Abstract
A table assembly includes a top and four table leg assemblies are connected to an underside of the top. Each table leg assembly includes a U-shaped frame and a bush with a tapered inside and a tapered outside extends through a hole in the bottom of each bush. A securing sleeve is engaged with the tapered inside of each bush and a leg is securely inserted in the securing sleeve corresponding thereto. The legs assembly is easily assembled and dis-assembled. The bushes each have a cushion lip inclinedly extending from a top thereof and being in contact with the top so as to provide a cushion function for the load on the top.
Description
- The present invention relates to a table leg or bench leg assembly that can be easily assembled and includes cushion feature.
- A conventional table or work bench generally includes a top with four legs and each leg is connected to an underside of the top. Some legs are pivotably connected to the top so as to be pivoted when not in use. The pivotable legs have to be cooperated with securing device which prevents the legs from pivoting suddenly. The securing device requires extra parts and extra time to be fixed to the underside of the top and the legs. Besides, the securing device is connected between the pivotable legs and the top so that the top is not directly connected to the top, this special arrangement might cause the securing device to be damaged because of the load.
- The present invention intends to provide a table leg assembly which includes a bush with a cushion lip contacting the underside of the top and the leg is securely inserted into the tapered inside of the bush with a securing sleeve located therebetween. The leg assembly is easily to be assembled and dis-assembled, and the leg is securely positioned.
- The present invention relates to a table assembly that comprises a top and four table leg assemblies connected to an underside of the top. Each table leg assembly includes a U-shaped frame, a bush, a securing sleeve and a leg. The frame has a hole defined through a bottom thereof and the bush having a tapered inside and a tapered outside extends through the hole in the corresponding frame. Each frame has a cushion lip extending inclinedly from a periphery of a top of the bush and the cushion lip is in contact with the underside of the top. A flange extends from a periphery of a bottom of the bush and is fixed to an underside of the frame. The securing sleeve is force-fitted with the tapered inside of the bush and the leg is securely engaged with an inside of the securing sleeve.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show [[a conventional buckle device for luggage;]] the table leg assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show [[the buckle device in locked status on the luggage;]] the table leg assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view to show [[another conventional buckle device in locked status on luggage;]] a table with the table leg assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is [[an exploded view to show a buckle assembly of the present invention;]] a cross sectional view to show the table leg assembly of the present invention and -
FIG. 5 is [[an exploded view to show the buckle assembly of the present invention, and]] a cross sectional view to show another embodiment of the table leg assembly of the present invention, - [[
FIG. 7 is an illustrative view to show the female part of the buckle assembly is pulled and is ready for disengaging from the position member.]] - Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the table assembly of the present invention comprises a top 10 and four table leg assemblies are connected to an underside of the
top 10. Each table leg assembly includes aU-shaped frame 20, abush 30, asecuring sleeve 40 and aleg 50. - The
frame 20 has an open top and a hollow interior and ahole 211 is defined through abottom 21 thereof. Thetop 10 includes a skirt portion extending from each of tow ends thereof and each skirt portion includes ahorizontal portion 11. Theframes 20 each have a first side rested on thehorizontal portions 11 and acontact portion 22 extends from a top edge of a second side thereof and thecontact portion 22 is in contact with the underside of thetop 10. - The
bush 30 is made by metal and has a tapered inside and a tapered outside. Thebush 30 extends through thehole 211 in thecorresponding frame 20 and acushion lip 32 extends inclinedly from a periphery of a top of thebush 30. Thecushion lip 32 is in contact with the underside of thetop 10. Aflange 33 extends from a periphery of a bottom of thebush 30 and is fixed to an underside of theframe 20 by welding or glue. Eachbush 30 includes a plurality ofreinforcement ribs 31 extending radially from the tapered outside thereof. - The securing
sleeve 40 is made by plastic material and force-fitted with the tapered inside of thebush 30 and theleg 50 is securely engaged with an inside of thesecuring sleeve 40. Each of thesecuring sleeves 40 includes a plurality ofengaging portions 42 extending from an inside thereof and each of thelegs 50 includes a plurality ofgrooves 51 defined in an outside thereof, theengaging portions 42 are engaged with thegrooves 51. The inside of each of thesecuring sleeves 40 has even diameter so that theleg 50 has an even diameter. The inside of thesecuring sleeve 40 can also be tapered and thelegs 50 have a tapered outside. As shown inFIG. 5 , apositioning bolt 60 may extend through theframe 20 and contacts the outside of thebush 30 to further position thebush 30. - The table assembly is easily assembled and dis-assembled. The engagement between the tapered securing
sleeves 40 and thetapered bushes 30 securely position thelegs 50 so that the assembly is secured and reliable. Thecushion lip 32 of eachbush 30 provides a proper cushion feature when a heavy load is put on the top so as to properly protect thelegs 50. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
