Abstract
A snowman toy includes a housing, a body mounted on the housing and rotatable in right and left directions, and a head mounted on the top of the body and swayable in right and left directions. The body and the head respectively are a hollow case which is formed by melting and joining outer edges of a plurality of EVA granules. The EVA granules are transparent and a great quantity of apertures are defined between the EVA granules. A plurality of LEDs and a music player are disposed in the interior of the snowman toy. The snowman toy of the present invention is made by EVA material with good translucence and reflection of light, thereby fully representing the sparkling and crystalline features of a traditional snowman. Furthermore, the snowman toy has functions of playing music, emitting colorful light, rotating the body and swaying the head, which increase the entertainment effect.
Description
- The present application is based on, and claims priority from, China Application Serial Number 200520111398.2, filed Aug. 05, 2005, the disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.
- The present invention relates to a snowman toy, and particularly to a transparent snowman toy made of EVA material.
- A traditional snowman must be piled up in a cold snowfield. However, when the weather gets warm and no longer snows, the traditional snowman soon melts and cannot be formed again.
- A fabric snowman has thus been provided, but it does not allow light to pass through itself as a traditional snowman does. Furthermore, it has poor light reflection and cannot sparkle as a snowman traditionally does.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a snowman toy which has good translucence and reflection of light and therefore represents the traditional sparkly, crystalline appearance of a snowman.
- To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a snowman toy comprising a housing, a body mounted on the housing and rotatable in right and left directions, and a head mounted on top of the body and swayable in right and left directions, the body and the head respectively being a hollow case which is formed by melting and joining outer edges of a plurality of EVA granules. The EVA granules are transparent and a great quantity of apertures are defined between the EVA granules. In addition, a plurality of LEDs and a music player are disposed in the interior of the snowman toy.
- The snowman toy of the present invention is made by transparent EVA material with good translucence and reflection of light, thereby fully representing the sparkling and crystalline features of snowman. Furthermore, the snowman toy has functions of playing music, emitting colorful light, rotating the body and swaying the head, which increase the entertainment effect.
- These and other embodiments, aspects and features of the invention will be better understood from a detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the invention, which are further described below in conjunction with the accompanying figures.
-
FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a snowman toy in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram of the snowman toy of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a snowman toy of the present invention is made by EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) material. The EVA material is tenacious, durable, waterproof, moistureproof, dustproof, corrosion proof, environmentally friendly, useable at low temperature, foldable, bendable, and has shape-restorable. - The EVA snowman toy includes a
housing 1, abody 2 and ahead 3. - The
housing 1 is disc-shaped. Abattery box 11 is disposed in the middle of thehousing 1 for receiving a plurality of batteries. Aswitch 12 is disposed near thebattery box 11 for controlling whether the batteries supply power or not. - The
body 2 is a hollow case formed by melting and joining outer edges of a plurality of EVA granules. The outline of thebody 2 is generally in a shape of one big ball and one small ball connected together and so looks like two stacked snowballs. Thebody 2 is mounted on thehousing 1 and is hollow. A right andleft rotation mechanism 21 is disposed in the interior of thebody 2. When power is supplied to the right andleft rotation mechanism 21, the body can rotate in right and left directions. - The
head 3 is a hollow case formed by melting and joining outer edges of a plurality of EVA granules. The outline of thehead 3 is in a shape of a ball and is mounted on the top of thebody 2. A right and left swaying mechanism 31 is disposed in the interior of thehead 3. When power is supplied to the right and left swaying mechanism 31, thehead 3 can sway in right and left directions. Thehead 3 is disposed with a pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth and so on. A cap is disposed on top of thehead 3. A pair ofarms 32 extends from opposite sides of the bottom of thehead 3 and is adorned with clothing, gloves, a shawl and a broom. These help personify the snowman and make the snowman vivid and lively. - The
body 2 and thehead 3 both are formed by melting and joining outer edges of a plurality of EVA granules. The EVA granules are transparent and a great quantity of apertures are defined between the EVA granules. Therefore, the surfaces of thebody 2 and thehead 3 have good translucence and reflection of such that light can transmit from the interior of thebody 2 and thehead 3. - A plurality of mechanisms (including the right and
left rotation mechanism 21 and the right and left swaying mechanism 31), a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) 33, amusic player 34 and a circuit are disposed inside thebody 2 and thehead 3.FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram of the snowman toy of the present invention. When the switch is turned on, thebody 2 can rotate in right and left directions, and thehead 3 can sway in right and left directions. TheLEDs 33 can alternately emit red and blue light. Themusic player 34 can play music. The generation and control of the action, light, and sound are achieved through conventional techniques and so are not described in detail herein. - The
arms 32 are connected with thehead 3. When thehead 3 is swayed in right and left directions, thearms 32 sway in right and left directions along with thehead 3. In addition, atrigger switch 35 is disposed at the arm for triggering the snowman toy to act or not. - The snowman toy of the present invention is made by transparent EVA material with good translucence and reflection of light, thereby fully representing the sparkling and crystalline features of a traditional snowman. Furthermore, the snowman toy has functions of playing music, emitting colorful light, rotating the body and swaying the head, which increase the entertainment effect.
- The preferred embodiments, aspects, and features of the invention have been described in detail. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that numerous variations, modifications, and substitutions may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as disclosed and further claimed below.
