Abstract
A pool system includes a pool and a plurality of baffle boards configured to simulate the effect of swimming in a larger pool. The plurality of baffle boards includes a combination of pop-out knobs and push-in knobs adapted to mate with corresponding portions of one or more interior walls of the pool. An arch is attached via one or more attachments to the pool and is configured to suspend a swimmer in an essentially stationary position within the pool using a body strap.
Description
- This application claims the priority of the following application, which is herein incorporated by reference: U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 60/637,099, filed 17 Dec. 2004, entitled, “POOL SYSTEM”.
- The present disclosure relates to interior pool systems and, more particularly, to static water systems for swimming simulation.
- Typically, many interior pools built inside homes have size constraints when design aspects and limitations are considered. In particular, because of size limitations as well as energy or water savings, small pools or larger sized Jacuzzis are built in private homes for the enjoyment of private owners. However, such small sized pools are not entirely satisfactory due to their small size for activities such as swimming. For example, it would not be possible to swim several laps nor profit from the full benefits of swimming in a small interior pool.
- Therefore, it would be desirable to develop a new system to perform efficient, practical, and improved swimming.
- Accordingly, it is an object of the disclosure to provide interior pool systems and static water systems for swimming simulation. The disclosure also describes an interior pool system and a method of constructing an underground or above-ground pool. The use of the interior pool contemplated by this disclosure includes a user who swims in the pool by using the hydrostatic effect of baffle boards to simulate the effects of swimming in a much larger pool. In one exemplary embodiment, the user may be suspended by an arch, for example, by being strapped thereto around his torso and/or lower back. The use of the arch strap may be optional but may keep the user in place when exercising and thus maximizing the swimming exercises. Baffle boards may be attached to the bottom surface of the pool by baffle knobs, which are flexible. The swimming pool system may include the attachment of the arch firmly on the sides of the rigid swimming pool structure.
- In particular, this disclosure relates to a pool system including a pool and baffle boards for simulating the effect of swimming in larger pool, where the baffle boards include a combination of pop-out knobs and push-in knobs adapted to mate with corresponding portions of interior walls of the pool, and an arch attached via one or more attachments to the pool, and being configured to suspend a swimmer in an essentially stationary position within the pool using a body strap.
- These and other aspects of the improved system and method will be apparent from the following description, drawings, and from the claim.

FIG. 2 , swimmer 22 is illustrated on a side view. Anelongated member 30 ofarch 20 provides the vertical support toswimmer 20 necessary to hold the swimmer in an essentially stationary position withinpool 10.Arch 20 may include one or more side attachments (e.g.,side attachments 32 and 34) configured to be attached firmly on a floor surface ofpool 10, as illustrated inFIG. 3 .Arch 20 may include a belt/arch strap 50 that swimmer 22 attaches onto his torso and/or lower back so that be is suspended withinpool 10 to maximize the swimming exercises with a minimal amount of effort. 12 and 14 can be attached to the bottom surface ofBaffle boards pool 10 by baffle knobs. - Now referring to
FIGS. 4-20 , there is shown a plurality of detail views of the above-described pool system. - A number of implementations have been described. Nevertheless, it will be understood that various modifications may be made. Accordingly, other implementations are within the scope of the following claims.
