Abstract

A child's bath toy is used in cooperation with the flat horizontal surface formed on the side of the bathtub. The toy has a four-section inter-connected play surface. One section is designed to fit onto the horizontal bathtub surface; another section vertically drops down the wall of the tub; another floats on the surface of the bath water, and the last section protrudes vertically from the first named section to provide a backdrop. Each section is appropriately decorated.

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims priority of the Applicant's earlier filed U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 60/622,159, filed Oct. 26, 2004.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention
  • The present invention is a child's bath toy for use in cooperation with the flat horizontal surface formed on the side of the bathtub. The toy has a four-section play surface. One section is designed to fit onto the horizontal bathtub surface; another section vertically drops down the wall of the tub; another floats on the surface of the bath water, and the last section protrudes vertically to provide a backdrop.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART
  • The present invention is a four section bath toy which has a portion floating on the bath water connected to a portion vertically adjacent to the bathtub wall, a third portion mounted on the periphery of the tub which is connected to the vertical portion and a fourth portion connected to the third portion the for the designed to be upwardly free standing and extended from the tub periphery portion.
  • The portions may be decorated so that the floating portion is in the manner of a beach scene. The second portion adjacent the tub wall is a stairway to a boardwalk, the third portion mounted on the tub periphery is a train track or car/truck road bed and the fourth vertically extended portion is a backdrop a scene suitable to a beach experience. The floating portion may be formed to be inflatable, as may each of the other portions.
  • Simpson, U.S. Pat. No. 6,409,901 discloses a toy train track designed to be affixed on the peripheral section of a bathtub.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the bath toy of my invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the toy. In FIG. 1, bathtub 5 has a four-section toy mounted in part on rim 6 of the tub 5. Section 1 of the toy is formed of material to float on the surface of the tub water. Section 1 is connected to vertical section 2 designed to touch the wall of the tub. Section 3 is connected to section 2 and rests on the tub rim 6. A final vertical section 4 rests on the bathroom wall above the rim 6. Each of the sections 1-4 are decorated as desired with section 3 having a railroad track or road surface formed thereon so that a train a truck can be manipulated by the child for play.
  • Further modifications to the methods and apparatus of the invention may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims (6)

1. A four-section bath toy for use in a bath tub comprising; a first section formed of material to float on the surface of the tub water; a second section connected to said first section said second section being vertically mounted for contacting the wall of said tub; a third section connected to said second section 2 for resting and being supported by the rim of said tub; and a fourth section connected to said third section vertically resting on the bathroom wall above said rim.
2. The four-section bath toy of claim 1 wherein each of said sections is decorated as desired.
3. The four-section bath toy of claim 1 wherein said third section has a railroad track or road surface formed thereon so that a train or other vehicle can be manipulated for play.
4. A multi-section bath toy for use in a bath tub comprising; a first section formed of material to float on the surface of the tub water; a second section connected to said first section said second section being vertically mounted for contacting the wall of said tub; a third section connected to said second section for resting and being supported by the rim of said tub; and a railroad track or road surface formed on said second section so that a vehicle can be manipulated thereon for play.
5. The multi-section bath toy of claim 4 further including a fourth section vertically connected to said third section and being supported by a wall adjacent said bath tub.
6. The multi-section bath toy of claim 5 wherein each of said sections are decorated.
