Abstract
The hair straightening iron with ionic treatment consists of a pair of arms which articulate in one of their ends and that have, on the opposite end, a pair of plates or lever electrically heated. Said plates are coated with a ceramic crystal material; in one of said arms there is a point which coincides with a hole in the other arm, where there is a mechanical switch for an ionizing circuit, and the outlet of the negative ions produced by it is located in an adjacent position to one of said plates slightly higher than its surface. The ionizing circuit involves a circuit of electric supply composed by a resistor, an indicator diode “LED” and a rectifier diode, electrically bound to a mechanical switch which is connected to a resistor and a parallel composed by a rectifier diode and an indicator diode “LED”, followed by a capacitor in serial form and the whole is connected to the ionizing block.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention is related to goods used at the hairdressers in general and it particularly refers to a hair straightening iron with ionic treatment.
- 2. Description of Prior Art
- As it is known, the treatment through ionizing appliances is very common to eliminate the static charge produced by computers, carpets and other synthetic materials in the house, air conditioners, central heating, etc. These positive ionic charges constitute the common free radicals whose harmful effects are now well known and that in these particular cases contribute to give rise to respiratory disorders such as asthma and allergies. It has also been medically tested that they reduce the level of serotonin in blood. Therefore, the ionizers are used for the treatment of said problems and to neutralize pollution and environmental bad smells.
- The equipment included in the hair iron injects, between the plates, a stream of several billions of electrons per second which, when incorporated to the existing oxygen, take its charge out making it more assimilable, more vital and healthier; these effects are completely incorporated into the strand of hair which is being treated.
- To make this invention easy to understand and in order to make it easy to use, the following paragraphs will describe in a precise way the preferred form of realization, referring to the enclosed drawings. All as an example, purely demonstrative, but not limiting the invention, whose components could be chosen among several equivalents, but not for that reason deviate from the principles of the invention stated on this documents.
- The main purpose of the invention is, while straightening the hair, to apply a flow of ions that conditions and restores the hair which is being treated.
- A further purpose of this invention is to provide a thermal iron for hair use that restores and rejuvenates the damaged and split hair, during the application of heat carefully chosen for its ironing, simultaneously applying a controlled flow of negative ions which, while being projected over the hair and moisturizing it, revitalizes it making it brighter and more flexible, leaving it silky and healthy.
- Furthermore, this invention has the aim of providing a new form of hair straightening irons, as the surfaces of the plates have been coated with a ceramic crystal material which covers all the pores and facilitates an optimal treatment of the hair due to its smooth texture.
- There is one more advantage to be added to the invention which is not less important and consists in the structure prepared to treat the hair, said structure has been developed to allow the professional to work in a perfect and extremely quick way and also with the precision provided by the electronic circuit that generates the controlled stream of ions.
- Conceptually, the appliance which is going to be described has a constructive function in itself, the structure is made of materials highly resistant to temperature; it is duly protected to prevent the user from any inconveniences. These materials include a removable heat protector which prevents the contact with the hot metallic parts, heated by ceramic resistors of high performance, that reach working temperature in a few seconds, with high temperature suitably controlled by a thermostat, thus allows high quality straightening. The thermostatic control permits great savings in electricity consumption as well as eliminating the possibility that the temperature reaches values which are incompatible with what the hair allows, preventing it from being damaged without notice.
- The heat plates, which get in contact with the hair, are coated with a ceramic crystal material through which an extremely smooth surface is achieved, without any kind of micropores which may obstruct the perfect glide of the hair through them.
- Between these surfaces a flow of negative ions, generated by the electronic circuit with which the iron is equipped, is released through an outlet located between its plates.
- In the schematic drawings which accompany this technical & legal description:
-
FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the hair straightening iron made according to the invention. -
FIG. 2 shows a wiring diagram of the equipment shown inFIG. 1 , which includes the ions generator incorporated in the iron. - In the figures described above, the same reference characters indicate parts which are equal or matching.
- According to
FIG. 1 , the hair straightening iron described is made by following the classical guidance for this appliance, adopting its general structure made by two arms that hinge together, forming a third-class lever. - Its active front part consists of two plates designated 1 and 2 located at the extreme parts of the
3 and 4, which hinge in onelever arms fulcrum 5. The current supply cable 6 appears from one of the arms. - The opposite contact surfaces of the plates are covered by a
coat 7 of ceramic crystal material which seals all the flaws or micropores that could affect them, allowing the hair to glide smoothly through them and, at the same time, performing an optimum resistance to the chemical products and varnish that could be present. - The complete body of the appliance is fabricated with plastic that is resistant to high temperatures. The removable
thermal insulating coatings 8 are applied by pressure over the body. They shield the parts that reach high temperatures, in order to protect the user from the appliance. - Behind the
plate 1, there is the semi-cylindrical item 9 that holds theoutlet 10 of negative ions that form theionized stream 11 spread through the plates. Within the arms in contact with said plates, the ceramic resistors which heat the plates up are housed as well as the circuit that operates them. - On the inner face of the
arm 4, there is alongitudinal dome 12 coinciding with asimilar depression 13 made in theopposite arm 3, forming a house for the dome, whose aim is to prevent the transverse movement of both arms when closing, and near the hinge there appears apoint 14 that coincides with ahole 15 in the opposite arm. Thispoint 14 when going into thehole 15 starts theswitch 24 of the ionizing circuit. - On the
arm 3 there is aLED 19 that indicates on or off, which shows the circuit state. - In
FIG. 2 , which shows the equipment circuit with the ions generator, there appear the terminals ofcurrent supply 16 to the circuit which includes the correspondingmain switches 17 from where the circuit includes theresistor 18, the on-offdiode LED indicator 19 and therectifier diode 20 connected in serial form, from where the heat 21 and 22 are fed.ceramic thermistors - The ions generator is fed with the
bias 23. One of the conductors goes through thesecondary switch 24 of the ionizing circuit and connects to theresistor 25 which is connected to a parallel represented by arectifier diode 26 and theLED indicator 27, then it continues through acapacitor 28 from where it is connected to the electric energy supply. - The last part of the circuit feeds and controls the ionizing
block 29. The negative ions produced flow through the extreme of theconnection 30 going out through theholes 10 made in the body 9. - Operation
- Once the different components of the invention have been stated and developed so as to explain its nature, there follows the description with the functional and operational relation of its parts and the result of it.
- The functional relation is very simple since the equipment starts working when the electric energy supply source of the distribution wiring is connected by operating the
main switch 17. Its operational state is shown when the light-emitting diode (LED) 19 is on. The electric energy supply causes the thermistors to heat up till they reach the temperature set in factory. - When the clamp closes over the lock of hair which is desired to get thermally straightened, working on its
3 and 4, thelever arms point 14 goes through thehole 15 and presses themechanical switch 24 activating the ionizingblock 29 which starts to produce negative ions. - If necessary, the
thermal protection 8 can easily be removed by using a screwdriver or a similar tool. - The thermostat range is regulated in the factory with the optimum value for the ironing, preventing, at the same time, the temperature to reach a level that can put the hair integrity at risk.
- So far there has been described one of the possibilities of construction that lead to the practice of the invention as well as the way it works, adding to this document the summary of the invention contained in the claim clauses that appear thereinafter.
