Abstract
An intelligent toy for children includes a body and a pattern element. The body has a base, a stud, two rotating elements and two magnets. The base has an upper surface, a front section, a rear section, a front end face, a rear end face and a positioning channel. The positioning channel is defined longitudinally in the upper surface and has a bottom and a width. The stud is mounted on the bottom of the positioning channel. The rotating members are mounted rotatably on the front and rear sections of the base. The magnets are mounted respectively on the front and rear end faces of the base. The pattern element is mounted detachably on the base and has a positioning hole defined in the bottom surface of the pattern element and engaging the stud on the base.
Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a toy, and more particularly to an intelligent toy for children that can help children to learn about letter, animal, etc. and develop children's large-scale space concept in playing.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional intelligent toy, such as jigsaw puzzles comprises patterns printed respectively on wooden plates or paper sheets. Children can learn about letters, numbers or figures by means of arranging the wooden plates or paper sheets. However, because variability of the conventional intelligent toy is limited, children will feel boring after a period of time of playing. In addition, because the arrangements of the wooden plates or paper sheets are planar, children can not develop space concept from the conventional intelligent toy.
- Another intelligent toy can provide three-dimensional variability by stacking and assembling building blocks. However, stacked building blocks occupy a huge volume and may collapse easily when children move the stacked building blocks. So the children can not move the stacked building blocks conveniently and the stacked building blocks can not provide mobile effect to develop large-scale space concept in playing.
- To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides an intelligent toy for children to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an intelligent toy for children that can help children to learn about letter, animal, etc. and develop children's large-scale space concept in playing.
- An intelligent toy for children in accordance with the present invention comprises a body and a pattern element. The body comprises a base, a stud, two rotating elements and two magnets. The base has an upper surface, a front section, a rear section, a front end face, a rear end face and a positioning channel. The positioning channel is defined longitudinally in the upper surface of the base and has a bottom and a width. The stud is mounted on the bottom of the positioning channel. The rotating members are mounted rotatably and respectively on the front section and the rear section of the base. The magnets are mounted respectively on the front end face and the rear end face of the base. The pattern element is mounted detachably on the base and has a width narrower than that of the positioning channel, a bottom surface and a positioning hole defined in the bottom surface of the pattern element and engaging the stud on the base.
- Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of multiple intelligent toys for children with pattern elements being fruit figures. - With reference to
FIGS. 1 to 7 , an intelligent toy for children in accordance with the present invention comprises a body (10) and a pattern element (20, 20A, 20B, 20C). - The body (10) comprises a base (11), a stud (112), two rotating members (12), two magnets (13) and two bolts (14). The base (11) may be rectangular for children conveniently handling and has an upper surface, a front section, a rear section, a front end face, a rear end face, a positioning channel (111) and two optional through holes (113). The positioning channel (111) is defined longitudinally in the upper surface of the base (11) and has a bottom and a width. The through holes (113) are defined transversely and respectively through the front section and the rear section of the base (11).
- The stud (112) is cylindrical and is mounted on the bottom of the positioning channel (111).
- With reference to
FIG. 4 , the rotating members (12) are mounted rotatably and respectively on the front section and the rear section of the base (11) so the base (11) can run on the ground or along a rail (30) and provide a mobile effect. So the intelligent toy can develop children's large-scale space concept by playing and the mobile effect improve fun of playing the intelligent toy. Each rotating member (12) may comprise a wheel shaft (121), a mounting shaft (123) and two wheels (122). The wheel shaft (121) is mounted in one of the through holes (113) in the base (11) and has an outer end and a circular head mounted on the outer end. The mounting shaft (123) is mounted in the wheel shaft (121) and has an outer end and a circular head mounted on the outer end. The wheels (122) are circular and are mounted respectively on the outer ends of the wheel shaft (121) and the mounting shaft (123). Each wheel (122) has an outer surface, a bottom edge and a circular flange (124). The bottom edge extends below the bottom of the base (11) so the base (11) can move with the rotation of the wheels (122). The circular flange (124) is formed on the outer surface of the wheel (122), accommodates one of the circular heads and abuts the rail (30), such that the rotating members (12) can be held and moved on the rail (30) stably. - The magnets (13) are mounted respectively on the front end face and the rear end face of the base (11). So multiple bases (11) can connect to each other end to end with the attraction of the magnets (13). Each magnet (13) may be circular and may have a fastening hole (131) defined through the magnet (13).
