holes are the typical devices used to keep blade brackets assembled with a conventional ceiling fan motor. As disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,352,411, “QUICK INSTALL BLADE ARMS FOR CEILING FANS”, the bottom of the motor housing of a conventional ceiling fan is provided with a column located at five certain locations around its circumference respectively, and a fixing hole bored at two sides of the column respectively. The column is also provided with a female-threaded hole. The blade bracket is provided with a through hole and positioning pins corresponding to the female-threaded hole and the fixing holes respectively. So, the motor housing can be primarily fixed by a locking element and a screw inserted through each of the columns, and next the positioning pins of the blade bracket are put in the fixing holes of the motor housing. Then, lock a guiding slope of the locking element in the through hole of the blade bracket to keep the blade bracket completely installed under the motor housing.
- In assembly, the motor is first installed below the ceiling and next, each of the locking elements is loosely fixed in the female-threaded hole of the column by a single screw so that it is somewhat adjustable. Then, keep the through hole of each of the blade brackets locked by the guiding slope of the locking element, and move the two positioning pins to face the fixing holes and get fixed therein. Finally, the screw in the female-threaded hole can be further screwed up totally. Although the locking element can get the purpose of quickly locking the blade bracket, but it needs the positioning pins and the fixing hole to obtain a stable installation, not only having too many components, but also increasing cost.
- The objective of this invention is to offer a fast-positioning device for assembling blade brackets to a motor housing of a ceiling fan.
- The motor housing has its bottom provided with at least a positioning plate respectively projected downward at plural locations equidistantly spaced apart around its circumference. Each of the positioning plates has a long side arranged around the circumference of the motor housing. Each blade bracket is provided with a connecting portion for connecting with the motor housing. The connecting portion is provided with at least a plugging groove bored vertically for corresponding to the positioning plate. In installation, the blade bracket can be moved upward to keep the plugging groove instantly inserted by the positioning plate as the plugging groove and the positioning plate are correspondingly arranged around the circumference of the motor housing. And, engaging positioning locations of the blade brackets and the motor housing are simultaneously located at right positions for being fixed by screwing elements without necessity of adjusting position.
- This invention is better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a fast-positioning device for assembling blade brackets to a motor housing of a ceiling fan in the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of a fast-positioning device for assembling blade brackets to a motor housing of a ceiling fan in the present invention; and -
FIG. 3 is a side cross-sectional view of the first preferred embodiment of a fast-positioning device for assembling blade brackets to a motor housing of a ceiling fan in the present invention. -
FIGS. 1˜3 show a preferred embodiment of a fast-positioning device for assemblingblade brackets 20 to amotor housing 10 of a ceiling fan. The ceiling fan at least includes amotor housing 10 andplural blade brackets 20. - The
motor housing 10 has a round bottom, made of metal and provided with apositioning plate 11 located at five certain locations around it s circumference respectively, closer to its center, and equidistantly spaced apart. Thepositioning plate 11 is integrally formed by pressing down from the bottom of themotor housing 10, shaped rectangular and provided with along side 111 and ashort side 112. Thelong side 111 of thepositioning plates 11 is arranged around the circumference of themotor housing 10 in order. Themotor housing 10 is also provided with a threadedhole 12 bored at two sides of each of thepositioning plates 11 respectively. - Each
blade bracket 20 is provided with a connectingportion 21, which is to be connected with themotor housing 10, provided with aplugging groove 211 bored vertically at its center for corresponding to thepositioning plate 11. Theplugging groove 211 formed rectangular is to be vertically inserted and restricted by thepositioning plate 11, having its wall attached with theshort sides 112 of thepositioning plate 11 and its bottom attached with the long side of thepositioning plate 11. Additionally, the connectingportion 21 is also provided with athrough hole 212 bored at its two sides respectively, corresponding to the threadedhole 12 so as to let ascrew 22 to pass through and be engaged with the threaded hole 1 2. Therefore, theblade brackets 20 are stably installed under the motor shell. - As shown in
FIGS. 1˜3 , in assembling, themotor housing 10 is first fixed under the ceiling and then, each of theblade brackets 20 is vertically moved up to keep theplugging groove 211 inserted by thepositioning plate 11. By the time, the throughholes 212 of theblade bracket 20 are positioned to exactly face to the threadedholes 12 of themotor housing 10, ready for thescrews 22 to pass through and be screwed up in the threadedholes 12. It is to be noted that as theplugging grooves 211 and thelong sides 111 of thepositioning plates 11 are correspondingly formed along the circumference of themotor housing 10, theblade brackets 20 can be instantly positioned under themotor housing 10 and the 12 and 212 are simultaneously located just in the same positions for being fixed by therelated positioning holes screws 22. - The advantages of the invention are described below as can be seen from the foresaid description.
- In installation, as the
plugging grooves 211 and thelong sides 111 of thepositioning plates 11 are correspondingly formed around the circumference of themotor housing 10, theblade brackets 20 can be instantly positioned under themotor housing 10, and the throughholes 212 and the threadedholes 12 are simultaneously located at the same position for being fixed by thescrews 22 without necessity of further adjustment. And, each of thepositioning plates 11 is formed integrally by pressing the bottom of themotor housing 10, able to advance manufacturing efficiency and lower cost. - While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
