Abstract
The present invention relates to a bottle with a peripheral chamber. The bottle comprises a bottle body, a wall of the bottle body curving inwards thus creating a chamber therein, and a cover of the chamber. The cover can be opened or closed by using a concave depression on the bottle body. The bottle further comprises a container of the chamber so that the chamber can hold a second object in addition to a first object in the bottle body. The bottle is capable of carrying different objects simultaneously. Since the chamber is formed directly from the bottle body, the present invention is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and low in cost.
Description
- This application claims foreign priority under 35 U.S.C. § 119 to Chinese Patent Application no. 200720120341.8, filed May 28, 2007, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a bottle and, more particularly, to a bottle with a peripheral chamber.
- 2. Related Art
- Existing bottles are designed with only one chamber, thus contain only one kind of substance. In order to carry two or more different substances separately, there needs to be two or more bottles. Such substances, which easily produce a reaction when mingled or easily dissolves in one or the other, require that they remain separated until necessary for their combination. However, requiring two or more bottles is not only costly and but also inconvenient.
- For example, in order to produce a kit containing different substances to be mixed, manufacturers would have to produce each bottle holding the respective substance. Furthermore, the respective specification or label regarding each substance has to be attached to each bottle. This is not only inconvenient but also cumbersome—especially, if the substance changes or the label needs to be changed.
- Thus, a need exists for a bottle capable of containing different substances simultaneously.
- The present invention is directed to a bottle capable of containing different substances simultaneously. An object of the present invention is to provide a bottle with a peripheral chamber that enables a user to carry different substances in one bottle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, there is a bottle with a peripheral chamber comprising a bottle body; a wall of the bottle body curving inwards, thereby creating the chamber therein; and a cover attached to one or more edges of the chamber for covering the chamber. The inward curve of the wall of the bottle body can be concave or at any other angle, creating said chamber.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cover is transparent. The cover is curved to fit the angle of the bottle body. The cover is attached to the bottle body on a movable pivot for opening and closing the cover on the chamber. Alternatively the cover may be attached to the bottle body by latches such that the cover may be locked into place in a closed position or completed removed from the bottle body in an open position. Furthermore, the wall of the bottle body comprises a concave indentation or depression near an edge of the chamber where the cover and wall meet, the depression shaped to accommodate the tip of a human finger, such that the cover may be opened.
- According to another embodiment of the present invention, there is a bottle body comprising a wall concaving inwards to create a chamber within the bottle body; an independent container with a lid, shaped and sized to fit into the chamber, such that the container is encased inside the chamber.
- An embodiment of the present invention includes a movable pivot connecting the container to a flange of the container lid, and the lid and container are combined so that they are formed as a unit at a fold line where the lid and container connect. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the chamber is formed inside the inner wall of the bottle body.
- According to embodiments of the present invention, any viable material, like metal or plastic may be used to manufacture the present invention. Embodiments of the present invention include not only a covered chamber within a bottle body, but also an independent container with a lid shaped to fit the chamber so as to allow a user to conveniently carry different substances at one time. The present invention is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and low in cost.
- These and other embodiments of the present invention are further made apparent, in the remainder of the present document, to those of ordinary skill in the art.
- In order to more fully describe embodiments of the present invention, reference is made to the accompanying drawings. These drawings are not to be considered limitations in the scope of the invention, but are merely illustrative.
-
FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a bottle with a peripheral chamber according to an embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a schematic view of a bottle with a peripheral chamber according to another embodiment of the present invention. - The description above and below and the drawings of the present document focus on one or more currently preferred embodiments of the present invention and also describe some exemplary optional features and/or alternative embodiments. The description and drawings are for the purpose of illustration and not limitation. Those of ordinary skill in the art would recognize variations, modifications, and alternatives. Such variations, modifications, and alternatives are also within the scope of the present invention.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 , an embodiment of the present invention comprises abottle body 1; achamber 2 created by a wall of thebottle body 1 curving inwards; and acover 3 for covering an opening of thechamber 2.FIG. 1 shows a cutaway of thecover 3 to reveal thechamber 2. In an embodiment of the present invention, thebottle body 1 further includes aconcave depression 6 shaped to accommodate the tip of a human finger for easy opening of the cover. - According to an embodiment of the present invention, a label or a picture that illustrates each substance being carried in the
bottle chamber 2 is attached on the outside of thechamber 2 or somewhere inside thechamber 2. Thecover 3 covering thechamber 2 may be transparent to allow for easy viewing. Thecover 3 is curved to fit the angle of thebottle body 1. Thecover 3 is attached to thebottle body 1 on a movable pivot that allows thecover 3 to open and close as needed. In another embodiment, thecover 3 is joggled or otherwise fastened to thebottle body 1 and to thechamber 2. Thecover 3 can therefore be completely removed from thebottle body 1. - In an embodiment of the present invention, the
cover 3 is located outside of thechamber 2 and thebottle body 1 includes two symmetricalconcave areas 6 at a junction of the cover and the edge of the chamber, which a human finger fits for easier opening of thecover 3. Thecover 3 is further joggled with thebottle body 1. -
FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the present invention comprising abottle body 1, achamber 2 created by a wall of thebottle body 1 curving inwards, and acontainer 5 with alid 4 which is attached to thechamber 2. The shape and size ofcontainer 5 withlid 4 fits inside thechamber 2. - In an embodiment of the present invention, the
container 5 may be made out of a material different from a material used for thebottle body 1 so that thecontainer 5 is capable of carrying a substance that thebottle body 1 cannot carry. Thelid 4 and thecontainer 5 are combined so as to form a fold line where thelid 4 and thecontainer 5 connect for easy opening of thelid 4 and easy manufacturing with low cost. - According to embodiments of the present invention, any viable material, like metal or plastic may be used to manufacture the components of the present invention. The components including the
bottle body 1,chamber 2,cover 3,lid 4, andcontainer 5 may all be shaped to different configurations and sizes. The present invention is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and low in cost. - Throughout the description and drawings, example embodiments are given with reference to specific configurations. It will be appreciated by those of ordinary skill in the art that the present invention can be embodied in other specific forms. Those of ordinary skill in the art would be able to practice such other embodiments without undue experimentation. For example, all parts shown in the Figures may have different shapes and sizes from what is shown in the Figures and each part may be made of different materials. The scope of the present invention, for the purpose of the present patent document, is not limited merely to the specific example embodiments of the foregoing description, but rather is indicated by the appended claims. All changes that come within the meaning and range of equivalents within the claims are intended to be considered as being embraced within the spirit and scope of the claims.
