Abstract

A quickly detachable cabinet provides several elongated holes and projection elements at two joining plates thereof for the elongated holes being matched with the projection elements and a latch element being inserted into an inserted space between the respective projection element and the elongated hole. Hence, the cabinet can be assembled and disassembled easily with hands without hand tools.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention is related to a quickly detachable cabinet and particularly to a cabinet in which the lap-joining plates has elongated holes corresponding to projection elements for a latch element being inserted into a space between the respective projection element and the respective elongated hole so as to simplify assembling and disassembling of the cabinet.
  • 2. Brief Description of the Related Art
  • A conventional engagement way to joining two lap-joining plates of a cabinet is usually to drill fitting holes at the plates and then screws and nuts are employed to fasten with each other via the screws passing through the fitting holes. Another conventional engagement way is to weld the two lap-joining plates together. However, the preceding engagement ways are very time consuming and labor overspending. Further, in case of welding the lap-joining plates of the cabinet together, the plates are attached to each other and it is unable to be detached from each other for delivery or storage once the plates are welded together. As for screw fastening, it is very tedious to set up the cabinet with the screws engaging with the nuts. In addition, it is easy for the screws to become loosening after the cabinet is used a period of time and it results in the joining plates loosening apart without firmness.
  • US Patent Application Publication No. US-2002/0168218 discloses inserting means, which has an engaging end at the front ends and middle sections thereof respectively, to be attached to a preset engaging device between two lap-joining plates. However, the preceding engaging device is extremely complicated structurally so that it is inconvenient for plates of the cabinet being detached from each other and being set up completely. Next, U.S. Pat. No. 2,528,910 discloses a fastener with an engaging end has a torsion spring to locate a preset element and the fastener has an elastic lock at the middle thereof and an engaging recess at the bottom thereof for performing engagement with other corresponding part. But, the fastener is suitable for the snap-on drawer lock only and it is incapable of applying to engagement between the plates of the cabinet. Further, French Patent Publication No. FR-2298258 discloses an insert part at each of the two joining plates and the insert part can be movably locked with an engaging element. However, the engaging element is provided without elastic engaging parts so that the joining plates provide unfavorable steadiness and the joining plates become loosening apart easily.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a quick detachable cabinet in which several elongated holes and projection elements at two joining plates thereof are arranged to allow the elongated holes being matched with the projection elements and a latch element being inserted into a inserted space between the respective projection element and the elongated hole for the cabinet can be assembled firmly and disassembled easily with hands without hand tools.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a quick detachable cabinet in which the latch element has an elastic lock section such that the tap-joining plates are attached to each other simply while setting up the cabinet once the elastic lock section engaging with two opposite engaging sides of the respective elongated hole and the tap-joining plates can be detached from each other easily for carrying out delivery and storage jobs once the elastic lock section is pressed to disengaged from the respective elongated hole.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 to 12, a quickly detachable cabinet according to the present invention includes parts explained hereinafter.
  • At least a first plate 10 is provided with two opposite lateral bent sides, wherein one of the bent sides is stamped inward a clearance 12 to form a projection element 11 and an opening with a height D as shown in FIG. 8. The projection element 11 has a slant edge 13 at two opposite end parts thereof.
  • At least a second plate 20 is employed to lap join to the lateral bent side with the projection element 1 as shown in FIG. 1. The second plate 20 has an elongated hole 21 with a first engaging side 22 and a second engaging side 23 corresponding to the projection element 11 as shown in FIGS. 3 and 7. It can be seen in FIG. 3 that the first engaging side 22 is opposite to the second engaging side 23 and spaces apart a distance W from the second long side 23 for the elongated hole 21 being inserted with and fitting with the projection element 11 while the second plate 20 is lap-joined to the first plate 11 as shown in FIG. 8. As a result, an inserted space is formed between the projection element and the second plate 20.
  • An “L” shaped latch element 30 is provided to insert into the inserted space between the first and second plates 10, 20 horizontally. It can be seen in FIGS. 3 to 5 that the latch element 30 has a holding portion 31 and an insert portion 32 and the holding portion 31 is perpendicular to the insert portion 32. The insert portion 32 has a width D, which is the same as the height D of the opening at the first plate 10, such that the insert portion 32 is capable of being inserted into the inserted space tightly. Further, the central area of the insert portion 32 is stamped an elastic lock section 33, which inclines outward toward the clearance 12, with an engaging end side 331 and a bent side 332 opposite to the engaging end side 331, and a distance between the engaging end side 331 and the bent side 332 is W shown in FIG. 6. The distance W between the engaging end side 331 and the bent side 332 is equal to the distance D between the first engaging side 22 and the second engaging side 23 of the elongated hole 21 at the second plate 20 such that the engaging end side 331 of the elastic lock section 33 engages with the first engaging side 22 and the bent side 332 presses against an edge of the second engaging side 23. In this way, the elastic lock section 33 of the latch element 30 is able to lock with the elongated hole 21 of the second plate 20. Further, the latch element 30 has a shoulder at two lateral sides of the insert portion 32 to form a limit section 34 respectively such that the respective limit section 34 is capable of contacting with the respective slant edge 13 of the projection element 11 while the insert portion 32 is inserted into the inserted space to locate the latch element 30. In addition, the front end of the insert portion 32 has two opposite slant guide sides 35 to facilitate the insert portion 32 to enter the inserted space.
  • Referring to FIGS. 9 to 12, a quick detachable cabinet according to the present invention in practice is illustrated. When the projection element 11 is inserted through the elongated hole 21 to form the inserted space in the clearance 12, the latch element 30 is inserted into the inserted space with insert portion 32 easily due to the slant guide side 35. In the mean time, the elastic lock section 33 is pressingly deformed while the insert portion 32 being inserted into the inserted space. Once the latch element 30 moves till the elastic lock section 33 sliding to a position corresponding to the elongated hole 21, the elastic lock section 33 elastically engages with elongated hole 21 in a way of the engaging end side 331 engaging with the first engaging side 22 of the elongated hole 21 of the second plate and the bent side 332 pressing against the edge of the second engaging side 23. Hence, the structural arrangement of the quickly detachable cabinet allows the first plate 10 and the second plate 20 being assembled firmly without loosening apart from each other due to the latch element 30 is incapable of releasing reversely.
  • In case of the quickly detachable cabinet of the present invention being disassembled for delivery and storage, the elastic lock section 33 is pressed from outer side of the cabinet to disengage the engaging end side 331 from the first engaging side 22 such that the elastic lock section 33 is free from the elongated hole 21 of the second plate 20 and withdrawn from the inserted space of the clearance 12. In this way, the first plate 10 can be detached from the second plate 20 simply without any hand tool.
  • It is appreciated that the quickly detachable cabinet according to the present invention has simplified the job for assembling and disassembling the cabinet so that the cabinet can be set up or detached with hands easily without any hand tools and it is widely suitable for any sheet metal made cabinets such as the mobile tool cabinet, the composite box and the composite cabinet.
  • While the invention has been described with referencing to a preferred embodiment thereof, it is to be understood that modifications or variations may be easily made without departing from the spirit of this invention, which is defined by the appended claims.
