Abstract
An indicating tablet for a traffic cone includes a main body formed with a recessed surface for receiving a pattern or letters. The main body has its lower end formed integral with an insert member, and between the main body and the insert member is formed a connecting edge to enable the insert member to be moved elastically for facilitating the insert member to be inserted in the upper opening of a traffic cone. A plurality of clamping members are fixed at proper locations of the main body for clamping a pattern or letters on the indicating tablet for producing another indicating effect.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to an indicating tablet for a traffic cone, particularly to one formed integral with an insert member to be inserted in the upper opening of a traffic cone for indicating traffic guidance and ensuring traffic safety. Various indicating patterns or letters can be movably fixed on the indicating tablet by clamping members to produce another indicating effect.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- For the sake of safety, when a road is under maintenance or repairs, traffic cones are usually employed as temporary apparatus for separating and safeguarding. In reality, traffic cones can produce comparatively marked effects with the help of other auxiliary apparatus. For this purpose, a first conventional traffic cone is disclosed in a Taiwan Patent, No. 107105, titled “SPECIAL HANG HOOK FOR A TRAFFIC CONE”. The first conventional traffic cone is provided with a C-shaped hook having its lower end formed with an engage member with expanding elasticity. The engage member is provided with a projecting ring with a tapered surface to be inserted in the upper opening of a traffic cone. A separating rod is hung on the hang hooks of the traffic cones and plural warning lamps are disposed on the separating rod for giving out a warning light.
- A second conventional traffic cone is disclosed in a Taiwan Patent, No. 395408, titled “TRAFFIC CONE EASY TO BE ASSEMBLED THEREON WITH FLASH WARNING MARKS”. The second conventional traffic cone is bored with an opening fixed thereon by two screws with a hang member having its lower end formed with a hook. The traffic cone is provided with a switch in the interior for controlling a battery-powered flash lamp hung on the hang hook of the traffic cone to give out flash light at night and in rainy or foggy days for ensuring traffic safety.
- However, both the first conventional traffic cone provided with a separating rod and warning lamps and the second conventional traffic cone provided with a hook and a battery flash lamp are complicated in structure and high in cost.
- A third conventional traffic cone is disclosed in a Taiwan Patent, No. 093220253, titled “INDICATING TABLET FOR A TRAFFIC CONE”. The third conventional traffic cone is fixed thereon with an indicating tablet on which a pattern or letters are printed for indicating traffic guidance. The Indicating tablet is made of a material of a little transparency; therefore, the pattern or the letters printed on the indicating tablet may become unclear at night when the headlight of an automobile emits light on the indicating tablet, resulting in much trouble to drivers.
- A first objective of the invention is to offer an indicating tablet for a traffic cone, which has its lower end formed integral with an insert member to be inserted in the upper opening of a traffic cone to fix the indicating tablet on the traffic cone for indicating traffic guidance and ensuring traffic safety.
- A second objective of the invention is to offer an indicating tablet for a traffic cone, on which various kinds of patterns or letters can be easily and freely printed for indicating or warning.
- The features of this invention are described as follows.
- 1. The indicating tablet for a traffic cone includes a main body formed with a recessed surface for receiving a pattern or letters. The main body has its lower end formed integral with an insert member, and between the main body and the insert member is formed a connecting edge to enable the insert member to be moved elastically for facilitating the insert member to be inserted in the upper opening of a traffic cone.
- 2. The main body of the indicating tablet is fixed thereon with a plurality of clamping members at proper locations for clamping movable patterns or letters on the indicating tablet for producing another indicating effect.
- This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an indicating tablet for a traffic cone in the present invention: -
FIG. 2 is a side cross-sectional view of the indicating tablet for a traffic cone in the present invention: -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view and partial side cross-sectional views of the indicating tab let for a traffic cone in the present invention: -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the indicating tablet to be combined with a traffic cone in the present invention: -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the indicating tablet combined with a traffic cone in the present invention: -
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the indicating tablet combined with a traffic cone in the present invention: and -
FIG. 7 is a front view of the indicating tablet hung at a certain spot on the outer wall of a store in the present invention. - A preferred embodiment of an indicating tablet for a traffic cone in the present invention, as shown in
FIGS. 1 and 2 , includes amain body 1, and a plurality of clampingmembers 3 combined together. - The
main body 1 made of a transparent or a light penetrable or not penetrable material is formed with arecessed surface 10 for receiving an indicating pattern orletters 11. Themain body 1 has its lower end formed integral with aninsert member 12, with a connectingedge 120 formed between themain body 1 and theinsert member 12. Two comparativelylarge notches 121 are respectively bored between the opposite ends of the connectingedge 120 and theinsert member 12 to enable theinsert member 12 to be moved elastically. Thus, theinsert member 12 can be easily inserted stably in theupper opening 20 of atraffic cone 2 and the indicating board can be firmly fixed on atraffic cone 2 for indicating traffic guidance, as shown inFIGS. 4, 5 and 6. In addition, themain body 1 has its periphery bored with a plurality ofhang holes 13 for fixing achain 14 to hang the indicating tablet at a proper location of a store, as shown inFIG. 7 for showing if it is open or closed - The
clamping members 3 are fixed at proper points of the periphery of themain body 1. Eachclamping member 3 is bored with combiningholes 30, withfixing members 31 like rivets inserted through the combiningholes 30 to fix the clampingmembers 3 on themain body 1. Eachclamping member 3 is provided with aclamping plate 32 formed withplural projections 320 protruding downward and theclamping plate 32 has its rear side formed with an elastic recessedgroove 321. When different patterns orletters 15 are to be clamped on the indicating tablet on thetraffic cone 2, as shown inFIGS. 3 and 4 , only slightly pull upward theclamping plates 32 of theclamping members 3 and position the movable pattern orletters 15 on themain body 1 and then release theclamping plates 32 to let theprojections 320 of theclamping members 3 firmly clamp the pattern or theletters 15 on the indicating tablet, increasing value and effect in using the indicating tablet. - While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
