Abstract

A slipper includes a sole, a pad securely attached to the sole and a top securely mounted on top of the pad and having a strap in connection to opposite sides of the top. An arch insert is sandwiched between the sole and the pad for providing comfort to a foot arch.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a foot wear, and more particularly to an orthotic foot wear having therein an arch insert to support the wearer's foot arch so as to function as a shock absorber and to provide comfort to persons with impaired limb functions.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • A pair of healthy feet easily carries the entire body weight of a person and allows the person to proceed with different tasks. Therefore, a lot of people, especially Chinese, take it seriously in maintaining foot health. When a person is walking or running, the foot arch provides support to the body weight so that the person is able to easily to have an abrupt turn and sudden stop. However, if there is a problem in the foot arch development, the person easily has problem controlling his/her posture. In order to overcome the problem caused by impaired foot arch, an orthotic foot wear is introduced to the market to correct or to treat persons having foot arch problems. The improved foot wear is specially designed for outdoor activities so that the wearers will easily suffer from athlete foot or other diseases resulted from bad ventilation.
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an improved orthotic foot wear to mitigate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved orthotic foot wear having therein an arch insert to support the wearer's foot arch.
  • In one aspect of the present invention, the arch insert is moldable such that wearers with different foot arch shapes are able to adapt to the arch insert to receive the benefits from the foot arch insert.
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the orthotic foot wear of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a top plan view of the foot wear shown in FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken from line 3-3 in FIG. 2; and
  • FIG. 4 is a operational view showing the arch insert is securely attached to the wearer's foot arch.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, it is noted that the orthotic foot wear (10) in accordance with the present invention includes a sole (20), an arch insert (30), a pad (40) and a top (50) having a strap (60) connected to opposite sides of the top (50). Each of the sole (20), the pad (40) and the top (50) has a dimension corresponding to each other and is securely mounted on top of one another. The arch insert (30) is securely sandwiched between the sole (20) and the pad (40) and has an arcuate recessed area (31) defined in a mediate side face thereof. The arch insert (30) has a height sloping downward from the area where he arcuate recessed area (31) is defined so as to adapt to the shape of a foot arch of a human.
  • Furthermore, between a top face (22) of the sole (20) and the pad (40), a heel pad (70) is provided to correspond to a wearer's heel. Because the heel supports the body weight, with the provision of the heel pad (70) and the cooperation with the arch insert (30), a significant shock absorbing effect is provided to the wearer. The material for making the heel pad (70) my be selected from silicone, plastic rubber, thermal plastic rubber and PU.
  • After the assembly of the orthotic foot wear of the present invention is finished, as shown in FIG. 3, it is to be noted that a bossed area is formed on top of the pad (40), which perfectly fits the shape of the wearer's foot arch.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, it is noted that the arch insert (30), though sandwiched between the sole (20) and the pad (40), provides comfort to persons having impaired limb functions such as flat foot or feet of different lengths.
  • It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