- The bolts (14) are extended respectively through the fastening holes (131) in the magnets (13), are mounted respectively in the front end face and the rear end face of the base (11) and each bolt (14) has a head having a curved outer surface. Therefore, adjacent bases (11) can connect to each other end to end via the curved outer surfaces even though they are not in a line.
- With reference to
FIGS. 5 to 7 , the pattern element (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) is mounted detachably on the base (11) and has a width narrower than that of the positioning channel (111), a bottom surface and a positioning hole (21). The positioning hole (21) is defined in the bottom surface of the pattern element (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) and engages the stud (112) on the base (11). The pattern element (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) may be a steric block of letter, number, animal etc. or a flat board. The flat board has two side surfaces. At least one of the side surfaces has a pattern that is formed on the side surface and may be fruit or cartoon figures. Because the pattern element (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) is mounted detachably on the base (11) so a player can use multiple pattern elements (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) and fewer bodies (10) to increase variability of the intelligent toy. In addition, the player can arrange several pattern elements (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) to form a meaningful design. For example, several pattern elements (20, 20A, 20B, 20C) of letter can be arranged to a word so children can be familiar with the word in playing. - Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
Claims (19)
1. An intelligent toy for children comprising
a body comprising
a base having
an upper surface;
a front section;
a rear section;
a front end face;
a rear end face; and
a positioning channel being defined longitudinally in the upper surface of the base and having a bottom and a width;
a stud being mounted on the bottom of the positioning channel;
two rotating members being mounted rotatably and respectively on the front section and the rear section of the base; and
two magnets being mounted respectively on the front end face and the rear end face of the base; and
a pattern element being mounted detachably on the base and having a width being narrower than that of the positioning channel, a bottom surface and a positioning hole defined in the bottom surface of the pattern element and engaging the stud on the base.
2. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the base further has two through hole defined through transversely and respectively through the front section and the rear section of the base; and
each rotating member comprises
a wheel shaft being mounted in one of the through holes in the base and having
an outer end; and
a circular head being mounted on the outer end;
a mounting shaft being mounted in the wheel shaft and having
an outer end; and
a circular head being mounted radially on the outer end; and
two wheels being mounted respectively on the outer ends of the wheel shaft and the mounting shaft and each wheel having an outer surface.
3. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 2 , wherein
each wheel further has a circular flange formed on the outer surface of the wheel and accommodating one of the circular heads.
4. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 3 , wherein
each magnet is circular and has a fastening hole defined through the magnet; and
the body further has two bolts extended respectively through the fastening holes in the magnets and mounted respectively in the front end face and the rear end face of the base, and each bolt has a head having a curved outer surface.
5. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 4 , wherein
the base is rectangular.
6. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 5 , wherein
the stud is cylindrical.
7. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 6 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of letter.
8. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 6 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of number.
9. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 6 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of animal.
10. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 6 , wherein
the pattern element is a flat board and has two side surfaces and at least one of the side surfaces has a pattern formed on the side surface.
11. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 10 , wherein
the pattern on one of the side surfaces of the pattern element is a fruit figure.
12. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
each magnet is circular and has a fastening hole defined through the magnet; and
the body further has two bolts extended respectively through the fastening holes in the magnets and mounted respectively in the front end face and the rear end face of the base, and each bolt has a head having a curved outer surface.
13. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the base is rectangular.
14. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the stud is cylindrical.
15. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of letter.
16. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of number.
17. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the pattern element is a steric block of animal.
18. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
the pattern element is a flat board and has two side surfaces and at least one of the side surfaces has a pattern formed on the side surface.
19. The intelligent toy for children as claimed in claim 18 , wherein
the pattern on one of the side surfaces of the pattern element is a fruit figure.
