Abstract
A bottle cap type additive container connectable to a mineral water bottle to improve flavor is disclosed to include a cylindrical container body threadable onto the threaded neck of a bottle, a water soluble good grade additive contained in the container body, a filter cloth-based insert inserted into the bottom open side of the container body to keep the additive inside the container body, and a seal film sealed to the bottom open side of the container body.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to an additive container and more particularly, to a bottle cap type additive container that is connectable to a mineral water bottle to improve the flavor (and/or appearance) of the mineral water.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Various different types of beverages including juices, mineral water, teas, herbal teas, and etc., are available on the market. Except mineral water, most packed commercial beverages contain a preservative. It is not healthful to drink a beverage containing a preservative. Further, different beverages provide different tastes. For different tastes, a consumer may have to purchase various different beverages. However, it is inconvenient to carry and store a number of packed beverages.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a bottle cap type additive container, which is connectable to a mineral water bottle to improve the flavor (and/or appearance) of the mineral water. It is another object of the present invention to provide a bottle cap type additive container, which keeps the additive fresh for long. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a bottle cap type additive container, which uses a preservative-free additive to improve the labor and/or appearance of the drinking water of a water bottle.
- To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the bottle cap type additive container comprises a cylindrical container body, an insert, and a sealing film. The cylindrical container body has an inside chamber, a water-soluble food grade additive filled in the inside chamber, and an inner thread spirally extending along the inside wall near the bottom open side for threading onto the threaded neck of a bottle. The insert is inserted into the bottom open side of the cylindrical container body to seal the water soluble food grade additive inside the cylindrical container body, having an annular base and a filter element mounted within the annular base for allowing passing of a fluid in and out of the inside chamber of the cylindrical container body and filtering the fluid passing therethrough. The sealing film is sealed to the bottom open side of the cylindrical container.

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a bottle cap type additive container in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view showing the relationship between the bottle cap type container and a mineral water bottle according to the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the bottle cap type container of the first embodiment of the present invention fastened to the neck of the mineral water bottle. -
FIG. 4 is an exploded view, showing the relationship between a bottle cap type container in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention and a mineral water bottle. -
FIG. 5 is a sectional view, showing the bottle cap type container of the second embodiment of the present invention fastened to the neck of a mineral water bottle. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-3 , a bottle cap type container in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising a cylindrical container body 1, aninsert 13, and asealing film 134. - The cylindrical container body 1 has an
inside chamber 11, which holds a food grade additive A, aninner thread 121 spirally extending along the inside wall near the bottom open side, an insideannular stop 12 protruded from the inside wall above theinner thread 121. Theinsert 13 has anannular base 131, a filter element, for example, afilter cloth 132 stretched on theannular base 131, and apointed tip 133 extended from the bottom side of theannular base 131. After the prepared food grade additive A has been filled in theinside chamber 11 of the cylindrical container body 1, theinsert 13 is inserted into the bottom open side of the cylindrical container body 1 with itsannular base 131 stopped at the insideannular stop 12 to seal the food grade additive A inside the cylindrical container body 1, and then thesealing film 134 is sealed to the bottom open side of the cylindrical container body 1, keeping the cylindrical container body 1 in an airtight status. When assembled, thepointed tip 133 faces thesealing film 134. Further, the food grade additive A is a water-soluble substance to be added to a drinking water to improve flavor or appearance. The food grad additive A can be a flavor additive, Chinese medicine additive, nutrient substance, solid - Referring to
FIGS. 2 and 3 again, when in use, thescrew cap 21 is removed from the threadedneck 211 of themineral water bottle 2, and then thesealing film 134 is detached from the cylindrical container body 1, and then theinner thread 121 of the cylindrical container body 1 is threaded onto the threadedneck 211 of themineral water bottle 2 to pierce thepointed tip 133 through thetop sealing film 22 of themineral water bottle 2, and then themineral water bottle 2 is turned upside down or shaken to have the mineral water go through thefilter cloth 132 to dissolve the food grade additive A, thereby improving the flavor (and/or appearance) of the mineral water. -
FIGS. 4 and 5 show a bottle cap type container in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. According to this second embodiment, the bottle cap type container is comprised of a cylindrical container body 1, aninsert 14, and asealing film 144. The cylindrical container body 1 has aninside chamber 11, which holds a food grade additive A, aninner thread 121 spirally extending along the inside wall near the bottom open side, an insideannular stop 12 protruded from the inside wall above theinner thread 121. Theinsert 14 has anannular base 141, and afilter cloth 142 stretched on theannular base 141. After the prepared food grade additive A has been filled in theinside chamber 11 of the cylindrical container body 1, theinsert 14 is inserted into the bottom open side of the cylindrical container body 1 with itsannular base 141 stopped at the insideannular stop 12 to seal the food grade additive A inside the cylindrical container body 1, and then thesealing film 144 is sealed to the bottom open side of the cylindrical container body 1, keeping the cylindrical container body 1 in an airtight status. - Referring to
FIGS. 4 and 5 again, when in use, thescrew cap 21 is removed from the threadedneck 211 of themineral water bottle 2, and then thesealing film 144 is detached from the cylindrical container body 1, and then theinner thread 121 of the cylindrical container body 1 is threaded onto the threadedneck 211 of themineral water bottle 2, and then themineral water bottle 2 is turned upside down or shaken to have the mineral water go through thefilter cloth 142 to dissolve the food grade additive A, thereby improving the flavor (and/or appearance) of the mineral water. - Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
